Ahh.  Great sandwiches.  All the sandwiches are made in front of you and the panini style just gives it a good texture and flavor among the melty cheese, mayo and chipotle mustard.  I love the fact that despite their relatively healthy selection of sandwiches, including a delicious veggie sandwich, they still carry chips - I mean real chips, Cheetos, Lays, Doritos - and not the fancy overpriced Fox n Obel chips.  I used to live right in the neighborhood and it's nice to have another good sandwich shop (Bari's still takes the trophy when I need a deluxe sandwich.)

There's nothing like eating a fresh sandwich with Doritos and Squirt with a straw (yes, they still make it and sell it) on a slightly tilted floor while watching DVDs of old 80s songs or movies.

I love how simple and fresh this hidden place is for a sandwich.  I found this place about 4 years ago and have been once a week basically ever since.  Make sure to stick with the gourmet sandwiches because they are the best.  I like the Holmes and Milazzo club but always get the soup for $.99 with your meal.

Whenever I am in a pickle for a quick bite, Sandwicheria is just a few minute walk from home.

On this visit I went with the Chicken Salad Wrap. The chicken is of the shredded canned variety, but still yummy.  Making it even better, its not drowned in mayo.  A few years ago I thought the more mayo the better, but nowadays I'm keeping tabs on calories and fat.  Getting old sucks.

The interior is nothing to write home about, but is always clean and in order.  The service is typically pleasant and mostly quick.

When the company I work for moved in a block away from this joint, the first thought that came to my mind was, "Christ, I hope this place doesn't suck, because it's either this or the snack machine in the breakroom...and I don't even want to go there." Luckily, Sandwicheria is affordable and tasty, with a menu I haven't gotten sick of yet. And that's an accomplishment.

Sandwiches. It's what they do. Sure, they've got some side deeshes (flan, fruit cup, etc), as well as a coffee bar, and they're totally ok - but the SANDWICHES. Oh emm gee. Their veggie selection is great, but the one that rocks my socks off is the ridiculously huge - almost intimidating - meat-tastic breakfast panini. Egg, bacon, ham, red onion, tomato, cheese... It's like Christmas in your mouth. And at 8am, after a grueling Blue Line ride, nothing helps you forget about the business criminal dickhead wedging his briefcase between your buttcheeks for fifteen minutes more than a great big toasty breakfast sandwich. I have them add guacamole. Try it. You'll love it.

For lunchtime scarfing, they offer a "lunch box" which contains, if I'm not mistaken, a sandwich, side dish, and chips. It's just enough to satisfy, while not making you wish you'd worn stretchy pants.

So, yeah. Sandwicheria. Go, eat, be happy.

I also work in a weirdo location in the middle of nowhere, Chicago. (hard to imagine!?). This is just down the street, with easy street and meter parking.

Cafe is small/quaint with basic offerings. Paninis, sandwiches, chips, drinks, salads, wraps. You get the idea. Hearty, filling, pretty healthy if you want it to be...

Service was pretty good. I ordered the Chef's Salad with chicken (it came with one choice of meat) and she charged me for the meat...so I said, oh, that seems like a lot for what I ordered, and she kind of snapped back at me that "meat is extra." I got it sorted out, but i despise being made to feel like a cheapass (I'm not) over $1.75. It's the principle!

Portions were pretty good, definitely fresh...I will have enough for lunch tomorrow. The smoothies looked tastey, but I wasn't in the mood...

I will likely be back in the winter for some coffee lunch lounging, etc. It's cozy and tucked away, a little shop in the crossroads of Chicago that other food joints have missed. ;)

The Paramount Room is closed for lunch on Monday's, that's ok because it led me here. I have never even seen this place before and I drive by it 2 or 3 times a week. Anyway, the sandwiches were great and the staff was friendly. Plus I saved quite a few $$ by skipping out on the PR.

Sandwicheria..... What can I say? The veggie sandwich is pretty good, they are very generous with the avocado, make it on wheat and you have yourself a healthy lunch. The service is quick, and its fairly priced, about $6.55 for a sandwich.

I have to say that everytime I go in there they have MTV2 or VH1 or some music video channel playing the whole time, I usually try to avoid popular music and sometimes the TV can be quite annoying, one time it was an Ashley Simpson marathon, or someone equally annoying... Change the channel and this place is good to go.

also one time they totally robbed me of one dollar, I paid for my sammich with my debit card, $6.55 total, I put a 50 cent tip to round it up to 7.05, not the best tip but hey, tips are suggested, not required, Anyways I checked my bank account online later and noticed they charged me 8.05 for the sandwich... not a big deal, but dishonest at the very least...

I work about a block away, and this is one of my favorite lunch spots. The menu has plenty of interesting specialty sandwiches, such as the "Virginia," which is roast beef, provolone, sour cream and avocado. I thought this was an odd way to have a roast beef sandwich, but I tried one and it was surprisingly delicious. There's quite a bit of variety in your made to order options, and you can get a great sandwich for $4. I would also highly recommend the paninis.

My favorite menu item is the Chicken Caesar Wrap, which is, as the name suggests, a Chicken Caesar salad, croutons and all, wrapped in a tortilla. I'm usually not a fan of wraps, but I love this thing.

The bread is good, the vegetables are always fresh, and there are more options than most sandwich shops. All in all, a great place for a quick lunch if you're in the area.

Parking: Tons of street parking
Service: Nice, prompt
Price: Not cheap but not expensive.  Sandwich, chips and drink for two = $15-$19, not bad but well worth it.

This hole in the wall in the last place you would think a great sandwich shop would be, but - dare I say - it's one of the best sandwich shops in town.  This little place packs a big punch, with signature sandwiches like "The Holmes" and "The Mexican" being the favorites (Top two fav's in my opinion).

Sandwicheria also has a good breakfast menu but what you NEED to have is the breakfast pannini or the burrito.  I swear, if it does not make your day you have absolutely no soul in your body.  It's terrific.

The little place seems more like a lunch place for local blue-collar boys and the deserved few that know.  The little flat screen  serves as entertainment in the small building (seats around 15), playing either a music video station or a TNT-like movie.  The staff is nice and very very  fast (they do serve blue collar dudes in a 1/2 hour-lunch time crunch), and you walk out feeling like you know a little secret of the city very few do.

Want a change of pace, go here.  That is of course if you have a soul in your body.

I kind of like this place. I had the vegetarian sandwich, which was pretty good: cheese, veggies, avocado, and pico de gallo on thick bread. Only problem was the that the sandwich fell apart pretty easily.

Reasonable lunch, however: Under 6 bucks for sandwich and a coke.

One question: Why does this cafe have a flat screen TV blaring MTV?

This place doesn't look like much from the outside... as I walked toward it for the first time I kept thinking, wait, did the place I read about on yelp close?  This squat little dandelion yellow building looks like a greasy spoon hot dog joint!  But once you are inside:  the air is cool, the decor cute, the tables clean, and the staff friendly.

I wanted to wait until I had tried a few different menu items before I wrote a review of this awesome little sandwich joint in west town.  I loved the chicken salad, and had to split the breakfast ham-and-egg sandwich with a friend because it was so big, but what put me over the top was today's greek salad with chicken.  This thing was HUGE.  Lots of fresh romaine, tons of sliced cucumber and tomato, a healthy portion of feta, and (for my taste) way too many black olives and onions that I just picked off.  But hey if you like black olives and onions you would have been in heaven.  Anyhoo I've got more than half of it waiting in the fridge for lunch tomorrow.  What more can you ask for?

The price is right, the food is great, the location is fab for me but maybe a little off the beaten path for others.  I recommend you make your way over to try this true "golden palace" for yourself.

Dump on the outside. Tasty on the inside.

I love their vegetarian sandwich with Gardinera, it's great and its affordable.

Not a place i would usually go (due to lack of ambiance), but great food.

Quality sandwiches, reasonably priced, and they take credit cards.  Not much you could do to make this place better.

I kind of work in the middle of nowhere with VERY limited restaurants, so show me a new lunch place? I'll be your new best friend!  Sandwicheria was the most refreshing thing to happen to me last week.  It's a bit hidden but once you uncover it, you'll realize that this gem is one that shouldn't miss.   Friendly and quant, this cafe serves up all kinds of salivating sandwiches, salads and desserts.  You can make your own which is a nice option for the indecisive type like myself - they'll even give you a complimentary bowl of soup if you are dining in.  Lunch anyone?

I'd really like to give this place a good review.  But, I've been there twice and both times I left thinking I'd never try it again.  The first time my sandwich took 30 minutes, and then it was wrong when I got it.  The second time, I just wanted a latte. The service was slow again, and then she gave me an iced coffee.  I felt like a snob, but a latte has milk in it at least?  I was one of only 2 or 3 customers each time, I should also mention.
