2 reviews for Sanchez Art Center
Born as a labor of love 11 years ago, this former elementary school in the heart of the San Pedro Valley has been transformed by scores of volunteers into a thriving cultural center for our little town. The Sanchez Art Center features galleries, artist's studios, a performance space, classes for all ages, and is home to Pacifica Performances and the Art Guild of Pacifica, as well as renowned digital photographer Stephen Johnson.
Recently renamed "Pacifica Center for the Arts" this popular destination is easily spotted by the large, colorful mural that fills the the street-facing wall of the Sanchez Concert Hall.

I lived in Pacifica for over two years but hadn't really explored what the city holds so I went to the city page and looked up parks and things to visit. This was one of the places on the list so during a Mother/Daughter day decided to go exploring.
I've driven past this numerous times but always thought it was an elementary school, so never really minded it much. The whole school was obviously turned into an art haven.
We, of course, viewed the displayed art, but also realized that in one of the buildings there's actual rooms that ppl use to wrk on their art. Rather it be visual or otherwise. Very interesting!!
