My breath catches a little just thinking about this place. In the middle of nowhere, if nowhere is 10 miles south of Tucson, it's part of the San Xavier Indian Reservation. I can't think of many places like it in America (Ecuador springs to mind with its dark, hushed Spanish baroque churches painted gloriously in golds and blues and reds). The light here is exquisite. Go even (perhaps especially) if you think churches are boring.
