3 reviews for San Vito Pizzeria & Restaurant
I'm updating my review since I just ate there last week. I rarely get out to Bayonne since my sister no longer lives in the area, but trust that I will take every bus, train and motorcar to get back here the next time I am in Newark.
Like I said before, I now understand what New Yorkers mean when they say pasta isn't pasta unless you have it in NY/NJ. I had no idea pasta was supposed to taste like this.
I usually get the ravioli and ask for a pink sauce or get angelhair with bolognese. This time, I had the eggplant in marinara with shell pasta. If you like eggplant, this is amazing! My nephew had the carbonara. I usually dislike carbonara but I could totally eat this one. My sister had clams in white wine sauce. Heavenly. The clams were plentiful and ocean fresh--I loved my dish but I was having plate envy.
They do espresso well too. Nothing like seeing a thicky, rich layer of crema on top of dark espresso. Their American coffee wa pretty good too.
All in all, we all ended up with take-home boxes and you better believe we carried them through security and ate it on the plane.

Excellent food..even better (if possible)i s the feeling of family Luciano, Anthony and Maria create with their attention and sincere caring.
Excellent catering...and personal attention.
Highly recommended....Egggplant and hats is the best!
I'm a little surprised that I'm the first reviewer for this place. It's the best quick-stop Italian restaurant in Bayonne by far. Classy owner, warm and friendly staff, just an outright pleasure to hang out and order up. The pizza isn't Bayonne's best but you'd have to go through all of them to find the better one; you'll not find better veal parm sandwiches or fried calamari. Really, if you're in the mood for a good meal and linen napkins aren't a big deal for you, San Vito's is perfect. Jeans and a t-shirt, and you won't be embarrassed to bring a date here. Luciano will figure this out and somehow make it seem like you're one of his extended family. This means tip the waitress obscenely. Which you should always do on a date anyway.
