This is such a cute spot, walk into the grocery store towards the back to order! Food is made fresh and the customer service is 5 stars! We got a super burrito and quesabirria tacos and I have to say the Quessabirria was incredible- 5 stars hands down. The burrito was solid. (If you don't like onions be sure to ask for no onions/pico because there were pretty large and long chunks of onions in the burrito)

I had no idea this gem existed until recently! Today I was with my mom getting a mani pedi (cuz y'all locals know that 25th ave in San Mateo is THE nail salon street) and when we saw the picture of different kinds of shaved ice in the window, we had to try.

It's in the very back of the San Mateo Produce Market. Workers are suuper friendly and quick at making the freshly cooked/prepared food! You can watch them make it right in front of you.

I got the pineapple raspados (Mexican shaved ice). Something to note about Mexican food with flavored syrup: if you get pineapple, it's almost always a homemade recipe that makes it AMAZING. none of that fake, sweet yet tart candy stuff. This is the real deal with chunks of actual pineapple in it. So. Good.

We also got a pupusa - stuffed with beans, cheese, and meat. It was really amazing. I have a higher standard for Mexican food (read: VERY PICKY ) and this is the best I've had.

Will definitely be back many times!!!!

Knocked my f*cking socks off. They just crush it across the board. This place would be 5 stars if they got everything right and the rice was a bit mushy or the home made salsa a B.

But no - EVERYTHING was amazing. Salsa - spot on. Beans amazing. Rice perfect. I got a pollo asado burrito and am trying to find ways to go back the next day and get the same thing.

Can't recommend enough. And yes it's sort of thrown together in the back of a grocery store which only adds to its street cred.

Hidden in the back of the Mexican market, we got the regular and super taco with lengua and asada. The asada was super flavorful and the handmade tortillas had really great texture! will come back again

First time here for a beef burrito.
Excellent is what I have to say.
      Friendly staff and great burrito.
Its inside a market so you can get some groceries if needed.

The sandwiches are huge and packed full of yummy stuff. I really like the cemitas poblanas, the torta is pretty good, burritos are decent , plenty of shrimp in the shrimp burrito.
Papusas are filling and come with a pickled slaw. There is also tamales ready for just a grab and go.

Nothing to whine too much about. I love the sandwiches the best here.

Stumbled upon a gem! Best tacos I've had in a long time! Tastes like I'm at an authentic Mexican family picnic bbq! I grew up in San Diego so I've been used to getting disappointing Mexican food here in the Bay Area. They're currently part of a grocery store, and they're moving into a restaurant space that's under construction right now, just a few doors away on the same side of the street. I had the tacos, yum, even the corn tortillas themselves are tasty. Kinda surprised there's only 6 reviews rn. Their restaurant opens mid-June.

      Tres tacos!

Just found this place today on a whim! I had no idea it was in the back of the market. I ordered a carne asada taco and was not disappointed. The steak had so much flavor and there was a spicy salsa / sauce on it. They also packed me some chips & salsa to go. So good I'll definitely be coming back!

We were in the area so I used Yelp to find my husband a highly rated burrito spot and came across this hole in the wall joint in a market. Figured it would be legit since the hole in the walls are usually THE ONE. lol. It's hard to dismiss this place being it's covid times and businesses are struggling, but we were sadly disappointed in our food. First, my husband ordered a burrito. It was in fact, what he was craving for, but instead he got a quesadilla. Perhaps it was miscommunication. But that was his first disappointment. You know when you're hella craving that one particular thing!... and you yelp an almost 5 star resto... and you get super excited to eat... only to open the bag and find... not what you were expecting! Fail. Lol. But he's a guy, so he got over it! We originally ordered carne asada super burrito, shrimp quesadilla, and cheese quesadilla for the kiddos.... ended up with all quesadillas but really wet and soupy quesadillas! Flavor was there... but they were really hard to hold and eat because juices were dripping everywhere! I honestly took three bites of my shrimp quesadilla and stopped because I couldn't enjoy it. Maybe the burritos are better... lol. But until I try those... I can't say.
