Feel like visiting the 1950's?
I really love this place! Breakfast is one of my favorite meals and I feel like I am sitting in my grandmothers kitchen eating when I am eating here.
Stop by the Grill for breakfast or lunch. It is the best classic breakfast in the Pasadena area. When you walk in the door you will be welcomed and feel like you are hanging out with the Beav and Wally. One booth will have a group of regulars all men in their 60's - 70's gabbing and having their morning nosh. It is just a lovely way to start the day.
this place has been here forever!! my friends actually took me here on my 16th birthday. They barged into my room at 6 am blind folded me and next thing i know, i was sitting inside one of the boots at San Marino Grill. I was blind folded the whole time, so i had no idea what they were feeding me, but it was delicious and memorable. I believe i had hot chocolate and an omelet? Then when we finally walked across the street back to the hs i could finally see! lol
The San Marino Grill is a pleasant diner serving traditional American breakfast and sandwich. It is generally packed with local residents on the older side; nevertheless, the omelets are delicious (served with Kraft singles cheese on top) which gives it an unique creamy taste. Ask for the fresh salsa; it goes well with any dish. The waitress are middle aged nice ladies, who has to wear somewhat too short of an uniform. Even though the place is a bit small, it remains a popular joint serving good quality breakfast freshly made in the one grill at the bar.
I've been coming here since I was a little kid, and the food is consistently great. This place has been open for over 40 years under the same family ownership, and I don't think it's changed a bit since, which I love. It is a cute diner with great service and food. Wonderful breakfast and burgers. They also have a terrific Chef Salad. Oh yeah, and a fantastic French dip sandwich. Love it! A San Marino treasure.
For those of you familiar with Pie n Burger in Pasadena this place takes a close second place. Great service, easy parking, and you can always get a seat quick. I have only had the breakfast here. They have all the typical american breakfast foods done home style.
San Marino Grill is located in the snug city of San Marino. Inside this restaruant, the cozy and heartwarming atmosphere is very welcoming. The people there are friendly and provide good service.
There is also bar seating and seats with padded chairs. The food is American Style. The taste of the food is good. It just isn't anything spectacular.
