We've been using Royal Coach tour buses for years now with an annual retreat that I coordinate. Their service is top notch, reliable but quite pricey. And with the state of California's budget, an educator needs to roll like a baller on a budget. (aka...find a new bus company).....Though I was very hesitant as I've had horrible experiences with other companies (drivers being reckless, doors slamming on students, etc.)
Our support coordinator did some research (thanks Diana R!) and came up with San Jose Charters. I am pleased to say that they were very professional, arrived early, drove cautiously down to Pacific Grove, and even took pictures for us. It's not an easy thing to drive 40 college students in a bus for over an hour but Steve did a great job.
We'll absolutely refer them to our other campus colleagues :) -

I booked almost 9 months before my wedding, and I told them how windy the road was and they said their buses could make it up the hill. I didn't know there was a size restraint to going on this road. I booked 55 person buses
3 days before my wedding i received a call saying their 55 and 45 person buses could not make it up there and their smaller buses were already booked that weekend. LUCKY ME. I changed to the 45 person buses and was told I would receive a refund. So they practiced the route, normally it would take 30 minutes. ended up at 1 hour and 15 minutes.
The buses made it up there and made it back and because of road construction on 17 it took them 2 hours to make it back. No research on road constructions.
Either way I still haven't got my refund on the different bus size, I have a feeling that the lady Sara didn't want to talk to me and after the 2 hour drive home after a wedding 2 of my friends got sick on the bus, so I am guessing she used it for a cleaning fee.
However, I would have liked to know about this!!!!!!
I WISH I WOULD HAVE KNOWN I WOULD HAVE GONE WITH MINI BUSES WITH LE GRANDE AFFAIR, NOW THAT IS AN AWESOME COMPANY!!!! I would never use this company again! -

We ordered 3 charter buses for our wedding guest through San Jose Charters and everything went very smoothly. We shopped prices with various bus companies and found San Jose Charters to be very reasonable. We had one accident on the bus when someone puked, and we also kept the buses a little too late, but it was a very reasonable extra charge in the end. I would def use them again for any events!
