Being a professional DJ in a past life, I know a thing or two about PA systems. We needed a simple two speaker system with stands for our wedding and SJAV is the place to go. Their prices are cheaper than any of the other places I called, I got powered JBL EONs, and they threw in additional cables for my iPod and power strips at no extra cost.
Talk to Turner and they will hook you up with great speakers for a low price. We've got another event next month and we will definitely be going with SJAV for our PA set-up. -

Rented speakers and stands for a party recently. They didn't have the size I rented so they upgraded me for free. They were very courteous and helpful and I was in and out in minutes. I will definitely use them again.

This was my first time using them and not only were they cheaper, but their equipment was outstanding. We hosted a large Technology event and wanted to have a PA and music for the event. I spoke with Tony on the phone and from start to finish they were professional and super easy to work with. I called another company in San Jose before them and they were super expensive.
They delivered everything on time and took the time to show me how to work with it. Their equipment was "dummy proof" and in excellent condition. I will hire them again for our event next year and I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to rent equipment for parties etc.

I definitely recommend San Jose AV Rentals to anyone in need of AV or DJ equipment for an event. I recently had them provide us with a PA/Speaker system for a 50th Wedding Anniversary party - and could not have been happier.
I'm not a professional event coordinator, but anyone who's had to coordinate an event - whether private or professional - knows how important it is to get (a) fair pricing (b) quality equipment and (c) top-notch customer service when it comes to any sort of rental. San Jose AV Rentals definitely delivered on all three counts. The prices were 100% reasonable and their assistance was exceptional. The equipment all looked recently purchased and very well maintained. We were led through equipment selection options without feeling like a hard sale was taking place, and then carefully instructed on the use of the system. Tony even gave us his mobile # in case we had any equipment related questions or issues after store hours.
All said, a great AV/party rentals supplier and terrific customer service ethic. Would use San Jose AV Rentals again in a heartbeat! -

This is a great company with great equipment. I needed a speaker, mic and other cords for a big event and my request was REALLY last minute. But the staff was really really friendly and helped me get everything I needed. It was easy and cheap.. definitely would use them again!

After getting prices from different meeting equipment rental companies I came across SJ AV Rentals and was very pleased with their prices. I rented a projection screen for a work meeting and they had the lowest price in all of the south bay, plus they had a few size options,
I spoke with Turner and he was very helpful and professional. When I came to pick up the projection screen he spent time showing me how to open up the screen and close it back up. Again, very helpful and friendly! He even loaded it up into my car, being careful not to scratch my leather seats.
I will definitely bring my business back to SJ AV Rentals for future meeting needs!

I will definitely recommend Sanjose AV rentals. I used thier Service last year for our Bay Area Bathukamma celebrations in Fremont and planning to use their service every year for this event. A representative from SanJoseAVRentals asked me some details like number of people attending, whether it is open place or a closed auditorium etc.. and recommended the capacity of speakers and other sound systems required. He also gave some extra cables for free. We had great party in the park and every body appreciated the quality of sound system. I thank them for the quality service.

Polite, professional, friendly and good business sense.
I rented three disco lights
Galaxian 3D - awesome for slow to fast music
LED Quest - awesome for medium to fast music
Revo 4 - didn't look that great in my small room
Next time I would just rent the Galaxian 3D and LED Quest.
I rented a tripod and the remote light switch (recommended).
I also rented the Numark IDJ2 which allows mixing with one iPod.
It takes about 30 second to load a song to deck A or B.
Numark has software called "librian" that you should use to prep your playlist so the songs load faster.

Make sure you have your playlist correct before you plug in your iPod.
I modified my playlist after syncing the iPod to the IDJ2 and the IDJ2 could not see the songs in the new playlist. I told San Jose AV Rentals about my problem when I returned the mixer. They reproduced the problem and did a firmware update on the unit to fix it. They refunded $30 of the rental price to me. -

For my birthday, I decided to throw a private dance party with my close friends (15 people) at home. I spoke with Turner and he was super helpful in walking me through the options available to me. I finally select the 15" JBL power speaker and a Aggressor dance light which was perfect for the size of the room. In fact he even throw in the 3.5mm to 1/4" cable which meant that we were ready to plug and play the moment we got the equipment home.
Let's just say the party of "Legendary!" and I definitely see myself renting from here again... -

Our foundation sponsored a workshop on Friday, June 10th, 2011 and we rented the podium and a wireless microphone from SJ AV Rentals. Words cannot express my gratitude to these folks. Their customer service is amazing, something hard to come by these days.
The person who volunteered to help me with the tech stuff had a problem and he had to call AV Rentals. The young man there spent a good 15 mnts on the phone with him helping him to resolve the issue. All the staff I spoke with and experienced in person were awesome! Very polite, courteous and very friendly. The podium was really good looking (not like the one we rented last time) and the equipment was all in perfect condition. I have to also mention that their prices are much better, by far, than most. I looked around so you can trust me on this one.
All in all, I highly recommend using this company. I'm really happy we did and I hope you will be too.

I needed a PA for an event from 6-9pm on a weeknight.
SJ AV Rental charged me $130.00 for a large PA speaker, a wireless mic, all the necessary cables, carrying cases, and a stand.
Not to mention, they have an AWESOME OFFICE. The guy inside let me walk around and check out the sign memorabilia from Guns N Roses, ACDC, and others.
Mic worked great, was simple to set up, and SJ AV let me return it the next afternoon. I had it for about 24 hours.
Definitely coming back when I need another PA. -

These guys are so nice. I described the party I was throwing and the location and they took the time to explain exactly what kind of sound system I'd need.
We were throwing a 2-day event way out in the boonies of Northern California and so we had a few different set ups and we had to do it all ourselves. They walked us through all the equipment and how to set it up and what to be careful of. We had no trouble and it all worked out perfectly!
Also, the price was very fair. I was completely happy with this deal!

We rented a couple lavalier mic's from San Jose AV Rentals. The mics worked great, they asked about how I was going to connect them, and made sure the special cables were there. Everyone was very nice, friendly and easy to deal with, they even mailed me a receipt -- thanks guys!
Without a doubt, we will definitely go to these guys next time we need to rent AV equipment. -

These guys did a fantastic job with the audio setup for our wedding. I called them the week of the event when it turned out a couple of our other audio options fell through. Turner really took care of us, providing a simple, easy-to-use package including a wireless mic, a line-in jack (to stream music from an MP3 player), and two powerful speakers that could fill a room of 150 people. The total cost was fairly high ($315) but I was happy to pay it because these guys are complete professionals. Turner was very responsive both via email and phone, and the delivery and pickup of the equipment went off without a hitch (it may have helped that he had worked with the Pacific Athletic Club venue before). We used a lot of different vendors for our wedding and San Jose AV Rentals were one of the easiest to deal with and most competent. Recommended.

I needed a karaoke player for my husband's birthday party. San Jose AV Rentals made it easy. I rented the player complete with songs, two mics, and all necessary cables. Turner gave me a great tutorial on the equipment and interface so I could just go home and get the party started. An excellent alternative to going to karaoke places that won't allow for food or alcohol.

I rented a large screen (I already had a projector, borrowed from a friend) for a slide show at my son's wedding, and I was very happy working with SJ AV Rentals. Not only are their prices much cheaper than a competitor I checked with, their customer service is outstanding. These guys really went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed and knew how to use it, etc. All of them were very, very helpful and friendly ... a real pleasure to do business with. I am especially impressed with a lot of the thoughtful little extra things they did -- just one example: on the afternoon I was going to pick up the equipment, they gave me a call just to see what time I was coming because they needed to do a delivery at a certain time and no one would be in the office for about an hour. So I was able to arrange a convenient time to do the pick-up. That's an example of great customer service.
