This has been a great go-to spot for me since our office moved across the street in 2007. The staff here is excellent, the selection is great and the food is perfect every time. My favorite part about going here is actually the owner/manager. He is one of the nicest people, always has a smile for us.

This review is for the San Francisco Soup Company food truck that comes to Levi's - although I believe they have the same menu as their retail stores.
The egg salad sandwich left much to be desired -- boring and dry. It reminded me of fake egg salad, like the kind you make with tofu. And I wish they'd be a little more creative than one leaf of lettuce on the sandwich. The potato leek soup was basic, but tasted yummy. The generous slice of sourdough bread on the side almost makes up for the price of $4.15 for a small soup. I had a chocolate chip cookie too. I'd call it average.
The service was fine, except the order line takes SO LONG! Once you order, you do get your food pretty quickly, but the order taker, David, needs to pick up the pace!
Next time I'll stick just to soup, or with Levi's cafeteria ($1.95 for a small soup). -

Their soup and bread is pretty great. Solid and delicious.
However. The breakfast? Horrible. The breakfast sandwich? A disgrace to breakfast sandwiches. I had to throw the disgusting looking egg slab away, along with pieces of the "ham" which actually looked a lot more like fake turkey. The bread was crusty and old and the cheese looked old as well. Even a hefty dose of Tapatio couldn't really salvage the mess. Avoid breakfast. Get soup. The end. -

Some Yelpers are officially retarded.
Who goes here thinking it's a breakfast place, thus giving it 3 stars? Or, even worse, who calls this place a "solid soup joint" and then gives it a measly 3 stars? And then, you have the 1 star review... comparing the "serive" to that of Mc Donald's.. I suppose they mean service... umm no comment..
This place is a solid soup AND salad joint. The lines are reasonable at almost any time and they move fast. I must admit, this is my "go to" spot for an amazing unbelievable home made tasting lunch that is affordable and quick and there's literally one on every corner in the Fidi.
They also let you taste all of their soups and their salads are second to none. I usually make my own salad with dark greens and blue cheese ummm..
This place is definitely the BEST lunch place you'll find in the fidi for under $10.Listed in: Lunch in the FiDi

I come here quite often, especially when it's winter time in SF and all I want is a hot, steamy bowl of soup. $6 is a bit steep for a bowl of soup, but I'm in love with the sourdough bread that comes with it so I don't really mind. The bread is perfectly toasted on the outside and soft in the inside, and I think i may like the bread more than the soup haha.Favorite soup so far is the Chicken Tikki Masala soup, which is very similar in flavor to the actual dish, and is rich enough to make as a dipping sauce for the bread. Oh and be careful, the samples/soup are really really hot, I burned my tongue last night, not fun at all.

Great soup, hence the name...duh. Sandwiches and salads...ehh not so much. They are good but definitely NOT what you should be getting if going here.
This place is great for lunch, or even to take home! They are all over the financial district and pretty hard to miss.
Best thing: chicken tortilla soup...my kryptonite. -

I love soup. Love, love it - almost as much as I like saying "Man-hattan Clam-mmm Chow-dah" . I pretend like I have an accent, but I'm just silly.
I like the traditional New England clam chowder, but the Manhattan is my favorite. It's more of a brothy, tomato-based Clam Chowder with chunks of red skinned Potatoes, celery, carrots, and lots of tender clams.
Another reason to love it? The Manhattan Clam Chowder is only 144 Calories with 2g of fat, compared to the New England at 449 Calories and 29g of fat. That's enough to convince this Sea-foodie calorie watcher to opt for the lighter chowdah!

Huge line makes for a middle school cafeteria feel and the food is about as bad. I got the pesto turkey sandwich against my better judgement. While the pesto was good with a deliciously sweet undercurrent (probs sun dried tomatoes), the soggy bread killed the experience. I ate it as fast as possible and moved onto my turkey chili, which was far far worse. It had the consistency and texture of diarrhea because unlike ground beef that clumps ground turkey must disintegrate into copious particles making for horrible eating experience. The $0.99 chili at Wendy is far better and $2.50 cheaper. Avoid at all costs. Though I used a gift card at $8 for the combo, I felt I'd paid way to much for what I got. I'm not a grab and go and lunch at my desk person. If I was I might return to try other soups given the high praise on yelp, but I can't help but wonder how even one of SF Soup company's offerings could be of so poor quality when soup is your namesake.

My office is in this building to the SF Soup Company is sorta the default lunch place to go when I'm short on time and forgot to bring lunch with me. I really love their vegan corn chowder (though I'm not vegan so I ask them to add a little cheese) but every other soup I've tried I've been disappointed with. I do also like them for breakfast, the oatmeal is hearty and they have a good mix if toppings for it. Their danishes are actually some of the best I've had other than at an actual bake shop. I like that they sell little refillable soup containers and considered buying one but was disappointed to find they only sell the large size. A "regular" soup is plenty of lunch for me.

There's no love in any of the soups I've had here. They all have a similar gelatinous consistency and the flavors are pretty bland. Soup always sounds like a good idea for lunch on a cold San Francisco day, but I always leave here disappointed.

Solid soup joint, rising to the top of the lunchtime options on those cold and San Fran rainy days. Their very popular Chicken Tortilla soup is good, though if it matters any to you it's tomato-based rather than chicken stock. I suggest you order yours without chips and ask them to add onion, it makes it a little lighter and the zing of onion makes it so much better. Because they use tortillas in the soup recipe you won't miss the flavor.
I like that they post the nutritional information on their website; no fooling around by marketing all their soups as "a healthy alternative" to other lunchtime fare. You can elect to order a Potato Cheddar and Bacon soup knowing that it's loaded with fat and calories or on the other end of the spectrum, "Grandma Mary's" chicken soup - which aint like mom's but it's still good. Sadly, only some of their stores have a low-cal salad dressing option.
If you have a healthy appetite it can be hard to believe that a "regular" (small) soup with a salad and complimentary roll or slice of sour dough is going to be enough to fill you up -- it really does. And it qualifies as a cheap lunch by FiDi standards. It'd be even cheaper if they didn't insist on organic ingredients in some of their soups but I get that many SFers demand their organics.
They offer free tastings and you really ought to take full advantage of it.
If you plan to eat at your desk, SFSC is an excellent option. Zap the soup in the micro to heat and eat throughout a busy afternoon in the office. -

I ate the worst breakfast ever so that you dont have to, and now Im going to tell you all about it!
In all fairness, the SF Soup Co makes a fine bowl of soup, and has fairly good sandwiches, as well. Their staff is very friendly, the place is clean, and the location is perfect. This review is not about my usual experience with this business at all, but a rare and unfortunate breakfast experience.
A word of warning:
Do not ever make the mistake of thinking that the San Francisco Soup Company makes breakfast. What emerges from their microwave... is easy to describe. I don't even have to think about it, nor will any of you when you read this. *It was worse than Lee's breakfast*.
That should be the end of the critique, but then this would be brief. I cant have that. For those who dont know, Lee's is the most consistently mundane breakfast and lunch spot in the universe, but somehow always satisfies and... oh yeah; its cheap.
The SF Soup Co's marketing hype makes the totally outrageous claim that "You will wish it was a weekday every day!" because they serve this only on weekday mornings. They also show you this delicious looking sandwich which bears no resemblance to what you are served. This sandwich would have inmates and school children turning their noses up. Both of those groups have similarly unrefined palates and are generally held captive by their respective lunch-ladies, and so they seemed perfect to use as a reference in this case.
Nothing about this was good. The muffin was stale and barely even warmed up, the egg brick inside was terrible and tasted more like tofu than egg, the ham slices (they have no bacon) were rubbery and virtually tasteless, the musty cheddar cheese was partially melted at its center, but not anywhere else, and for some damn reason, they plopped roughly a tablespoon full of pasta sauce (or tomato paste??) between the muffin and cheese. The combination of flavors was like something out of a late-night blackout recipe by yours truly, not something a totally sane, sober person would prepare and attempt to sell to other people.
Utter and complete garbage, and I paid 5 and change!!!!!! Stay away from SF Soup Co's breakfast.
For consistently yummy soup, salad, and good, friendly people, come to the SF Soup Co. -

I firmly believe that for an average person, one of the hardest times in your life is when you're in college. You're probably in a new city with new people and new challenges and no parents and no money, and nothing really to either challenge you to succeed or to keep you afloat when you fall. Your body is changing and you're learning to adapt to a more communal way of living and you're learning self-responsibility and financial responsibility and adaptation and people-skills and socializing and over-stimulation, all under the guise of education.
College was tough for me. At one point, I realized that despite balancing school and social life and three jobs, I had a whopping total of 59 cents in my checking account. 59 MEASLY CENTS. So when you're a poor kid in college, the first thing you can forgo is food. So I lasted probably around 4 days mooching ramen and spaghetti-os and mac & cheese off of friends, until finally I felt guilty and decided really to eat whatever was left in my fridge.
And I found a pack of frozen hotdogs in my freezer. So I took one hot dog out and boiled it in a pot and ate it for lunch. A couple hours later, I took another hot dog out and boiled it in the same pot for dinner. And I was still hungry but couldn't rationalize eating another hot dog since I had three more days to go until I got paid. So what did I do? I did what any starving college student would do at the time.
I drank the hot dog water.
Yes. I was desperate. I rationalized it to myself. "It's Hot Dog Soup." I would say. Yes, I realize how morally and physically depraved I was. Yes, I realize how disgusting and utterly putrid it seems.
But - one thing it had going for it. My Hot Dog Soup had more taste in it than any of the bland white-bread blah blah soups at overpriced plastic unfulfilling San Francisco Soup Company.
So don't fucking judge me. Because you know how much my Hot Dog Soup cost me? A WHOPPING ZERO OF MY PRECIOUS FIFTY NINE CENTS.
I effing Pwn3d college. And Life, in general, as well. -

Their signature soups are all great: Mexican Tortilla, Corn Chowder and Turkey Chili are probably my favorites out of the bunch. But they pale in comparison to one of their specials. The roasted chicken and corn chowder is ...well, let's just say that I could have it every day for lunch and not grow tired of it.
If you're like me and waltz in here 2-3 days a week, another great special is the Chicken Pozole. It's light, flavorful and fresh.
I definitely have to note that the service here is always top notch. They are so friendly and never get upset with me for "tasting" all the specials...even when they know I've tasted the same one just yesterday. What? Sometimes even though something tastes amazing, you don't want a whole bowl of it...just a taste! -

All women love when something hits just the right spot.
Not all women love quickies.
As a woman who appreciates a quickie that also always hits the spot, I venture down to one of the many Soup Co's by my office for an afternoon delight.
It's just easy; a total no brainer.
+ Free Tasters (fun, even when you already know what you want)
+ Coke Zero on tap- Hallelujah!
+ Less than $6.50
+ Sourdough bread- dip as freely and rudely as you want
& the #1 reason.......
+ it's ASS friendly! Low-fat is often synonymous with shittay taste, but even the soups marked with a "L" still manage to hit the spot even without full-fat-flavor. Absolutely love the Chicken Artichoke Sundried Tomato Soup, but my fall-back is always the Mexican Chicken Tortilla Soup (with chips and cheese). Tomato Bisque, while not so ass-friendly, is still yum yum yum. Super size your ass and get the chips and cheese on the Tomato Bisque. Uber yum.

Soup is generally something I don't buy for lunch, mainly because I love to cook and I can make a mean motha fricking soup. However, I had a coupon from Groupon that I had purchased, so stopped by on Friday to check it out.
First of all, no lines, but I was there at 1:30PM on the Friday before the long weekend. I chose the tomato basil out of a list of 8 or so choices that were available. I also asked for a half of an egg salad sandwich, and was directed to the cooler, where they had pre-made half sandwiches.
Well, the soup was fabulous - really creamy and uber-tomato tasting. Unfortunately, the sandwich was kinda weak. I think that was because it was probably made around 8AM that morning and sat in the cooler for the next several hours. The salad itself was OK, but the lettuce was a big honking white part of a head of iceberg lettuce, and the bread was really soggy. Ecchh...
Not sure if I'd go back, simply because it's expensive, and as I mentioned, I like to make my own soup. Maybe if I get lazy and rich I'll stop in again. -

As part of my heads-up wt loss comp vs. Matt Grolle (32.8 lbs in 10 wks, then 56 lbs total), I had SF Soup Co every day. Even after the comp was over, I'm still there every day. No higher "full and satisfied / healthy" ratio out there..not with salads, crash diets, anything.
Can you go to the same place for lunch EVERY day? YES YOU CAN! SF Soup Co's specials always give you a new soup to try, typically 2-3 low fat specials per day, and 6 or 7 total specials each day.
Daily menu posted online BY LOCATION, you can look up daily specials, and nutrition info. Here are a few low-fat stars, in addition to the mex chicken tortilla and split pea which are both terrific. In descending order of awesomeness:
Beef Barley Portobello: Incredibly, this has only 5g of fat in a regular. Creamy and flavorful, with lg chunks of beef and portobello, this will fill you up w/o breaking a sweat. Also a special "tang" that might come from cooking with wine or some type of vinegar. Terrific!
Roasted Tomato Eggplant: Perfect soup for those on a diet. Not only the healthiest thing they serve, but tastes very fresh and even gives you a little spice to complement the flavor. Well done.
Burgundy Chicken: Amazingly aromatic, jumps out of the bowl. Like a "souped-up" French Onion - HUGE flavor. A little salty. Mushrooms add great texture.
Chicken Shiitake with Boy Choy: This one is awesome...nice and spicy with balanced flavors. Can't go wrong with Shiitake and Boy Choy. And the kicker...3g of fat and 115 calories? Too good to be true.
French Onion: Simple yet tasty. Really sweet, almost like candy. Very low in calories and almost no fat. Get the sourdough roll with this one....the flavors pair perfectly.
Med. Lentil Stew w/potato and spinach: Spinach adds a ton of flavor. Hearty meal, I was full after just a regular. This one made me up the stars to 5 (I was against giving any lunch place 5 stars, but I think this is well deserved).
Grandma Mary's Chicken Soup: Comfort food indeed. Big chunks of roasted chicken, seasoned perfectly. Hints of dill come through in the seasoning. Healthy too!
Southwestern Corn Chowder: Creaminess is the real kicker here. Fresh corn taste, and it's buttery smooth. The touch of spice is still not enough for me (I like it REALLY hot), so I juiced it a bit with Tabasco.
Chili Verde with Pork: The flavors from the chilies really shine through. The pork was a little tougher than I expected (was imagining more of a pulled-pork texture), but this is a very satisfying soup. The spice and cilantro are great (I got extra cilantro). Very high on my list of favorites.
Black Bean Chili: Healthy and hearty. No big surprises, but low in fat and calories and fills you up easily. No need for a larger here, Regular size is a meal!
Hearty Garden Miso: "Hearty" is key to this one; you usually think of Miso as mainly broth; this is chalk full of veggies. Plenty of Shiitakes, no expense spared here. Filling and lowest calorie of all.
Thai Cucumber with Honeydew (chilled): Refreshing. Hint of pineapple and coconut, almost like you're lapping up a virgin pina colada. Perf for a hot day, the honeydew adds a touch of sweetness.
Roasted Chicken w/ Summer Squash: The chicken is roasted...not cheap little cut-up cubes but nice lg natural chunks. Lots of protein and also guilt free. You can taste the lime.
Indian Lentil: Balance of flavors, but I'd prefer more spice. Not many of their soups are labeled "spicy" at SF Soup Co. Looks like they dumb down a few for "American palates." Note to those who serve Indian food: Not all of us are weenies.
Manhattan Clam: Lots of veggies, it's water-based but you don't sense it since the chunks of veggies are so large and plentiful. Filling with very little fat.
Organic Savory Lentil: Simple lentil with full, savory flavors and the comfort of organic farming practices. Low in fat and fills you up!
Creole Vegetable: Nice variety of veggies, love the okra and there are a few in here I can't pinpoint.
Grilled Chicken with Roast Corn Chowder - A chowder soup with 2g of fat, 'nuff said.
Hearty Beef with Vegetables - Nothing wrong with this, but tough to stand up against the rest of the SFSoupCo lineup. Fairly "uninspired," but a good low fat option. My serving lacked beef, only a few bits in there.
Chilled Avocado and Cucumber - Buttery smooth, almost too thick for a chilled soup. Really creamy, although that's coming from avocado so at least it's good fat. A little too heavy on the avocado for my taste, although I haven't had this soup that many times.
And now, the higher fat ones, in order of awesomeness:
Carribean Sweet Potato: Creamy, almost like a curry, prob has coconut. Damn near a delicacy; sweet and rich.
Thai Curry w/ Chicken: Really tasty. Coconut-y and balanced. Tastes much lighter than the fat content would imply. I had to add Tobasco, but I like it spicy. Probably dummed down for "American"1 Previous Review: Show all »

Mmmmm-mmmmm gooder than Cambell's ANY day uh da week!
Today I had the Zucchini and Bleu Cheese soup. It sounded really weird, so I asked for a sample (they're so cool about the sampling!) and it was sooooooo good I bought myself a nice healthy portion to go with my sandwich ... and my roll ... and my fruit salad ... and my banana ... and my water. Yes; I am a truly BIG eater. I love food, A LOT. ... and when I want comfort food, I go to SF Soup Co. to get it.
The staff at this location are very nice, too.

Today was my first time trying out the SF Soup Company chain. I chose the Battery location because it was on the way to La Salsa which is where my co-workers were going for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this place offers more than just soup. I've been recovering from a very bad cold and was craving some good old chicken soup - luckily that was on the signature soup menu for today!
I ordered a quart (that's right a quart!) of chicken soup for $8.99.
The soup had generous portions of tender chicken meat (both white and dark meat), carrots and potatoes. The broth was tasty and served hot. It definitely hit the spot! -

I love soup and SF Soup Company has a variety of soups - there are 7 standard soups and at least 6 special soups everyday. They also have 1-2 organic soup which is a nice option. The Battery location is perfect because it's near the office and the service is quick and friendly. They even let you sample during the busy lunch hour.
They have 3 sizes for soup: regular, large and a quart! Yes, a quart - great for those sick days and you still have to be at work.
I like the large soup and half sandwich combo for $6.95. The egg salad sandwich is super yummy and the soups are flavorful. Most of the soups are filled with potatoes and other veggies to guaranteed you'll be full. I wasn't as impressed with their Italian Wedding soup which is only of my fav compared to Au Bon Pain. It was too watery. I don't think they have a bread bowl option either which is always a craving when it's a rainy day.
Sign up for their daily e-mails and you'll know which soup are at each location. There's also a daily winner for free soup - although I have never won. All the nutrition information is on their web site as well. -

Any other soup with curry or spices
They make great soup here, they are friendly, and they have hot sauce for you to put in it.
How do you make it better? Sell rice on the side instead of in the bowl. That way, I can have all my yummy soup and get some rice to go in it.
Oh, and if you want to have some fun, get a scoop of the mac and cheese with the rest tomato soup. Ahhh, heaven... like a grilled cheese drown in a bowl of soup. -

This place has some great soups, but some not so good ones too. One of my favorites is the Mexican Tortilla Soup. Not a fan of the Clam Chowder or the Split Pea. The peas were hard and crunchy and kind of gross and bland. And it's a little pricey for soup.
Anyway, even though the line goes out the door at this place, they frickin' book it. And you get to taste stuff before you buy it which is good. -

I used to work downtown and there's about 3 locations within a 5 minute walk of my office. Popping my head in to check the soups of the day, I'd face a yummy assortment fo smells that would blow the nearby burrito, Chinese, and sandwich and salad places out of the water.
No time for breakfast? SF Soup Company has a delicious yogurt, fruit and granola parfait for breakfast (although once Martha and Bros moved in to their SOMA location, it was a toss up whose was better)
Lunchtime....ahhhh piping hot soup! I love their Tomato Bisque, MInestrone, and Veg Tortilla Soup. I see they've expanded their list of signature soups and I'm dying to try their Cream of Exotic Mushroom........
Now that I work on the Peninsula, it's not so near by, so I've subscribed to their daily email, hoping against hope that one day, I'll be a free soup winner, which will give me the excuse to hop over to East Palo Alto to claim my free bowl of yummy goodness.......... -

Sometimes you just want soup and SF Soup delivers. Their soups are decent some better than others. The lines can be a bit long during lunch time, but they do move quickly. The fruit salads and sandwiches are ok (I tend only order combos). Their soups don't dazzle me or some other reviewers yet I think they are worth the occasional visit.

One word: Addicted.
I'm not sure if its the proximity to my office, the manager that says "next in line please" with an accent or just that the soups are REALLY good, but I literally go here 4 times a week. My staples are smoky split pea and Turkey Chili but I mixed it up today with a chicken, portabella mushroom and bock choy concoction wich was delish.
Definitely one of my favorite financial district lunch spots.... The only thing is that there are many fair-weather or should i say dismal weather fans and the line gets long when its cold out.

I needed soup. Being as sick as I was (with nobody to grab any soup for me), I had to get to the closest soup place available and that was SF soup company. I didn't want anyone to see me as sickly as I was, so it was nice I could get there by almost not being seen, except by my annoying doorman.
Hoodie over my head, I step into the store was was relieved that at 3:30pm there was not a soul there to see how miserable I looked. I tried the Caribbean sweet potato and almost felt as good as new. This was the exact type of soup I was craving, full of good for you antioxidants. Yum! I will def be back even when I am not sick. -

OMG... the Indian Mulligatawny is my new favorite soup at the SF Soup Co. and I will try to back early enough for more.
I had never seen it on the menu and thought what an odd name.... Mulligatawny, Mulligatawny, Mulligatawny. I took a sample and I just went "wow, this is good," and ordered it to go.
It's a "lightly seasoned curried chicken and lentil soup with apples, carrots, celery and coconut Milk" and its the perfect soul-warmer for a windy SF day. It's dairy and gluten-free but more importantly, very hearty and super tasty.
I seldom get to the Soup Co. early enough to have the specialty soups but I'm glad I made it this time to have some Mulligatawny. -

Here is the deal.
For soup to be a complete meal is new to me. But I guarantee it will fill you plenty full at SFSC.
Tips:
Between the hours of 11am-1pm, the place gets pretty full. But the soup guys will move everyone through fast- so don't let the line deter you.
Suggestions:
You can not go wrong with the Mexican Tortilla soup. All the soups look, taste and smell phenomenal, but this one is my top favorite.
Parking:
Lots of transit to get you here so don't even try to drive. Unless you want to park in a garage which will cost you more than your lunch.
Little note:
The soup ranges around $7. Little pricey for soup but well worth it. Plus they throw in a nice chunk of sourdough bread.
You've just been yelped in. -

This place sells soup like meals. $6+ for a mini cup of soup and bread??? They must be making a boatload of money. Although soup to me seems "cheap" and I think Campbell's canned soups, SF Soup Co actually has a great selection of soup that are fresh and tasty. They got classics like clam chowder and chicken noodle but also some new world creations. Good for the sick and cold weather for the comfy feeling.

So everyone in my office comes here for soups because hey, they have a big selection and it's right around the corner. The soup is decent but I was underwhelmed. I felt like I could have gotten fresh soup from Whole Foods to heat up for lunch and it would have been much better.
Update: Okay, I just got the chicken tortilla soup and it was basically tomato soup with pieces of chicken in it and tortilla strips on top. Totally gross. How come it is so difficult to find a good chicken tortilla soup here? It's one of the few things I miss about Texas. -

There is something about ordering soup when I'm out that makes me nervous.
I don't know why, and I'm in no way suggesting this place, or any place for that matter isn't up to code. But it's one of those paranoid diner's quirks I have. I really worry about a warm liquid sitting in a warm pot for hours on end, being dipped in and out of like...well, we won't go there.
But I overcame my issues and went here for lunch last week. The menu looked great, and their daily specials sounded intriguing. And for $5, I was full for the rest of the day. I had the southwestern corn chowder, and I was amazed that it was dairy free and low fat; it was so rich and creamy I could have sworn it was packed with butter, cream, cheese, sour cream. and everything else that makes life worth living. But it wasn't. It was completely delicious, took the chill off the foggy San Francisco summer day, and didn't make a dent in my wallet. I'll be back for sure, -

They are cool about you getting samples to try the soup of the day so you don't get stuck being adventurous...
Great place to go for lunch. -

They would offer to add rice to your soup. I was soo surprised! I also thought that was cool. Love a little rice in my soup.
A tiny cup filled me up quickly. This branch is clean and the staff are really sweet.
This branch is close to the Le Meridien Hotel and is within a walking distance. -

This spot made me briefly miss Chicago's ridiculously tasty, friendly Soupbox. Even though I would regularly walk past it, knowing I had an inferior can of Campbell's available back at my apartment.
Decent, fast soup at a decent price. I was happy with my recent pick of lentil, and glad that the board indicates vegetarian/low-fat/spicy/etc options. I regretted adding a hummus wrap at the last minute, and would have been fine picking up a piece of fresh fruit while standing in line to pay. Plenty of seating is an added bonus on a cloudy, soup-inducing sort of day. -

Who doesn't want to come here to enjoy a bowl of soup on a cold day? Being that it is San Francisco, it is cold often and so I come here often too! I always get the Mexican Tortilla with all the fixings (chips, cheese and cilantro)! A regular bowl will run you under $6, which is an awesome deal for lunch in the financial district! Service is always pretty quick and there is ample seating as well. They also have so many locations all over San Francisco that you never have to walk too far to get to one!

I always get the tomato bisque. Always. Sometimes there are other better soups but I always get the tomato bisque. Then I hit the newstand at 1EC for a bag of Fritos to go with.... YUM! -

A decent (I seem to use that word a lot) breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese, and sundried tomato spread on an english muffin.
