Ooo ... SF from the air in a seaplane.  It sounded like a good idea so we had to try it at least once.  Now that I've tried it, what do I think?  I'm going to have to do this again soon!

It's not a cheap adventure but definitely worth it.  Call Jaime at their main line and she'll help you make your reservation.  You can drive yourself to their base in Mill Valley or they'll send Jaime to pick you up from Pier 39 in their van.  Be nice to Jaime - she does everything but fly the planes and still manages to keep a smile on her face!

The flight was amazing!  It was easily the smoothest plane flight I've EVER taken - much better than any of the commercial flights I've been on.  It was foggy on the day we went and we were worried that the views would be obscured.  On the contrary - the fog added dimension to the views!  I'm so glad I took my camera and even happier that I went digital so that I didn't lose any shots while I was reloading film.

Notes for Photographers:  I got some great shots from the port-side (left, if facing forward) seats.  I'm not sure if they always follow the same flight path but we did a counter-clockwise circle around SF.  This meant that I had great views of SF, PacBell Park and Angel Island.  The other side had better views of the bridges and Oakland but I had my telephoto lens so I just shot across my friend through the other window.  The best advice is to ask Jaime and she'll help you get a seat with the view you want.

I'm definitely going to have to go back for the sunset flight next !

This was my best birthday present ever. You get incredible views of all of San Francisco. What could be better than a chartered flight over the city by the Bay? This is really a no brainer. The Pilot was the coolest guy, and had some neat stories to tell. I learned so much about San Francisco, and saw some incredible sights. Will post pics.

Tip: Get the champagne special ;) And DON'T FORGET YOUR CAMERA!

For the absolute best views of the city you must reach for the sky.  My friends bought me a ticket for my bday and we all went up together in a 6 seater seaplane for a 1 hour ride.  It was s foggy day, but when is it not foggy in San Francisco.  I was so busy taking pictures the first 45 minutes that my brain didn't realize that my stomach it was upside down.  The last 15 minutes of the flight were quite interesting and I say this to warn any of you with motion sickness or a fear of flying.  Although, I'd do it again in a heartbeat!
