This is an awesome group of people that was put together by an awesome and inspireing motivator, Paul Greer. He is always there to give you advice when you need it and is able to scale his advice to any persons level of experience.
He also has magical powers that allow him to teleport to 12 different points along the Rock n Roll Marathon course durring the race to cheer everybody on. With that many road closures, he must have mad back road driving skills. Must have been a cabbie in a past life...

I've been an on-again, off-again Track Club member for years. It's the largest running club in the United States, right here in Sunny SD. Like many folks, I joined as part of their excellent Rock 'n' Roll marathon program, an intensive six-month commitment that gets progressively more challenging as the weather gets nicer.
The Track Club is deceptively named. While there are weekly coached track workouts (Tuesday nights at Balboa Stadium), to me the organization is more about recreational running, some great races (they sponsor several per year) and meeting fellow runners.
This isn't a snooty elitist group of ultra-marathoners (although there are some high-profile members). By and large, the members are friendly and accessible locals who love to run.

The San Diego Track Club is great.
More importantly, their Coach, Paul Greer, is one of the most amazing people on the planet. His constant support and encouragement is overwhelming ... and from anyone with less conviction in his actions than him they would play off as trite and hollow.
The Club has almost nothing to do with Track (though they do work on one one for about 6 months a year), but rather with Marathon and Half Marathon training. The primary event that most people join for is the Rock'n'Roll marathon. They have an ENORMOUS group that trains for it and they do a great job preparing them for the event.
SDTC is also the first organization to ever host a Triathlon, and has a lenghty and storied history.
Love this group, and their coach.
Go Paul!
