An 'ex' gave me a pair of ruby earrings way back when. One of the ruby's fell out and I took the earrings into Samuels to have it replaced. When I went in pick up the earrings today the associate overcharged me for some earrings backings I also purchased. I was back at my office when I noticed the error. Linea McPherson the Assistant Manager and the original person I spoke with when I dropped off the earrings called me just a few minutes ago to let me know she was reversing the $75 of the $144 charge because of the mistake.

Needless to say I was very impress and happy to not have to go back in and complain about the overage amount.

So, next time you need to buy that special someone a nice gift, think about Samuels, they're an honest reputable establishment.

I've always liked Samuel's - we even bought our wedding rings there - but this really isn't the best branch.  Their senior associates tend to be knowledgable, and they really work with you.

However, every time I've gone in there, they have some sort of trainee who makes me leave feeling like crap, so I've never bought anything from this particular store.  Last weekend, while one person was answering my questions about a ring I wanted, the trainee offered to clean our rings.  When she got back, she pulled out a jeweller's loupe and started awkwardly gawking at my diamond.  She finally found what she was looking for, I guess, because her eyes brightened up and she started furiously describing a "carbon" in my ring.  My husband almost laughed in her face - aren't diamonds made of carbon?  Still, we let that go, and politely tried to let her know that yes, we knew that the diamond was VS1, so it wasn't perfectly pure, and we don't mind.  She didn't listen to us (personal pet peeve:  salespeople who don't listen) and kept pointing out the flaw, then tried to show me the flaw in another ring from the case, then started laughing at me because I couldn't see it.

She lost a sale that day because of  her lack of tact and professionalism.

I still love the store, and their newest collection is really nice.  They would do well, however, to improve their training program - this isn't the first time a trainee has lost them a sale.
