A great small town restaurant with quality food, big portions, and the best Italian cheesecake in the world. Well worth a visit.

I've only become acquainted with Sam's in the past few years, but its been a Dobbs Ferry institution for like 40 years. My mom tells me that this was the go-to dinner place on Friday nights growing up. Nowadays we frequent this place when visiting grandma, who's as much as institution as the restaurant itself.
Everything is what you'd expect of a typical Italian restaurant. Paper placemats with local advertising, crusty (yet slightly stale) Italian bread, and fantastic red sauce (gravy!). I like the stuffed shells. My husband liked the baked ziti. Its a toss up between the two which is better. Its all good.
And the pizza.... some of the best freaking pizza I have ever had. We always grab a pie and drive it home to Massachusetts with us to have for dinner after a long drive home from a weekend in NY. After all, cold NY pizza is better than no NY pizza.Listed in: i big puffy heart pizza.
