Suisun City, CA
I literally just left Sam's chinese restaurant. The dining area is really small because they mainly do to go orders and deliveries. The server was really friendly. We ordered crab wontons, mongolian beef, orange beef, bbq pork chow mein and rice. ALL FOR 29.26. GOOD DEAL! the food was good and so was the service. Next time, i'd order to go just because its so quiet in there.

This place is good and uses very fresh ingredients.
My personal favorites are the General Tso's chicken lunch special, Mongolian Beef lunch special, Or the order of potstickers (*extra crispy) Which are home made and sooooooooo yum-tastic!!
My only gripe is that even if you call ahead your order like 20 minutes in advance you will stil be waiting when you get there which is not so hot to my supervisor seeing as I only have 30 minutes for lunch =o[ -

I am a big fan of this place. I really like the service which is always friendly and prompt. They do delivery also, which nowadays, you can't really expect that anymore from Chinese Restaurants. My b.f. and I are always craving chinese so we went online and tried to look for a place that delivers, and we stumbled on this website, http://www.eat24hour.com. We saw that there's a Chinese restaurant nearby and decided to try them.
Wow, we were so happy we did! We love their food. Our favorites are the Mongolian Beef, the beef fried rice, the hot and sour soup, the sweet and sour pork, Chicken Chow Mein, and the coconut shrimps. They're all too good! You won't be disappointed! We've also tried the Kung Pao Chicken, the Curry Chicken, the Szechuan Chicken, and the Sesame Chicken. All are very good too. The Kung Pao wasn't too hot and Curry chicken was really tasty!
This place gives a hefty amount of food in each order and they are pretty prompt when delivering. The restaurant itself is small. It's cozy, but too small for my taste. I'd rather sit in my home and eat, than the restaurant. But other than that, this place has great friendly service and cooks great food! -

This is in my opinion, the only decent Chinese Restaurant in Vacaville. My fiance stumbled upon http://www.eat24hour.com and found this restaurant highly rated. We decided to try the restaurant and the food was good. We were happy to finally find a decent Chinese restaurant in Vacaville. We had the bbq pork buns, potstickers, wonton soup, honey walnut prawns, mongolian beef, and the bbq pork fried rice. If you're in Vacaville and in the mood for Chinese, Sam's Chinese Restaurant is the way to go. Oh, they deliver too!

Decided to give this place a try. Really liked the online ordering makes it very easy. They do charge $4 for delivery not the $1.75 they list on the website during order which is kinda misleading but whatever.
We ordered the Crab Rangoon, fried wonton with cream cheese and crab in the center. They were tasty but I didn't taste much crab?
We also ordered Sam's chow mein, Sam's fried rice, and the mu shu pork. The 2 Sam's dishes had good meat in it and tasted very fresh. My woman loved it.
I thought the chow mein had a bit too much soy sauce in it but it was still edible. I grew up on Japanese food and the lady is whiter than a cracker so you can see why she liked it more than I.
The portions are pretty decent good size. The order did arrive on the cold side perhaps they need one of them pizza warmers?
All said and done it costed $32 bucks plus change $34 with tip. -

I'm very dissappointed. I was craving lemon chicken so we decided to try this place...
The fried rice was good.
the potstickers were mde of a yummy thick skin. very strong on the ginger.
the sweet and sour pork was ok...tasted off to me and I bit into a huge peice of grissle.
the lemon chicken was horrible, specifically the sauce. The chicken comes fried with the sauce on the side, totally fine but the sauce was so incredibly sweet!! It was like eatting frosting, not even a hint of lemon!!
Looks like my craving was not satisfied =( -

NomNomNom,
This place is awesome! Finally found a good chinese place in Vacaville! We had the dinner for 3 on Friday and it was really delicious and a ton of food. In particular, I thought there lemon chicken was really creative how they presented it and really good too.
Staff is extremely friendly and provide good service.1 Previous Review: Show all »

People aren't joking about the crab rangoons... they're amazing. Not greasy at all and the mixture or cream cheese and crab is decadent. The other foods that we ordered for take out were also well prepared. It should be mentioned that the portions are substantial. The two dishes that we got more than filled us up for dinner and provided a hearty lunch the following day.
Just don't be a dummy like me and forget to order a side of rice to go with the dishes. -

Date/Time: Monday - 7:30pm
Occasion: Quick dinner on the drive back from Reno
Party of: Five
Location: Located in a dark remote area; hidden amongst businesses. Small, hole in the wall sort of place.
Ordered: Broccoli and chicken, eggplant with garlic sauce, ma-po tofu, garlic pepper spare ribs, sweet and sour spare ribs
Total incl gratuity: $55
Never judge a book by it's cover because this place was simply amaze! I had low expectations for this place when we first pulled up. The location was dingy and surrounded amongst random businesses in Vacaville. My first thought was...this is the epitome of a Chinese restaurant catered towards Caucasians (the menu didn't even come in Chinese! haha). Luckily for us, the waiter spoke Chinese very well. We placed our order and he forewarned us that our food would take a while to come out as they only had one cook back there. I'm glad he gave us the heads up as the wait was rather extensive.
When our first dish arrived (eggplant), I was apprehensive to try. Reason being that I don't like eggplant and two - I wasn't expecting much. I was so wrong. The sauce was so good. It was perfect with the rice and for a change, I actually ate the eggplant and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our whole party was pleasantly surprised. As our next couple of dishes arrived, we took bite after bite and were just utterly shocked at the immensely generous portion and the overwhelmingly good flavor. This definitely was not what we were expecting. The garlic pepper spare ribs and the eggplant (surprisingly) were my favorites.
I strongly recommend this place for the the folks around the area and for those driving back from Reno or Tahoe craving good Chinese food. Next time I'm in Vacaville shopping, I'm seriously going to stop on by. Great good, huge portions, and unbeatable pricing! -

Super delicious pot stickers and Sam's fried rice!
*Pot stickers - jumbo size; thick and homemade skin - love it!
*Sam's fried rice - shrimp, chicken, pork - very flavorful!
I'd go back again!! -

After living in Vacaville for 6 months without finding a good Chinese place(which was sad) we found Sam's by accident and fell in love. we got take out there 3 times in 1 week! They are prompt and always have our food ready when they say. They also have delivery which is amazing!
The Lemon Chicken is amazing, very tasty its sweet and the sauce is on the side so you can make it to your taste. The General chicken is great and full of flavor with perfectly cooked veggies. The BBQ pork Chow Mien is one of the best i have had in a very long time. There Crab Rangoon's and Pot-stickers are also really really good, Not greasy at all and full of flavor with one of the best dipping (juices?) i have ever had. And the Egg Rolls are just right! And the portions are generous. We usually get 1 entree, 1 noodle dish, and a side for 2 people and have leftovers the next day!
I am sad to be moving back to Sac simply because i will be getting Sam's less often! -

What a disappointment! I was expecting a lot more from this place especially since it had such a high rating, but after eating here for dinner I can't imagine giving this place more than 1 star.
Sam's fried rice: Probably the best thing that we ordered and that's saying a lot because everything else was inedible.
Honey walnut shrimp: This dish had way too much MAYO! The shrimp was a decent size, but they were very slimy and had no texture. I would have appreciated a little bit of crunch to balance out all of that mayo. I would rather get honey walnut shrimp at Panda Express and that is sad.
Mongolian beef: SALTY! No flavor just salt.
Spicy salt and pepper calamari: I have had this dish many times at other restaurants and I knew to expect the saltiness, but this dish was overpowered by the salt! The whole point of this dish is balancing the salt, pepper, and spice.
Needless to say, I won't be returning. The prices are reasonable, but the food is not worth it.
I'd rather go to Yen King. -

Date/Time: Monday at 3:45PM (online order, which I picked up)
Occasion: Craving for Chinese and haven't found any consistently good places in Fairfield, CA.
Ordered: Sauteed eggplant with garlic ($6.25), Chicken fried rice ($5.75), Assorted vegetables with chicken ($7.50), BBQ pork chowmein ($5.75), Mongolian beef ($7.75) + free potstickers come with online order of $30 or more.
Staff: Friendly; my order was packed, still warm, and waiting for me.
Packaging: Food was placed in non-styrofoam, clear plastic containers. (impressive, since styrofoam tends to suck all the flavor out of the food).
Our food was very good. Sam's used white meat chicken in both the chicken and vegetable dish and the chicken fried rice. The chicken and vegetables (broccoli, snow peas, mushrooms, water chestnuts, and zuchini) was surprisingly flavorful. The eggplant dish was spicy and good as well, but I thought the menu stated deep fried tofu was part of the dish. Either way, the eggplant was tasty and cooked all the way through. The BBQ pork in the chow mein was tender, with no unnecessary fatty pieces. The Mongolian beef was probably the highlight, exceptionally flavorful, tender and spicy. Some restaurants have a habit of loading this dish with excessive onions, so I indicated minimal onions in my online instructions and was surprised to see that someone actually read my instructions. The potstickers were great, since they came free with the meal. However, I prefer my potstickers with a thinner wrapper and a bit more crispy...maybe I'll specify this the next time. And, yes there will definitely be a next time. I plan on ordering from Sam's again and trying some of the other dishes other reviewers have recommended. -

This place is a very good place to eat. Me and my folks ate here on 8/21/2010 around 8:30pm after a long day of shopping. We ordered The Hongkong Dinner's Special because we were very hungry. The meal was more than we can handle and the price was very affordable. Aside from the great deal, the host was really great. The food isn't as oily as any regular Chinese place.
You have good quality of warm food, a very good host, and really affordable place. I will eat here again when I'm in Vacaville. -

Definitely the best Chinese food in Vacaville. Love the Kung Pao Chicken or General Tao chicken!! The delivery guys are polite and love that they deliver the food in one of those HOT bags. You have to try Sam's at least once and you be the judge of it!!

This place is great and sooo underrated. It's small and hidden, like a treasure cove. there's a million reason why you should go there right now:
1. best chinese food in town, better than china house
2. it's extremely affordable
3. the best fried rice you ever put into your mouth
4. everybody there is extremely friendly
5. their lunch menu is... AMAZING. sweet and sour shrimp (really huge shrimps, by the way) for 5.75, you get your choice of fried rice or steamed, hot sour or egg flower soup, and an egg roll or a couple of potstickers.
6. you have to try their lemon chicken
7. and their wonton soup
okay, it's not a million reasons, but you should give sam's a try anyway.
con:
the only thing i dislike about this place is.... the paint job. neon green walls. -

Who would have thought some of the best Chinese food I've found in California would be near my apartment in Vacaville, of all places? I officially love Sam's Chinese Restaurant, and they are my new go-to delivery place when I'm too tired to cook or go out.
Their food is very reasonably priced, and ordering online is easy and straightforward. Depending on how much money you spend, you get a specified free item with your ordered food! My order always comes within the time parameters noted and is correctly placed, and the delivery people are extremely cordial and friendly.
Oh, and the food? Absolutely delicious! They have a menu with a good variety of Chinese options, ranging from the tried and true to Sam's chef specialties. My favorite is their mango chicken, although I can honestly say i've liked all their food. It tastes very fresh and healthy (well, except for the fried stuff, which isn't healthy!).
I think I can safely say I'm definitely a convert to Sam's Chinese Restaurant.Listed in: Local in Vacaville

Awesome food! I just moved into town recently and found Sam's on Yelp. Sam's is very much hidden so you have to look for it carefully! I loved the fact that this a smaller restaurant and it is not a buffet so everything is fresh. My husband and I ordered 2 appetizers: pot stickers and crab rangoon. BOTH were delicious! As someone mentioned earlier, the crab rangoon is not greasy so that was a nice change from what I've experienced in the past.
I ordered the lemon chicken for an entree and my husband, general tso's chicken. They were both excellent! No dark meat at all!! The quality was awesome and the flavors, to die for! We also ordered vegetable fried rice to split and that was also delicious :) Each entree would have been plenty for 2 people so we really could have gotten away with ordering just 1 of them. At least we have leftovers for tomorrow!
Additionally, the staff was great! Very friendly and professional. Prices were also affordable. You certainly get your money's worth! We will definitely go back in the near future! -

HUGE Potstickers that were offered in lieu of another appetizer they were out of. Location has limited seating, but obviously does a bit of take-out and delivery service due to the stack of internet orders that were on the counter when I walked in.

All white meat chicken!!! yeah, thank goodness I tried Sam's Chinese Restaurant today. That's right they only use white meat in their dishes. I went today for the first time with my 6 and 8 year old. I ordered the Kung Pow chicken and the sweet and sour chicken for the kids from the lunch menu. Great prices, good portions and great quality meat. There is nothing worse than trying a new place and getting nasty, low grade meat. The sweet and sour chicken was lightly breaded and very yummy, my kids inhaled it, I should have ordered one for each of them:) The Kung Pow chicken was not to spicy and had a good amount of chicken and peanuts. Lunch was $5.25 for a good sized portion, fried or white rice, soup or salad and a egg roll or pot sticker. We got one egg roll and one pot sticker. The egg roll is all vegetable, very crispy and yummy. The pot sticker was huge, fried on the bottom and soft and yummy inside.
Sam's is kind of hidden, I would have never have found it without going on yelp and looking at all the wonderful reviews. Definitely this is going to be our family Chinese Restaurant. Also they are located on Elmira near Peabody but they deliver to my neighborhood in Fairfield off Peabody by the base!!! The owner also said they will deliver on base.
If your looking for good clean Chinese food give Sam's a try! -

We order from them online all the time and have them deliver lunch. (http://www.samschinese...) They have pretty fast delivery, large portions and good food. Their food has improved a LOT over the last year and they are one of our office lunch regulars. They have a $30 minimum for delivery, but if you call them, they can sometimes let you order less and they will still deliver.

Wow! Not only is the food delicious, but the service is EXCELLENT! We would like to thank especially, Joe, for helping us cater my dad's funeral reception. We called with less than a week's notice and had to adjust the headcount the day of the reception and Joe was so accomodating and kind. Everyone loved the food and the service was fantastic! We will always remember them for any catering, especially when we are in that area.

I've been here three times in the past week and a half with my girlfriend. We've tried the orange chicken, honey walnut prawns, sesame chicken, and sweet and sour pork, all of which were authentically delicious. The value is just as good: ~$5 for potstickers or veggie eggroll, fried rice or steamed rice, entree, and egg flower or hot and sour soup. The owner is also super friendly.

BEST CHINESE FOOD IN VACAVILLE....dare I say Solano County????
I had all but given up eating Chinese food in Vacaville, until I ate at Sam's Chinese Food. The atmosphere is bright and uplifting. The owner/host is very gracious...but more importantly the food is great. The food is not greasy, it tastes freshly prepared, and if its not on the menu they can still make it for you. -

A great spot en route from Tahoe where all the other alternatives are chain spots or trucker stops.
We had the hot and sour soup which was fine, the moo shoo pork which was very good and the General Tso chicken which was different from how I normally expect it to be but still quite good. All the ingredients were bright, tasted very fresh, and not at all oily. Not a stylish place, we got the sense that most of their business is take out, but certainly clean enough, even the bathrooms.
We spent $30 including tip. -

We moved to Vacaville 5 years ago and have not been able to find a decent Chinese restaurant, until now.
There are a number of Chinese Restaurants, but we compare it to what we use as our gauge and I think Sam's has finally met that comparison. The price is right, the food is good and friendly people.
I think it is really cool that you can order online. I don't think I have ever heard of a Chinese Restaurant that does that. I haven't personally used the online ordering. -

in honesty i read lots of the reviews before we went. i thought i made a good choice, but certainly did not.
the food lacked flavor the Mus hi Pork was colorless. the pancakes were not ply able.
We sent back my favorite item on the menu, Walnut prawns. there was nothing on the prawns and then the sauce was not creamy at all. tasted terrible. the tea was good and the sampler plater was good all but the pot stickers were doughy.
I'm so disappointed i wanted a good chinese place in the fairfield area but this is not it.
Yes the green wall is terrible. Thin layer of paint in many areas. Looks like they just don't care. How do you have people into your business and have your walls half paintd is an ugly color and poorly painted.
Tells me they don't take their business serious. Just feed you anything. -

They have great service and wonderful food and they deserve all 5 stars...I do not know why anyone would ever give them a bad review they are great. Thank you Sams for providing great Chinese food and low prices and for the wonderful service you provide when dining in...I felt pampered.
