I'm no greek food expert but their pork souvlaki was the best souvlaki that I tasted in my life bar none. For around $5.50, I wish I lived closer to this place!
We also got greek salad and calamari to share and both were excellent. Their home made dressing for the greek salad is to die for too.
My fiancee got the chicken souvlaki and yes it was good but the meat doesn't have the flavor like that of the pork version. We both agreed the pork version was better.
Yum! This is a great place if you can duck out for lunch during the work week (they get you in and out real quick), or on a weekend when you've got a hankering for some good, cheap Greek. I have only had one thing that I didn't enjoy, the taramasalata, which seemed to have come from a can or jar. Everything else, especially the spinach pie, Greek salad, and hummus deserve kudos. The waitresses know their work and are very professional in that 'I take my job seriously kind of way.' I appreciate them. Be sure to take cash, because they don't accept credit cards. For the prices, the ambiance is what you'd expect, but a few modifications to the decor would go miles. It just doesn't scream, sit down, stay awhile, and to earn the fifth star, I need that kind of environment.

For our afternoon in Baltimore, the bf and I were whisked away to Samos, where we were greeted with a shank of lamb sitting behind the counter, one mark of a really great gyro, says our host. We got there around 1:15, and we could see on our server's face that the afternoon rush was just leaving. She greeted us with a fatigued but friendly sigh and took our order.
Traditional Greek salad, dolmates (stuffed grape leaves) and gyros were on their way, and we enjoyed each other's company and the "view" of the Mediterranean in the meantime. The salad (iceberg lettuce, red onions, cucumbers, tomatoes) was fantastic - we ordered the large, and it was plenty for the four of us. The dressing was amazing - light, sweet/salty and subtle. The dolmates was okay, but I don't think I'd order it again. It came with their homemade tzatziki, which I used to dip my butter-drenched pita. YUM.
And then the gyro. It was delicious. I'd never been to Greece, but I've had gyros at different restaurants. There was something a lot more REAL to this gyro than any other I'd had - maybe it was the source from which it came (see above for comments about the huge lamb shank), the buttered and toasted pita or the homemade tzatziki...or maybe it was all of them put together! It was delicious.
All of these things for only $10/person! The gyro itself was only $5.50. I highly recommend Samos for a quick, light and cheap lunch, or for any other meal for that matter. Thanks James & Jenny for taking us here! :D
FYI: CASH ONLY.

Oh my freakin goodness! Get the pork souvlaki! I wish I could take Samos with me everywhere! Super friendly servers ('hon), and did I mention the unbelievably delcious Greek food? Beat the crowds and get their early or else you'll be waiting a while. Probably the one thing I miss most about Baltimore is this restaurant!

How I miss this place! Great Greek food in a BYOB setting. The Greek salad with chicken souvlaki and a few anchovies is my go-to favorite at lunch. The lamb is good, and the lentil soup when they have it is outstanding. Mmmmm - my mouth waters just thinking about this place.

Samos is a really nice restaurant in terms of food. Great Greek/Medit stuff. Most of the food is meat, but salads could work well for the veggies. Dont miss on the Baklava in the end. The gyros, lamb chops or salad sampler are nice!
They take only cash. No credit/debit cards.
It is a small place. Good to take out, but if you get there in peak hours, you will have to wait. But the wait is surely worth it.
No booze, but you can carry your own beer (they charge about $3 a person if you do so)

Fantastic Baltimore cafe. Great food - we're still raving about the shrimp months later, but everything was great. The only downside was the wait, even early on a Saturday night - but it's BYOB, with a small hometown feel, so we really enjoyed just hanging out, sipping our own wine in line, talking with all the other waiting patrons. Nothing fancy, not a choice for "romantic date night", but for a wonderful place to go with some dear friends, this is it.

Most of the menu is off limits to a vegetarian, but you can make a filling, tasty, meal out of all of the small dishes. While I didn't try the large meat dishes, they looked amazing...
The restaurant is fairly simple, with a relatively cheap price to go along.

Really good Greek food.
You can't make a reservation and they only take cash - but the great food makes it worth the hassle.
I would recommend it to anyone!
