Foggy Bottom|GWU (Blue, Orange)
Just to clarify, I am referring to the corner of Virgina ave 22nd Street, across the street from the flags that fly on the side of the Pan American Health Organization, so this is in the Foggy Bottom/State Department neighborhood.
There is a man named Sammy who sets up his coffee kiosk every morning in front of our building and sells coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and light breakfast fare (banans, muffins, croissants, etc.).
He has amazing coffee at even more amazing prices- $1.75 for what would be a grande size at a certain competitor whose name starts with a '"Starbucks" for $3.75. The summer is even better when you get frozen drinks that he makes and actually fills them with coffee and not just ice.
Plus, he's super nice! He's there at 8:30 when I arrive, but I think he sets up shop at 7:30am until about 12 Mon-Fri, although he sometimes isn't there on Fridays and his departure time varies a bit probably given the quantity of supplies he can fit in that little kiosk. Best advice: get there early!
Great coffee, well-priced, convenient if you work in this neighborhood (you should be ashamed going to Starbucks, Caribou, or Java City with this guy around!), and a nice guy- what more could a crabby government or UN employee want every morning???
