something that hasn't been mentioned in other reviews, they serve really tremendous sandwiches for about 4 dollars, anytime, day or night. You can order pretty much any kind, but i find it best to let the guy making the sandwich call the shots. They never let you down.

Overall best Bodega in the area.

Sami Q was my go-to bodega for about a year. A little more than a year.

Then things took a turn.

First they lost their cigarette license, so now theres just a bunch of candy and whatnot where the cigs used to be. That led to an overall slimming of the behind-counter offerings.

Then the sandwiches (my late-night vice.. very important) got a little smaller.

Then I was waiting at the window late one night and watched as the cast of Ratatouille scampered out of the basement by way of the trapdoor. Gross.

Bottom line, they just got sloppy. So I'm more or less done there. Two stars because its open 24 hours and it has an ATM.

Unlike most bodegas on the block, Sami Q is open late and their ATM is usually working, which is a HUGE plus for this neighborhood. You can also get some fun late night people-watching as it's next to the only club on the block.

Like this one time, I was there at midnight buying a beer after getting off work. There were a bunch of young club going girls behind me in line who kept whispering amongst themselves to

"Ask him. Ask him. C'mon. Ask him. Just ask him."

Finally, this extremely busty latina wearing a painted on mini skirt with no bra taps me on the shoulder and says,

"Excuse me. Could you tell me if they're even?"

"If what are even?" I asked.

She proceeds to squeeze her freakishly big nipples that are poking though her dress and replies,

"These. Are they like, on the same level?"

"Uhhh. the one on the right is a little low," I said

"Thank you," she says as she reaches down her dress and makes her nipples more parallel. You don't see that every day.

Basically right outside my door, so that is good to start. Weirdly large selection of cat items, which is also good for me. They don't take credit cards, but they do have 2 ATMs, so that isn't really an issue. Cold bottles of soda cost more than their identical warm counterparts, so if you're not looking to drink it immediately, head to the back rack of 2 liters and save yourself a few cents.
