There are a lot of steakhouses in Buffalo and I've eaten at pretty much each one. Last night my wife and I visited Salvatore's and it's one of the best decisions we've made.
We got married 2 days prior to a gift certificate expiring. I emailed Mr. Salvatore to see if we could still use it a few days after the expiration in which he agreed. Make sure you have a charges battery on your smart phone because your going to want to take pictures as soon as you enter. We were warmly greeted by the host and server. Even the bus boy introduced himself and asked we let him know if we needed anything!
I ordered a filet which gulf shrimp and my wife had the Salvatore's Classic. Delicious is an understatement! Laurie was our server and made us feel like old friends. Just a great overall experience.
We can't wait to come back!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Rhonda H.New York, NY22223Mar 15, 2024Updated review
Delicious food! Great service. I've been there twice already. Good for a night out with the girls or a date night. I'll be back again.

I was so excited to come to Salvatore's as it's "Buffalo's finest" restaurant. I have been to many great restaurants and I wouldn't put Italian Prime in my top 5.
The cocktails are fantastic, the decor is amazing... Seriously, the light fixtures are absolutely stunning. There are several different rooms that can be blocked off for private parties. The bread they give you in the
beginning of your meal was superb. The prices are high but about what you would expect for fine dining. What I wasn't expecting was how awful my lobster risotto was. Three of our table of seven got the lobster risotto and all had the same complaints... Risotto was SO salty. And the lobster was flavorless and overcooked. A $56 meal should be at least *good* at it's worst. But I ended up bringing my meal home because I couldn't eat it. Even worse, my sister got the shrimp and scallops risotto which was the same risotto but with CAPERS, which made it inedible due to the salt content. Very disappointing. However, the prime rib was great as well as the grouper special. So the food is good depending on what you get. Fine dining should never be a gamble.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Apr 7, 2024
Disappointed. If I had to title this would be "past glory". You drive into the lot which is full of pot holes. Inside things felt neglected and old. Carpets were dirty. Was seated adjacent to Perla which then had loud music. Service was fine food not so much. Oysters not properly shucked, onion soup had oily film on top, my entre was bland and prices very inflated. Sorry seems chef Ramsay needs a visit to help them out but seems ownership has stopped caring

My boyfriend booked a reservation for Italian Prime for our Valentine's Day Dinner. I ordered a show on the beach sangria and it was delicious and refreshing. Each entree comes with a choice of salad, soup, or appetizer. I ordered the lobster risotto with the lobster bisque. I really enjoyed the lobster risotto. It also had shiitake mushrooms and asparagus which tied in nicely. The inside was pretty upscale but I also noticed people wearing hoodies and jeans which I thought was not appropriate. Our waiter was attentive to our table. I would return!

Not what it once was. Scheduled a funeral luncheon knowing that Salvatore's could handle it and we wouldn't have to worry about anything, especially under the circumstances. Well we were wrong... they weren't ready for us upon arrival. They had the wrong time, set us up for a buffet, when plated meals were ordered and didn't have the vegetable. They hustled to serve us with an average meal and ice cold dessert.
No apology, no adjustment to the bill...no more Salvatore's for us.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 14, 2024
Ambiance is amazingggggg out waiter Ken was also amazinggggg appetizer we started with was french onion soup and crab stuffed mushrooms delicious!!!!! Thats when it go downhill i ordered 12 oz airline chicken it was just grilled chicken nothing fancy regular unseasoned mashed potatoes and it came with asparagus wrapped in bacon well I don't eat pork and didn't know it was bacon because the menu didn't say it anywhere i was so disappointed but Ken made it right and wad fast he brought me broccolini instead the sauce tasted like package gravy mixed with soy sauce and water...we also ordered chicken marsala that was my same chicken piece with flour and fried same gravy with mushrooms on top! Not impressed but veryyyy pretty presentation if you care about that.

Another fabulous dining experience at Salvatore's, for my birthday this time. Our waiter Giovanni was top-notch, truly. Do try the black truffle Arancini... it's the best I ever had!

Thank you to all the staff there to take care of people like us who needed somewhere to go. Lori was an amazing server, everyone was so upbeat ... right down to the gentleman who poured our waters, and the food was excellent.
Dec 16, 2017Previous reviewI came here about 2 weeks ago and dined alone on a busy Saturday night. I did have to wait about 20 minutes past my reservation time, but there were so many nice decorations and overall holiday cheer that I didn't mind.
I received excellent service from everyone I came across, from the guy who seated me, to the gentleman who refilled my waters, to my waiter. Although I was dining alone, it didn't feel that way because these people were all so friendly!
My meal started out with the complimentary bread with oil. It was soooo yummy! It was hard to resist ordering more!
I ordered the iron skillet artichoke dip for an appetizer (I had a gift card to spend so I was going all out!). This was hands down the BEST artichoke dip I've ever tasted! Hell, I didn't know it could be this good! It came with garlic toast points to dip with and those were so yummy! When I ran out of the toast, I was yet again tempted to get more free bread so I could have more of the dip!
My entree was was amazing: 9oz filet mignon with asparagus and truffle tortellini. The asparagus had a light balsamic drizzle that was Devine. And I loved that my plate was big enough I didn't have to worry about knocking something off while I cut my filet and asparagus.
Dessert was a tough choice .. I had a little bit of money left on the gift card but I was soooo full! So I actually ordered something I normally wouldn't order because I really needed something light; I got the vanilla bean creme brûlée. It was so amazing! It was light enough that I could still enjoy it, despite leaving the place fatter than Santa himself!
Oh - BTW - Santa and Mrs. Clause were there! They had a set up to take pictures with Santa. They also came through the restaurant having some fun.
With all that being said, I have been to Salvatore's before and had a great experience and once again they met my expectations. - Michelle N.Buffalo, NY661112Feb 23, 20241 check-in
I went for Valentine's dinner. The wait was pretty long, but the food was worth it. Our server was very attentive! It was a great time!

Updated to include emails (attached in photos) and resolution.
Salvatore's contact appears to be primarily concerned with controlling the method of communication, never took responsibility or apologized, never found or returned our property, only followed up when reminded repeatedly, but did write a check. Overall a very disappointing and concerning experience. Beware!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Sep 18, 2023Previous reviewSalvatore's owns and operates The Brickhall in the Hollow. This review is for the Salvatore's organization:
We had a family wedding here. When we arrived for rehearsal we noticed there were dead plants in the pots by the front door and had to ask that that be replaced or removed, and they were, but the facility should be self managing on this point. The venue is beautiful but definitely a bit tight for just under 100 guests, although we were told it wouldn't be a problem. Despite meetings, emails with setup maps, the setup staff was definitely not clear on what we had communicated and needed several reminders and corrections. Two bathrooms were not really enough as several times there were lines of 6 or more people waiting. H'ors D'ouvres were placed on a large round table that didn't allow room for guests to navigate between it and guest seating. A long narrow table would have been a much better choice. Dinner service was disorganized. We offered guests a choice of three entrees. It appeared that the staff was distributing meals randomly among tables, with no real order or organization. Table one was partially served about midway through and entrees were only slightly warm at this point. We chose entrees because we wanted to avoid the time lag that takes place with buffets but this was much worse. Bread was not served until the end of the meal. Worst of all: Baked cod was one of our entree choices, and it was TILAPIA!!! See attached picture. Overall, while the other vendors really delivered and it was a great evening, the Salvatore's organization, which we had trusted to deliver on promises, service and authentic menu items, has sorely disappointed us. It seems they entrusted the evening to a relatively junior staff member. It was apparently the first event he managed, as I overheard from a staff member the night of rehearsal. It also was evident that there were not enough servers for the number of guests. It was not this young man's fault, but the failure of management. I should note that we were very pleased with how well all of our decor items were packed up for us after the event. It's disappointing that we experienced these issues, and unconscionable that Salvatore's would pass off Tilapia for Cod. - Patty N.Lancaster, NY0777Jan 19, 2024
One of my very favorites. Food is delicious, service is fantastic, and I love the atmosphere.
