This store is dusty but well organized.
I have repeatedly found great clothes, shoes and books here. Everything but the furniture seems to be well priced.
The staff can be a little rough around the edges but otherwise genuine.
Will return.
Note: There are no dressing rooms and a no-return policy in place. -

This one is everything a Salvation Army should be. Huge, packed, orderly, and full of surprising finds that will set afire the heart of any self-respecting thrifty girl.
It's only a couple blocks from work and since I catch the pink line downtown for prenatal appointments, I duck in here regularly to pick up baby stuff. It's literally spitting distance from the L.
I am on an unceasing mission for cashmere and 100% wool items. This one always delivers. -

I only stopped in here once right after I moved to the city, but I scored a pretty great find: a white leather Bonnie Cashin for Coach bag for $2.00. An identical bag (in navy) is selling on my favorite vintage site http://enokiworld.com for $410. It was designed by Cashin before the "Cashin Carry" line, before the bags were all lined with the cute striped silk.
the store also had some lovely furniture - but it all had "sold" tags on it, so I was too late. (When I say lovely, I mean great shapes that would need new fixtures & refinishing.) -

This was a pretty nice little store. I've passed by it dozens of times and never had the chance to go inside. Today, I had to stop by and look for something retro for an 80s party. They had some pretty funny stuff! I was actually regretting I had not come here a few weeks ago for my work's ugly sweater party. They had some fantastic gems. I didn't really see anything I would wear in my every day life, but if you are looking for very inexpensive items for a costume, this is your place. My oversize men's T-shirt was a whopping $.90! I'll be back when I have more time to see what other gems they have!

I finally stopped in this store after driving by a million times and seeing really great looking furniture. They have a great selection of furniture and it also seemed like they had a ton of really nice coats. Had I known it would be a slush mess out there today, maybe I would have bought one. I was in search of some vintage wallpaper and this store delivered. The store is fairly small and the staff is a little bit surly and a little bit oblivious. That means you, man who stepped on me. I may be short, but I'm not invisible.

I'm not a huge sal army girl but when rachel and I do our south side thrift store romp, this is where we like to start off. They always have a few pieces of grandma apparel that I can call my own. If you are in need of furniture check it out because they have some cool reasonable priced decor.

This is a shady little store at which I often times see employees sitting on couches watching TVs. Also, the prices seem higher than other SA's I frequent. On the upside, I did once find a Laundry by Shelly Segal dress here... which I promptly sold on Ebay.

This place is a jerk factory, run by jerks, with jerk merchandise.

Let me start off by saying I love thrift stores. I think they may surpass my love for my mother - but then again we aren't on the best terms since I get smashed at her last shin-dig.
Let me secondly say that this place blows. I was ridiculously excited when I first noticed this shop not two blocks from my apartment.
From nostalgic toys to sexy clothes to ... whatever I can usually find SOMETHING at a thrift store.
So it's sad to say that from my six or so visits to this particular Salvation Army I found ... one thing. What I found was a boxed set of 6 red wine glasses. It was Target brand, nothing special. It had the receipt taped to it, so I'd have to assume it was a return item that ended up being a donation. It was minus one glass - isn't that always the story? But the real kicker was the price tag, twenty mother fu**ing dollars. Are you kidding me? It costs about that much (if not less) at the store it initially came from!
Other than that specific incident, in general I find this specific location to be horribly unorganized, over priced and in desperate need of a frebreeze summer mist (the musty/mildewy smell can be a bit overwhelming at times.
All in all.. don't bother. -

This SA annoys me so much. The shirts are ordered fine, but every pair of jeans is on the Men's side and you have to dig for a pair of women's jeans. Ugh. They have a decent selection but things are so dense and it is just...weird.
