Anyone who has grown up in Texas knows steak like nobody's business. So after moving to the sunshine state (FL) where seafood is the King, royal family, lords and ladies, and field folk, I was in desperate need of a juicy piece of meat. So my first visit back to Texas included a steak visit on the itenerary. Yes y'all it was that serious. Me and my bestfriend had spent the day starving and loosing our wits ends with all the wrong directions to some of the other places we had to go to before dinner we decided to go to Roadhouse. Now I know yall are sitting there thinking like BISCH this is the Saltgrass page but keep patient its coming. So after going on a wild goose chase and 4 phone conversations later with roadhouse on how to get there (the last one ended with yeah we dont know where you are and we are on the other side of houston. BISCH we called 3 times to make sure we was going the right way and all yall gave us were LIES LIES and more LIES. So since we ended up in some shopping center parking lot with a bunch of tasty familiar restaruants we chose Saltgrass.

Our service was quick and the drinks were strong! Big ups to the bartender! Make sure to try the Texas Two Step on your visit, you'll be wanting to take the bartender home to become your personal slave. My favorite soup and salad restaurant has always been Saltgrass, but like I said before I was on a mission for some beef. So I ordered the prime rib and got the salad with extra ranch and baked potato soup as my side winders. That was the thickest prime rib I had seen in a long long time. It was tender it was juicy it made me want to kidnap the cook too. Just thinking about this meal makes me just want to.... sorry back to the food. My bf got the steak and shrimp and did the happy dance in her seat. Our server was nice and quick and got the appropriate tip for it too.
Now I'm just waiting on Saltgrass to expand to another state such as Florida, preferably in the north Florida area.

Had the opportunity to share a meal with some friends here once on a business trip.

I forgot what I had for the appetiser, however for the entree I did have the New York Strip. (KC strip I say, NY ain't famous for cows). It was indeed perfectly cooked medium-rare and the steak remained warm the whole time. All without sacrificing too much of the pink. You can't ask for more from a steak not made on your own grill.

The mashed potatoes I had along with the steak were also perfect.

I also appreciated the staff. The waiter was very helpful in helping me browse through the expansive menu. In the end I did of course stick with the strip (I didn't want my boss to see me filing a expense report a porterhouse lol)

All in all, very good steakhouse. And when it comes to steakhouse chains, I put them three grass shreds under Lone-star.

Looking for a good steak in the Spring area?   This has not let me down in the three times I have eaten here.

First occasion with a simple lunch with my Secretary while attending a local convention just up the street at Hilton.  We enjoyed it so much that we took a business client the next day, he enjoyed it as well.    And to culminate I decided that this would serve well when my Dad was looking for a steak in the area and took the whole family here.   And we all enjoyed it.

The mashed potatoes and vegetables here are very fresh and excellent and the service top notch every time.   Ironically I have had the same table all three times.

I've always said that any business serving shrimp in Texas, especially near the South Coast, should not be taken seriously unless they are using Texas Gulf Shrimp.    And here, that is exactly what they use, the best shrimp in the US from the Gulf of Mexico.    Thumbs up!

I really liked the stuffed jalapenos here!! They were excellent. The food came out quick and the lunch hour prices are great. I liked the theme here too. It was good and not over done. Our server was very attentive (he brought more water before I was ready) and polite. I would go back!
