Love this restaurant. Always have great service and the atmosphere is very relaxing. Would give it 5 stars, except last night I ordered a ribeye and half of it was fat. My husband's filet was wonderful. This is our " go to" place.

My family would stop here on our road trips from Atlanta, GA to Midland, TX. We have family near Dallas and we would meet them here.
Honestly, I would probably rate this 4 stars for the experience, but our last experience was so good that they get the extra star for their service.
The first time we went, my parents, brother and I ordered steaks, potatoes and salads. The steaks were taking long to come out. Apparently, the order was placed on the counter in the kitchen and a plate was sat on it and it stuck to a plate that was put out on a table. The manager came back and apologized to us as soon as he found this out. He gave us our entire meal on the house. Great job Mr. Manager. That is service, that is what will get people talking and wanting to come back. He made a bad experience good and we went back to that location each trip out west. -

Had the BBQ baby back ribs with garlic mashed taters, and a Caesar salad. Also came with a small cup of what could only be described as apple pie filling. The ribs were fall off the bone tender. Very good! The garlic mashed potatoes were also good but my home made garlic mashed potatoes completely blow these off the planet. The salad was really good too!! With croutons and actual shaved Parmesan cheese!! The iced tea was perfect as well. Prices were a bit on the steep side in my opinion for the quantity. The rack of ribs were pretty small for baby backs and the mashed potatoes were about a measured half cups worth.
Service was good and very prompt which actually worries me because that is usually a sign of food already sitting there for an extended period of time. Too me, for the price they charge, your food should be made to order. But...... maybe they are just lightning fast.
A solid 3 stars, and worth a second visit. -

First, yes I know this is a chain but it doesn't matter.
I'd been to Saltgrass once before a few years ago and had fond memories. It just so happens that my hotel was basically in the same parking lot so we decided to check it out.
We were greeted promptly and sat. Our waiter was over quickly and took our drink order and made some good suggestions. I ordered the porterhouse and sweet potato. She ordered the fillet with veggies. The food was excellent, my steak was cooked just right and the rub they use was very tasty. The sweet potato was very good too. Most places make them like a dessert. Saltgrass's version had the right amount of butter and brown sugar it wasn't overkill like one might expect.
Overall a great service and great meal. -

For years I have found this chain to have great food. now mind you I only have steak there but it is awesome.
Always servered cooked to the right temp and seasoned just right.
Try to totilla soup as well.
Awesome dessert but massive in size. -

I love the food here but the prices are getting ridiculous. While saltgrass has good food(and better than Outback) they aren't Al Beirnats or Bob's-so they should consider reducing the prices a bit.

This place used to be good a year ago but not anymore. I ordered a $12 app that was supposed to be a nicely-portioned ahi tuna starter, but instead I got four measly slices. The salmon was a small piece of fish that lacked flavor, and was served on a plate much too big for the tiny food portions given. The steak was overpriced for my dinner companion and not nearly tender enough. The prices this chain charges for these portions and sorry excuses for entrees and appetizers is offensive, and that's putting it gently. It seems like times are hard at Saltgrass, too; when I complained about my pathetic ahi tuna app, they removed only $3 from the $12 price. If you're going to remove something, either remove the full charge or nothing at all. I'm cool either way. Great way to lose customers. See ya!

Food is consistently good. Strawberry margaritas are the best I've ever had. Staff is competent & have yet to mess up our order, but they definitely aren't overly friendly. All in all when I'm in the mood for a decent meal. Can't lose here.

We had a party of 7ppl and waited for 10mins. The food wasn't that great. I was expecting it to be a taste of how Texas cooks their steak.. but dude.. it was not good! I had the Fillet on the menu.. it was tender but not juicy enough. No flavor in the steak. I also order the Ahi Tuna Sear on the menu.. that was horrible. The ahi tuna taste like dish washer soap. The pieces were half the size from the pictures in the menu. I ate two pieces and that's it. The only thing that was good was the Mac n cheese side dish. Our waitress was the worst. She was rude to our table and other tables as well. We didn't give her a good tip for that. We also wrote "Please smile on the receipt" when we left. If you're looking for a good steak place.. this is not the place to be.
