Anyone who says anything bad about salon vie or the people that work in there are about as spoiled and snobby as it gets in Menlo Park!
Everyone was so nice in there!
    They always have been.
I went in there expecting just a hair cut but man, they really take care of you. I LOVED IT!
The people at Salon Vie are the kind of people I would want to take to starbucks afterwards just to hang out with.
    super cool. :-D

In attempts to save some money, I decided to have my hair cut by a junior stylist here... the salon was having a special. I got an appointment with Nicole. Now before I go on, I want to clearly say that I gave her a somewhat difficult cut to pull off correctly -- a shorter cut with a lot of varying lengths and layers.

She tried very hard. We worked together for a very long time trying to get the cut right. Unfortunately I think she took a very myopic perspective with respect to my ideas at the cost of using her own professional judgment. For example, I asked for the back to be shorter than she cut it originally. She cut the back shorter all right, but did nothing to blend those layers in with the long layers on the sides. She followed requests while completely losing sight of the big picture. The cut was horribly disjointed. I ended up with barely any hair in the back (she took "a little shorter" to the extreme), very thick chunks behind my ears, and a completely shapeless front (she barely touched the front with the scissors). An experienced stylist would be pretty unlikely to consider that a "finished product".

Now perhaps I can be faulted in some ways for the absolute disaster that was this haircut. I'm used to getting my hair cut by my former veteran stylist to whom I could describe an idea and he would have the knowledge, creativity, and talent to turn that idea into a complex style that complimented my particular face. Perhaps I should have been more careful with someone younger.

I promptly went to another salon to have them fix my cut. An experienced stylist could immediately see what was wrong and how to turn it into something flattering. Overall, Nicole is very kind and so eager to please, but I have to be truthful -- use caution.

I thought I was Goldilocks when it came to finding places for my haircuts.  I've tried all sorts of places where the cuts are not centered, too short, not short enough, blended incorrectly, or the customer service just didn't feel "right".  Short of feeling like maybe, "moi",  was the one who had some sort of a salon-OCD problem, I have finally found the perfect place.

Salon Vie has the perfect blend of style, attention to detail, customer service, and most importantly craftsmanship of hairdo that I've been looking for. I've finally found my "just right" salon.  I first started to go about a year ago, when they first opened, and I have been a loyal customer ever since.

My most recent visit was about a week ago, and I still can't get over how great my hair looks.  It's what inspired me to stop being lazy and actually start writing on yelp.

I called in and made an appointment to see Ari.  I spoke with the receptionist, Kat, who's always been so kind (both on the phone and in person).  During this particular visit, I arrived extra early (which is unusual for me) and was greeted with a smile from Kat.  She offered (& I accepted) to bring me something to drink or some recent men's magazines from the back.  It was like she read my mind and made me feel right at home.

In no time, It was my turn with Ari. I went in, not knowing exactly what kind of a haircut I wanted.  All I knew was that I wanted to try something new.  Ari really took her time with me.  She listened as I described what kind of look I was going for, and gave me some great suggestions.  Together, we came up with just the perfect look that I was going for and as I sat there chatting all about what was going on in my life, Ari was working her magic.

When everything was finished, I was pleasantly surprised.  I must say, this was truly the best haircut I've ever received.  Ari is more than an experienced hairstylist, she is a one of a kind ARTIST.  Ari's experience, knowledge, and passion for what she does is really what makes the difference between Salon Vie and other places.  Ari's passion, artistic capabilities, and the customer service at Salon Vie really set a tone to the Salon and all the other stylists.

As a client, every time I go to Salon Vie, I feel this sort of "WOW" vibe which is hard to explain, unless you try this place out.  I highly recommend that you do!  If I'm satisfied, given my salon-OCD issues, I'm sure you will be too.

I recently called to make an appointment for my color and cut. I was informed that the stylist I usually see is no longer working here. I was very pleasantly surprised that they offered me her email address so I can contact her. The receptionist was so sweet. Since I really needed my color done that week and was familiar with their location I decided to stay at Salon Vie.

Ashley did my color and cut. I was incredibly happy. She was sweet and talented. In the end I realized Salon Vie offers great customer service no matter who your stylist is. They have a customer for life.

P.S. Like I said in my last review, the serene and pleasant atmosphere along with their great caring nature of customer service is really what made me stay!

    I

    LOVE

    MY

    HAIRCUT!

True to her reputation, Diana did an amazing job and I am thankful once again. Their new salon is in a cute shopping center, right across from Starbuck's (near the safeway). I was immediately greeted by the new receptionist, Khat, who was perfectly professional and pleasant. I even remember her voicemail reminder fitting just that description. The salon is very open and IMO, a lot nicer than Julian Chase. It feels less stuffy.

What I love about Diana is that she doesn't try to cut the way she thinks your hair should look. She keeps it stylish, yet personal - making sure that you are ok with what she is doing and will even suggest how to style it later and with what brushes, irons, products, etc. Another thing I love is Diana's attention to detail and constant striving for perfection. After the blow-dry, she was still snipping here and there. If you want a great haircut experience, come see Diana and Ari. They will not disappoint, I've recommended her to several people, all of whom love their cuts! Also, she offers 25% off for referrals and they're offering 10% any service right now for the new opening!!

In sum: Affordable, personal, fabulous salon! A+++++ Diana, thank you again :)

I came here for the hot off yelp deal and got my haircut with Diana.  I asked for a non-junior person and they quoted me $67.50 for a one color dye and cut (normal price was $135) with Diana.  I walk in and the receptionist in all black (like she works for a law firm) was very professional.  Almost too professional to a point where I thought she could be a bit warmer and friendlier (she told me to wait while she was collecting hair until asked her where the bathroom was and she finally stopped what she was doing).

I get introduced and Diana is very nice.  She listens and cut my hair the way I wanted it.  It was pretty good at first glance.  We'll see when it starts growing out how good of a cut it was and I'll update my review.

So I go to pay and they tell me to fork over $80 instead of $67.50.  I ask why and the receptionist tells me that my hair is thick so it's $10 more for color since more ingredients were used.  She can't explain the other difference.  Granted, it's not much but it didn't make a good first impression.  I still tipped 20% of the regular price even though it was a bit inflated from the quote over the phone and $10 more for color.

Overall, I didn't feel good about the quote not matching the actual price.   I know I got a good deal, but I was really in the market for a stylist to come back to over and over again paying full price without that feeling that they are trying to rip me off (come on!  get your quotes right).  It was only a touch up and not my whole head so I didn't expect to get charged more.  All you Asian ladies or ladies with thick hair, beware!

While I haven't gone back yet (it's been less than a week since my haircut) I am very impressed by the customer service.  Within 3 days of posting my review, the owner of the salon called and wanted to let me know that she appreciated the review and was sorry for the bad experience.  She had looked into what happened and apparently the scissors had been dropped a week ago and the stylist did not know there was a problem (probably my fault for not commenting earlier.)
So I'm giving them the full marks for the expert knowledge and their customer service to try to make sure all their clients are happy.  No wonder why they have such a loyal client base.

I have been going to Diana for about a year now, and decided to follow her when she and Ari moved to open a "new" salon in Menlo Park.  By new, I mean, they took over the salon part of a spa that has already been there, and boy is it cute!  What a great location too! They painted the walls, got new furniture, decorated the heck out it-- and put up a nice flat screen TV!

Ari and Diana are fabulous, down to earth, stylists.  They are popular too, and can be harder to get an appt with than my own dentist!  Haha, that just goes to show their loyal following.   I used to go to a she-she salon in downtown San Jose that was pricier, but my color would fade and my hair often turned brassy in a few weeks. Diana knows my hair better and it hasn't happened since I've been going to her.

I wish them the best in their new venture; but hope they don't become too popular so I can still get an appointment sometime this year!  Haha!  Kidding! Check them out!

They don't have the credit card machine up yet, so they only take checks/cash for now. Look across  from the Starbucks to find them.  Tell 'em I sent you and get 25% off, and I will too the next time! :)

Once I found out Ari opened up her own salon, I booked an appointment right away.  Although she's in a different location now, the high quality service still remains.  Salon Vie is well equipped with not only the best stylists in the business, but also features awesome hair products, a lounge area with a flat screen, friendly customer service, and an overall fun and relaxing atmosphere in a very well designed and sleek interior.

Now with my haircut...Ari is THE best.  She was very accommodating and got me an appointment right away.  The receptionist was very sweet and helpful in working with my crazy schedule.  I got in there and was welcomed with a glass of wine as I waited for Ari to finish up her masterpiece of a haircut on a client who was right before me.  When my turn was up, I just left it up to Ari to do whatever she would like to my hair to make me look awesome.  I've been going to her for a while now and every cut was amazing.

Her no-frills approach to cutting and styling is what makes her unique and a popular stylist; her attention to detail is unmatched and most importantly, she always manages to cut your hair not only to your liking, but to complement your style and personality.  Very down to earth, no doubt.  I wish I can have Ari style my hair every morning when I get up, but I know that's impossible - I find her very knowledgeable in her craft and I that's why I think it's such a bonus when she gives me her expert advice on how to maintain my hair over time.  The same goes for Diana; they're like the dynamic duo - if one isn't available, you can always count on the other to hook you up.

I can only speak for the guys out there for haircuts, but rest assured, the women's cuts are awesome too!  You definitely get your money's worth there at Salon Vie.  Ari's the master of all hair types - whether you're a blonde, brunette, redhead, she'll hook your hair up proper.  I've referred a number of my friends of the female gender and every time I see them, their hair is looking great.  My girlfriend also goes there to get her hair done and every time I see her after an appointment, I fall in love all over again.

    Yay Salon Vie!!!

I have been going to Ari for years, since she first started styling. She has a natural talent for what she does. Her intuition is always spot on, which makes her worth every single minute of a drive and every penny spent. She cares about her work and does such a quality job, that after several years of working with her, all I ever have to do is walk in and tell her barely anything and she somehow knows what I want and will look best on me. Nothing is complicated with this woman-- she is just simply a godsend to the world of hair styling.

I was thrilled to find out Ari was opening her own salon in Menlo Park. I had the pleasure of seeing the salon right after it opened a few weeks ago. It's really well designed and is cozy and homey, but still very chic and modern-- just like Ari and her amazing work. She gave my 4-month-old her first haircut (so cute, she even 'layered' it!) and then we scheduled an appointment to get mommy all fixed up.

For my first appointment at the new salon, I was welcomed by a gorgeous and professional receptionist. She was sweet and efficient, helping me feel very welcome in the salon (love her). Then, Ari came out to greet me with a big smile. The waiting area in the salon is great. It's cozy, has lots of magazines, DVDs playing on the flat screen, and had great music playing throughout. Although the salon is nestled up to a day spa, Salon Vie has the vibe of a modern day spa, making me very relaxed throughout my entire experience.

We got down to business and Ari gave me some good advice about what to do with my attempt to tame down the color of my hair. I am attempting to grow out my hair so as to stop coloring it altogether. I don't know how she does it, but by simply eyeing the color of my hair, she knew EXACTLY the color that my roots are and colored the rest of my hair to match the roots. I sat under the dryer for 20 minutes and meanwhile was attended to by so many of the sweet and wonderful employees.  She washed my hair, gave me her infamous scalp/head massage (worth the money just for that!), and then got to trimming my long locks. She even takes a great amount of time styling my hair before I leave (longer than I spend in the morning) and giving me advice about products for my ever-changing hair.

Things I love about Ari: she's not complicated or pushy; she's extremely talented; she's not a chatterbox; she's genuine, honest, and very stylish. I honestly know that she is the best in the business and she gets the highest of my recommendations. I would seriously give her 10 stars on Yelp if it was possible. Salon Vie, although new, is sure to be packed with clients soon, so I'm booking ahead for the next year's appointments now!!

    THANK YOU DI!

I followed Di here from her "other" salon and it was the best decision that she could have made!

The new salon is beautiful! Her and Ari (and their helpers!) did a great job at the decor and it suits them perfectly!

I saw Di yesterday and she put in Goddess Extensions in my hair! OMG! I LOVE LOVE LOVE them! The application process was so easy and quick! I have had other types of extensions in my hair and this feels so much better! She blended my hair with the extensions and you could never tell!

Thank you again Di! I will see you in 5-6 weeks for the touch up!

found this place through yelp-- and absolutely love it. Have struggled for years to find a salon with nice people/fair pricing/good cuts-- usually ended up at hair international with an awful cut/color.

really love this place-- overall great environment/people- stylists listen and have the right mix of understanding what you want vs what would look best vs what they can do.

So I'm known to have CRAZY, yes, sometimes (all the time) FRIZZY, THICK, CURLY hair. Anyone who knows me, knows it takes me FOREVER to straighten my hair! That's until DIANA ANTES introduced me to the Brazillian... BLOWOUT! Get your mind out of the gutter... it's a hair treatment that smoothes out your hair, eliminates the frizz all while blow drying your hair! AND I can wear it curly without it getting all crazy! It's cut my hair time in half and looks and feels better than ever before!

Nicole Richie, Jennifer Aniston AND Halle Berry have all done it! You KNOW you wanna try it!! So what's stopping you? Go see Diana today! =D

When switching up hair colorists - you have to be weary - I've colored my hair since 7th grade and I've had BAD hair days with new people and GOOD hair days with new people... but mostly bad...

Then I went to Salon Vie.

I'll be honest, my first reason for changing salons was price. I had to bring my total cost down... But Ari - owner - did my hair and she was AMAZING! She added some low-lights to make it more natural and gave me a protein mask to add strength and shine back into my hair. It was amazing and came out to $100 less than what I was previously paying... I have had so many compliments.

Did I mention that the entire staff is sweet too? They now all know possibly too much information when it comes to my new boyfriend... haha. Thanks so much for the fabulous color and fabulous time!

I took my husband to get his very first professional haircut. Usually he goes to those 15 dollar places in a strip mall. However, I wanted him to get a new look...he agreed that it was time.

Ari did a great job. So good in fact, that he got compliments at work today about it (from other guys!!!).

I had a hair appont a few weeks ago at around 4pm, but that morning I realized I cannot make it due to an emergency. I called as soon as the salon opens to reschedule. The receptionist told me that canceling within 24 hrs will result in a $25 charge next time I come in. WTF???? The person who scheduled this said absolutely nothing of this ridiculous so-called policy and their website mention nothing about this charge! I don't mind the extra $25 for a good hair cut. It's not about the money...I'm a NEW customer...Good job Salon Vie receptionist for scaring away a potential good customer (and many more referrals) for the salon.

Ps. I tried contacting the manager but never heard back... If this is how they run their bis, I won't be going here if they want to cut my hair for free.

I did the Hot on Yelp special here and my hair looks great! My roots are starting to get a bit mousy and Ashley took great care of me. I was be-smocked and had a cup of water in my hand in no time, and she totally understood what I wanted in a cut and color (simple). My roots match the rest of my natural color perfectly now, my cut looks clean, and I know I'll continue to get a ton of compliments. Thanks Ashley!

Still haven't gotten a service at Salon Vie. I am really interested in seeing Ari or Diane, I have heard great things about both from my friends and fellow yelpers.

However, every time I have tried to set up time or see Diane, the receptionist responds or talks in such a rude way that I decide not to get a service at that salon. I know other people have found her to be extremely arrogant and rude as well.

I tried to inquire about the hair straightening (brazilian blowout or keratin treatments) since there have been health scares, but the receptionist is too rude to answer any questions satisfactorily. Dont think I am going there till they get rid of her.

I cam here today to get my long layered cut by Derek.  Derek was very nice and polite, and gave me very good looking layered cut.  I hadn't re-layered my hair for about 5 to 6 months so the ends of my hair were very thin and very ugly and dry.  He recommended to me how to take care of my hair with the leave in conditioner and was just very pleasant to be around.  Everyone at the salon was also very nice.  They take the time to explain things to you and they are all very very patient with you.  They go through every detail and really take their time to make sure that you have nice hair when you leave.  I will be coming back to this salon.

I have always wanted a short bob but each time i go into a salon, the first thing a stylist would tell me is it would not look good on me and would either refuse to do it for me for fear i would hate it and blame them or they would do a horrible job!!. After trying a few dozen different stylists and salons, one of my friends referred me to Diana Antes Julian Case and now to her new location at Salon Vie. A little far for me but it's sooooooo worth it!  I told her what i wanted and she made it work the first time and every other time afterward!  Its the first short bob in which I absolutely loved! I have so many compliments from coworkers to friends and even some strangers It has been three years now and every time I go in, Diana does such a great job.!  After two years, I have not gone anywhere else! I always refer all my friends and coworkers to her!

The staff at Salon Vie is also very professional and sweet.  Each time I call in to make an appt with Diana they would try to accommodate my schedule as much as possible.  Even when the day i want is not available, they would make another day for me but at the same time put me on the wait list for the day i originally want just in case a slot opens up!  Never get that at other salons that I have been to!  I highly recommend Diana and the staff at Salon Vie!

I recently had my very curly and un-ruly hair relaxed at Salon Vie. I have been thinking about doing this for the past year. I have done a lot of research on different types of relaxers- japanese, brazillian, regular, thio etc.

After reading and researching, I found Ari through her many raving reviews on many websites. I called the Salon and they gave me a complimentary 15 minute consultation appointment with Ari. The appointment ended up being more than 25 mins because I had  so many questions yet Ari was accomodating and gracious and answered all my questions with her un-matched knowledge of hair and relaxers. She took a strand test at this appointment. She said she would put the relaxer on this strand to see how it reacts to my hair. If it was safe we would proceed with our next appointment. Since I have long thick hair, it would be a 6 hour appointment.

She punctually got back to me with a positive email. Told me that my strand test was great. My hair was strong enough to be relaxed healthily.

On the day of my appointment she had help from Ceci. They were on time and ready. Ceci shampooed my hair, dried my hair and they both applied the relaxer. It sat in my hair for 30 mins. They shampooed me again, applied a protein treatment, dried my hair, then they took very very small sections and straightened it gently with a flat iron. After they put on another relaxer to hold the straight style I sat again for 30 mins, while they ordered me lunch. I like the atmosphere, conversation and fun magazines.

Finally we came to the last step. Washing, blow drying, straightening with a flat iron and a great dry cut.

48 hours later: I was scared to wash my hair!!!! Will it really be straight?
YES IT IS, and I love it!!
Check out the pictures I posted!!

I'm so glad I went to see Ari and Ceci, although I had to drive from Dublin to Menlo Park it was worth the results. They made my life so much easier. It took me 20 mins to get ready this morning. Far from my usual 75 mins of blow drying and straightening. If you have curly hair that you straighten 80% of the time or you just have un-ruly frizzy hair, this will make your life so much easier.

    5 star service all around!

This is the 3rd salon I have followed Diana to, and its worth it. I have only had great cuts from her. I always leave happy and feeling good! The atmosphere was great..very relaxing, and comfortable. I got the best shampoo job ever! The shampoo job alone must have been about 10 minutes at least, which made me feel very pampered. Everyone from the receptionist on up was super nice! It is a bit of a drive for me, but worth it..Will be back in 8 weeks to get fixed up again! Not that I ever had any problems at Julian Chase, it definitely does seem more relaxed here, and the stylist's don't seem to be rushed like they were at Julian....Definately recommend checking them out!

i've had my hair cut by ari twice now....first time was last june when i found her at julian chase salon. i went again a few days ago and she gave me a fabulous cut. i actually had gone to someone else in december but was very unhappy with the cut so back to ari, i went!

ari is a senior stylist/owner of the salon so her price tag is a bit steep, but i think it's worth it. i showed ari a picture of a style (inspired by nicole richie) that i wanted and she gave me her two cents on how she thought the the style would look on me, and gave me recommendations on how to modify it, and i'm glad i listened to her. last year, she also gave me a fabulous cut inspired by heidi klum (i actually went in with pictures of eva longoria, selena gomez, victoria beckham, and she told me she had a better style for me in mind - she sure knows her stuff!) and although it's always an adjustment for me to have 6 inches of my hair chopped off, i love my short do because it's so much easier to manage (shorter shower time and A LOT LESS hair shedding!!).

i've seen others getting their hair cut by junior stylists and they turned out OK, but for me, i'd rather spend that extra $20 to get ari to work on my hair. love love ari and love the cute salon! would go back again for sure!

Positives: The receptionist was friendly, the salon was cute, the woman who shampooed my hair did such a good job getting the dye out (nice head massage too) and I was really happy with the way my color turned out.

Not-so positives: I was not happy with my haircut. I brought a photo to my appt. of my haircut from May. I had had one cut in between so about 3 months of growth by the time I came to Diana at Salon Vie. I understand that she was working with some of the remnants of the last cut. The main problem with that cut was that thinning shears were used to make my superfine curly hair very chopped up and frizzy looking. I had had a graduated a line bob cut and the cut I left Salon Vie with was in the shape of a box. She also didn't really style it other than flat ironing it (it looked very thin and lifeless when I left) so I had to go home and wash it and try to style it my way the next day to see how truly awful it was. I called to see if I could come back and I have only done that one other time in my almost 40 years. The receptionist was really gracious and got me in right away but I kind of got the vibe when I went there that Diana wasn't happy with me. When I told her what I didn't like she seemed a little annoyed at first. She did make it MUCH better but it's a bit shorter than I wanted to go and kind of frames my round face too much.  She also didn't make any attempt to style my hair again and I asked her for the hairspray to do it myself.

I had been going to the same place for almost 8 years before trying one other place then switching to Julian Chase so I know I am not ubercritical. I had a meh experience last time at Julian Chase and so thought I'd give this place a try. I might come back again for the color but I am not sure about the cut.

    Note:
The salon takes cash only (there is a Wells Fargo next door)

At the time of my appt., there was no sign for the salon on top of the building. I wasn't told that when I booked my appt. but the sign was for Inspirations Spa so was going around in maddening circles but they may have remedied this by now.

My first time I experienced salon vie was for my best friends wedding. She had a few girls from the salon come fix the bridesmaid and brides hair. I had Nicole and she came well prepared at the hotel. I showed her a picture of how I wanted my updo and she was able to replicate the hairstyle I wanted from the picture and it turned out better than I had imagined. She was so kind, professional, warm and really made sure my hair was exactly how I wanted.

I decided to go into the salon for another updo for my own engagement party. Ari (who did my best friends hair for her wedding) is amazing! I met with her in advance to talk about ideas for my hair and she really took the time to know exactly what I have been imagining so she can make it possible. The day of my engagement, I arrived at my appointment late, I was so frantic and stressed. Ari was prepared and ready for me when I arrived. She is so sweet and was very understanding that I was late. She sat me down right away, gave me a glass of water, offered me some sweets and really made me feel relaxed. My hair was very un-cooperative that day. Ari spent her time and tried really hard to make it how we discussed in order to make me happy, but it just was not working. Instead, she really impressed me on how much effort she put into my hair and how talented she is on the spot. She is very detail oriented and that is definitely illustrated in her work. My hair turned out beautifully and MUCH better than what I initially thought I wanted. Her professionalism, experience and skill really amazed me. She then fixed my make-up. She is talented all around and took her time to make sure my make-up turned out how I wanted. She didn't make me look too fake (which is what i wanted) and the make-up lasted the entire night.

That evening I've never gotten more compliments in my life. My hair turned out AMAZING and my Make-UP was beautiful! I would HIGHLY recommend Salon Vie and will recommend Salon Vie to every single family member and friend. Thanks Ari!

    Top notch Service!

I've had my hair cut by both Diana and Ari and would definitely recommend them both. They're super friendly and totally honest in their consultations as to what they think will work best for your hair. They're  also really great about asking questions to better understand your styling habits, as well as giving styling tips throughout the time spent working on your hair. I trust their expertise to the extent that when my appointment rolls around, I just go in and tell them to do whatever they think will look best. Apparently this has worked so far, since I've never gotten a haircut from them that wasn't followed by some friend/stranger asking me where I got my hair did. :)

Diana is the only person in my life thats been able to manange my hair the way i want it o be. My hair is super thick and heavy which comes to no surprise that i want my hair styles to be thin and light as a feather. I go for the more punk and edgy hair styles and even though my hair type doesnt make it easy, Diana gets it done! I absolutely love my hair coming out of salon vie!! =]

I followed Ari here when she opened up the salon. She's been my only stylist since I moved back to the Bay Area almost three years ago. I've always been happy with my haircuts, and she is very professional and a wonderful person. She has seen me through long permed hair, a short bob, and the slow process of growing my hair back out. The new salon is in a nice quiet location with plenty of parking, and there is room for growth as they add new stylists. Not cheap, but you will get your money's worth.

Ari has been styling and cutting my hair for 2 years. I admit, I am not very young, but I work and like to take care of myself. Ari has opened her own salon with a tremendous following, for a very good reason... she is the best. My son, who is young, will only go to her.

The salon is located in Sharon Heights (my neighborhood - yeah!) so there is parking galore and a Starbucks (the busiest one), a Safeway, a CVS and more so it's like one stop everything. Althougn it is very upscale and the people are wonderful, the salon is moderately priced and welcoming, welcoming, welcoming! From the adorable receptionist to the other stylist, Diana (great also), you feel easy and down to earth.

Then Ari asks you if you like your cut, if you like your color, what you want........... and she listens!!

Next - the shampoo - this is like a spa for hair & scalp. She puts your feet up for you, massages your head, now you are feeling better, and then she rinses it with a cool product, and you don't want to leave the chair.

She colors my hair to perfection, I have reds and grays.... all gone. Then she quietly cuts. You do not have to make small talk - she is focused and when she is finished - you are happy. My hair is thin, but she makes it full. I do not know anyone who is not thrilled with her and her work.

As you can tell, I advise, make an appointment and try her. I have already told a few of my friends and they all love her. I now make my appointments 2 at a time as I want to make sure I get one.

There is so much negative feedback on sites - I am thrilled to talk about Ari. I hope Hollywood does not get her............ I am not kidding.

Thanks Ari.....life is better with good hair.

I have been to Salon Vie many times, and I love the atmosphere. I've gone to Ari a few times and as well as Nicole.  I found out about this place because my older brother showed it to me. I really love how Salon Vie not only gave me a GREAT haircut, but how they make it feel like i am at home, because they always have refreshments, coffee, and chocolates. After a haircut here, my hair feels smooth, soft, and it is MUCH easier to manage because of the shampoos and conditioners they recommend for me.

If you want the kind of cut/color that people will stop you on the street to ask who did your hair, GO TO Ari !  She is a absolute stylist,  has an artistic eye for what best suits each person.

People literally told me I looked 10 years younger after I started going to her and I have been going to her since.  I started seeing her about 3 years ago after reading a rave review about her on Yelp when she was at another salon. I wanted the best...and found her!

No stars.  I'm sorry.  I went here because I was tired of paying $100 at my old salon for a haircut.  And the first time, they did just fine.  Then the nightmare began.  One of their stylists butchered my hair.  And then when she tried to fix it, she just made it worse.  Finally, the owner had to fix it, and that was okay except now my hair was freakishly short.  I went back another time for one of their other "senior" stylists bc the owner had no appointments until 2011.  And, like the girl who butchered my hair the first time, she did a fine job the first time, so I went back to her.  And, again, I got my hair murdered.  I am not even presentable right now and every time I look into a mirror, I am traumatized.  The good news is, I have an appointment in two days with my former stylist, whom I should never have cheated on.  The bad news is that I have to go another two days looking like crap.  And my hair, again, is freakishly short, so there goes my idea of growing it out.  Lesson learned.  Saving a little money is not worth it if you've found a stylist you really know and trust.

Everyone told me how beautiful I looked on my wedding day. And I owe it to all to Ari! I had gotten my haircut a while back by her and was very pleased. I have curly hair and have found that so many hair stylists just don't know how to give a haircut for curly hair. She really knew what she was doing and I felt like for the first time I didn't have to wait a couple weeks before my hair looked decent after a haircut. So naturally, when choosing a hairstylist for my wedding, I thought I should set up a trial with her. Ari showed a lot of enthusiasm when I called to set up an appointment. Ari doesn't usually do makeup, but I had told her that I was looking for someone to come to the hotel to do both, and didn't want to pay two people for travel time. She was very sympathetic to my situation and agreed to do a makeup trial as well. The trial went so well!. Unlike a lot of other stylists I had spoken to, Ari told me that she would spend as much time as needed until I was happy with my hairdo. We went through about 4 hairdo's to see which one looked best on me. Ari was just so experienced that she knew which styles would look the best. When we were done with the trial I felt so relieved and excited because I knew that everything was slowly coming together. I also asked Ari if she could bring a couple of coworkers to the hotel that day to do all my girlfriend's hair and she went out of her way to find the perfect girls for the job! The day of the wedding she was on time, ready to go, and she made me feel so at ease : )  Ari was another great investment for our wedding!  I recommend her for regular haircuts and DEFINITELY recommend her for bridal hairdo's and makeup (although I don't know if she does makeup regularly). She will bring out the beauty in you : )

Ari is great for your regular haircuts and for special events!

After reading all the great reviews on Yelp, I was very hopeful about this salon. When I called to make the appointment I asked for someone that was good with blonde hair. They asked me if I wanted a junior (meaning new) or senior stylist and I said that a junior stylist was ok, as long as they were working closely with a senior stylist. I got Ashley, who is the sweetest, nicest stylist, but new, and from what I could tell, received very little guidance. She did a great job given her experience level but I wasn't happy with my hair. When I got home I discovered places where my roots where still showing and that one side was lighter than the other, and the overall color was darker and more gold than I wanted, which I specifically stated that I wanted to stay away from. Come to find out after the service that she didn't use a strong enough volume with the bleach. Even then, I still recommended her to my mom who went and had her hair done.  I normally am not someone who says anything but having gone to Cosmetology school and been a new stylist once upon a time I remember how it felt when people didn't give you the opportunity to learn from your mistakes. So when I went back for my haircut the next week, I tried to nicely inform her that I wanted it fixed and I wasn't too happy with how it turned out. She called the owner over Ari to discuss how to fix it, and she basically told me they would throw a few more foils in but they couldn't change the color unless I wanted to come in for a toner every couple of weeks. NEVER in the 13 years that I have been highlighting my hair, have I had to do this. This really pissed me off because there are a million things they could have done to make the color what a wanted, but she was just looking for ways to make more money, or she is just plain ignorant or lazy.  Also, the fact that I was told, as the customer, that she liked it the way it was and my opinion didn't matter, is just horrible customer service, especially when you're paying full price for a new stylist. I feel terrible for people who go there and may be misinformed because the owner is just plain lazy and only cares about making money, not about making customers happy. This became especially clear when I went back for my "fix" a few weeks later, due to work committments I couldn't get in earlier, not to mention I was aprehensive about how it wuld turn out. I decided to go ahead and do the foils again because I had a wedding to go to and didn't want my hair to look terrible for it. So I left work early to make it to the appointment since new stylists require more time. Upon sitting down in the chair, instead of going over what my expectations were I was told what was going to happen and that  I would be charged for a blow dry. This is absolutely ridiculous. Any stylist, worth their salt, knows that the only way to truly check the color, or the cut, is to blow dry the hair. You've messed up my hair, I'm allowing you the chance to fix it and keep me as a customer and you are going to let me walk out of the salon not knowing what it looks like? Any stylist with any kind of integrity of their work would not let that happen. I realize being a new salon, they are trying to make the rent, but when you don't care about the final result or customer happiness you're going to end up with a lot of unhappy customers, or none at all. Oh and you have to tip in cash or check, but seperately from your bill, which is just ridiculous, again, too lazy to do the math to take it out of the checks or credit cards. From her reviews many people think Ari is a great stylist, but she's a terrible business owner.
