What made me notice Salon Stella was the very cool giant baby lamb mural on the side of the building.
What made me book an appointment were the stellar reviews I read about the stylists (that and the sky-high price increases at my previous salon).
What will make me come back is the great cut and color I got.
I'm a bit of a nervous wreck when it comes to switching up salons. Let's just say I've been burned before.... oh, and by "I" I mean "hair." After a truly wretched hair experience after trying a new salon in Boston, I am more than a little gun-shy when it comes to the salon/stylist switch. But alas I sucked it up, did some research and gave Salon Stella a call. A few days later I got a great cut and color from Nikol.
More about Salon Stella: The Salon is definitely shabby chic. It almost feels like you are sitting in a friend's funky eclectic loft. Moroccan lanterns hang from the walls and ceiling. Big mirrors adorn the walls. Wine is served in funky glassware. Beer you get straight from the bottle. The light could be a little brighter inside - for the sake of hair color - but the soft light makes you look good.
The stylists are great. Nikol gave me a top notch cut and color. I highly recommend her.
The one caveat I have about Salon Stella is that they are cash/check only. I am a credit card/cash card kind of girl, but so long as you remember your checkbook you're golden.
