When you find a good stylist, it's important to stick with them -- I see Mallory Hansen at Salon Sabiha.  She's been good to me for the variety of things I do with my hair, including angle bobs, highlights, upsweeps, blazes, full-dyes, and insanely vertical hipster hair (my latest style).  5 stars for Mallory.

However, I would not give the salon itself 5 stars, so I have to compromise.  The many stylists there are friendly and look like they do good work with other people's hair.  My one, very significant critique is about their head stylist or master stylist.  It's a personal critique, so I'll skip the details, although it involves very poor customer service and rudeness on his part.

I hate to do this, but... Salon Sabiha has had some major staffing issues that have unfortunately severely effected their service recently.  My friend and I went in to get her hair chopped off and a demi-gloss hair color and it literally took 3 hours which meant we lost our dinner reservations (which they knew about when we got there).  The majority of our time at the salon was spent waiting and even though they offered us tea, they never brought it.

Beyond their service, the three times I have had my hair cut here by Jerry have not been good. I could forgive having to wait for a long time if the end result is great.  However, I have to say that even when I asked for something fun and different, I received the same blah haircut (long in the front and shorter in the back). I even requested layers in the front one time and still received an under-cut in the back look.  The only reason I kept coming back was because I really liked the stylists personalities, Aveda products, and the general vibe of the salon. That said I am ashamed that I have spent hundreds of dollars here on the same boring haircut.

I was going to the master stylist and everything seemed fine until I got something more than a basic trim. It was the first time in my life I absolutely hated a haircut and when I went to someone else to try to fix she was appalled to find a chunk of hair in the back cut a lot shorter than the rest! It was also uneven and weird (not in a fun funky way). Plus they seem to have some serious issues with their staff. The only reason I didn't give it 1 star is that I've seen the woman that co-owns the salon give some great cuts.
