Thanks Kristin for a fabulous facial! And price was half off during the Hawt on Yelp event (thanks Kathleen!) My thirsty skin was dying for the TLC of a facial.
Weird name for a salon that doesn't feature red in its decor...a splash of red would look great against all the gray and steel. Many of the spas I've been too have been space-age sterile looking, especially if they use an industrial space...Salon Red mixed it up a bit in an Urban Outfitters kind of way, especially in the spa rooms. Yummy hot cider too, made for me by another associate in the salon- friendly staff. They didn't push any products on me, which was great. I'll definitely be back!
I always liked Salon Red. The space is nice, and the staff are nice. That being said, I am with Katharine F. that it's all about Clay (I'll totally fight you for him--we've been together for nearly 7 years!), and Clay has moved on. It's bad salon etiquette probably to post this information here, but I don't work for the salon. I just want good hair, and I know you do too. Clay (or Trevor) is simply not replaceable.

It's all about Clay. I shouldn't even say this, because Clay is MINE and I don't want to have to fight you for an appointment. But Clay is really the man. I've been going to him for about five years now, and all I have to say is "Give me beach hair," "I'm ready for fall hair," or just "Make it look pretty," and he always knows exactly what to do. His color is so natural-looking and grows in very well so that I don't have to go back in for touch-ups for quite some time. And I love how he styles my hair - I always feel so glamorous whenever I leave. I love Clay!
And Trevor is fantastic - but Clay will always have my heart...and my hair.
Four stars only because it takes me so dang long to get over there from midtown.
This place ain't red, but whatever...
I followed the guy that cuts my hair here from where he used to work in Buchkead -- hey, I'm a loyal customer! He does a great job with my cut, and lord knows I can use all the help I can get. This place is pricey, but if you're looking for cheap, try Super Cuts.
Bumble and Bumble products, all scissors and no clippers, free tea or water or whatever for clients. I guess they need to pamper you in order to charge about $50 for a men's haircut. The wallet gives a heavy sigh once a month, but hey...I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, people like me!
I came to a very warm and friendly front desk person. The salon is very laid back and not stuffy. The person who cut my hair is named Timothy, and he was very nice. I told him I didn't want to cut any length off. He agreed I can go a bit longer but not too long, since I was petite, and that he recommended longer bangs that were graduated. He gave me advice on how to blow dry my hair and style it.
I received a great wash before the cut, and before starting on the cut he sprayed this wonderful tonic on may hair which was very refreshing and soothing smelling. He was very professional , told me what styles would best fit me and my lifestyle. My cut was wonderful it felt like it had more shape and style, while maintaining length. My hair is thick, course, and bulky and I need layers, and that was what Timothy gave me. He's a great stylist new to the area of Candler Park, but has been cutting hair for the past 10 yrs, starting off his career in NY. Don't let his dramatic hairstyle frighten you if you are conservative. He cuts according to your face, your needs, your wants, and your lifestyle.
Bumble and Bumble products are used in this salon, and the hair tonic was a whopping 20.50 but it smells so refreshing and it moisturizes the hair that I couldn't help but get it. I have a theory that your hair and face is the first thing people notices when they see you, so spend spend to keep it looking good, healthy, and beautiful.
