Jessica, the newest stylist at Salon Pini & Co., is extraordinary. I spent years trying different hair stylists and was constantly found myself disappointed. I first met Jessica after a complete hair disaster. I had spent the entire day upset at work because the person who had cut my hair the night before had ruined it beyond repair - or so I thought! I was fortunate to get an appointment with Jessica and she not only saved my hair but she left me with a style that I loved. She took the time really listen to what I wanted to accomplish with my hair and after throwing around a few ideas together, I decided on which direction I wanted to go with my hair.

I've been going to Jessica ever since! Each repeat experience has gone just as smoothly. She takes her time, gives you plenty of personal attention, and is great with both color and styling. I'd never go to anyone else again if I didn't have to! I've recommended her to numerous friends and they've all been very pleased with her work.

I highly recommend Jessica for anything hair related! She has done numerous cuts for me - from conservative to hip and funky. She's tried natural colors from ranging from lighter in the summer to warm fall colors and from natural looking color to  bold colors! The end result is always exactly what I'm looking for and I'm always pleased with her work! She is undoubtedly a great addition to Salon Pini & Co.

After being a bit of a roadie vagabond with hair salons, I'm happy to have found the one. I've been coming here for about a year and a half. Pini is a great person and is very talented. While I often have a general idea of the style I'd like, I am amenable to his suggestions, and often times take a leap because I trust his eye and scissors

My main critique is in relation to management, and the versatility, or laxity, of the staff. Stylists may flit from between clients, or put down the blow-dryer to pick the phone. Sometimes this can make an appointment run on a little bit longer than necessary. However, if you do have the time, and are not worried about feeding a meter, this is no huge deal.   The salon itself is beautifully designed, outfitted with comfy seats,  good magazines, water, people, and is generally serene--if you're not in a rush ;)

I suppose it's a little extra shekel, but if you do place value on your hair or hair style, prices are justified and probably comparable to most salons in this area.

I highly recomend Jessica. She has been has been doing my hair for some time now and I couldnt be more grateful to her for making me happy with my hair. I absolutely hate to admit it, but I am the pickiest person on the face of our earth, when it comes to my hair. I guess It's "my thing". The first time I met with her, she sat down to find out exactly what it is that I wanted and how exactly how she was going to achieve it. She takes the time to listen... and the results are always fantastic!!
Btw Jessica is a color genius!!! I feel like I can go twice as long without touching up my roots than ever  before. It's a miracle!!!
I couldn't be happier. I'd never go to anyone else.

I moved here with my stylist (also named Jessica).  The salon is beautiful.  I like how serene and peaceful feels with the big windows and the view of the church.

I guess my review is of the salon, too, but mostly my stylist.  She has consistently delivered everything I could wish for with blonde.  The highlights seem to last forever - however she does it, I don't get that stripe line at the roots even when I haven't seen her in months.  It blends out perfectly.  I never thought that was possible.  And the color is always right - it always looks natural, never brassy or fakey.

I also followed Jessica to this Salon. She's great. She always pays attention to detail and asks many questions so she can understand you and what you want. She's been coloring and cutting my hair for a while now and I won't go to anyone else. It's nice having someone who understands my hair and what it needs to remain looking fabulous!

After hearing great things about Salon Pini (and getting a hold of one of those coupons), I decided to give it a try.  Had I been paying the full price, I suspect my experience might've been somewhat better.  But that doesn't redeem the fact that my haircut was one of the worst I've had in a while.  The stylist seemed completely uninterested and even reluctant at points, while trying to suck me into getting my hair coloured or treated--whatever would get me to spend more money.  I left feeling dissatisfied and recommend trying a salon actually worthy of your business.

I would have given this place 4 1/2 stars b/c the pricing is crazy and they are a little pushy with selling their products....but that aside, Pini has repeatedly given me the best haircut over and over.  I have very thin hair and he makes it look full and beautiful.  I have always been happy with the color as well. He charges $250 for new clients and $150 or $175 for returning clients.

I went in with a vague idea of what I wanted, and my hair stylist was able to take that and run with it. She did an awesome job. I loved my cut. Also, I had a wonderful wash beforehand that included a head massage for about 10 minutes. I don't know if this is always done, but it should be. It was amazing! My only complaint was the constant suggestion that I should color my hair. I was told 2 different colors by 2 different stylists while I was in there leaving me confused and unsure if I should spend another couple hundred bucks to have it done. Luckily, I was able to resist temptation, but that was a little annoying. Overall, they do a good job and the price is up there, but not as outrageous as some other places in the neighborhood.

Wonderful!  First-class haircuts and first-class client treatment.  I got my hair layered by Ari and was thoroughly satisfied by the result.  People on a budget will find a first-timer cupon in those little student cupon books.

I hated having to go to someone besides my regular hair dresser but this place was amazing.  I got one of the best cuts I have ever had. It was a dry cut, meaning she washe and blowdried my hair BEFORE cutting it.  Turned out wonderfully.  Very expensive.  My hair cut would have been over $50 without the first time client coupon I had.

Loredana is "my" stylist and amazes me every time. I've gone short, I've grown my hair out, and even during those "inbetween" stages she manages to give me enough style that I get lots of compliments. She actually listens to what I want and not what she might want to do to me! Including giving me fab highlights one year and then working with me to low-light it back down to my natural color over the next year so that I never had obvious roots. Their new digs at 18 Newbury are supermodel chic--amazing that the prices stayed the same while the environment went up about 3 levels. It's nice and quiet, very professional staff. The owner, Pini, is always there and always friendly--he must either have amazing memory or write notes based on conversations because each time I visit he asks about some pertinant tidbit of my life. Price is friendly, especially considering it's Newbury St.!

I didn' t mind the hair cut that I had from this salon except for the fact that it wasn't hair cut that I asked for at all.  It turned out okay though and once it grew a little bit, it looked good.  I also don't recommend paying with your credit card because they seemed to mess up the machine and every time I went in to tell them that they wound up charging me like $250 for a $50 haircut until I set it straight.  I wouldn't recommend this place for someone who is looking for a specific hairstyle because they may decide to do whatever they like best.

0 Stars! I first went two years ago to Stacey who was amazing and did dry cuts. She left to go on maternity leave and I made the mistake of going to ****. It was HORRIBLE. I cried for a week. It was exactly the hair cut I had in high school - no layers- and it was really disturbing. Then to make it worse, they overcharged my CC and then I had to wait for them to credit it back. I cannot in good faith recommend this place.

the best haircut i've ever had!  i went with a first time client coupon from one of those student coupon books, so i paid $20 for an $80 cut.  i have really long hair which i wanted to keep long but do something a little different with, and they gave me a spectacular layering job (and head massage, wash, and blowdry).  i think my stylist was avi.  afterward, they put me on their hair model list and i got a call about getting a free cut and color if i did a hair modelling gig with them, but alas i'd moved to california.  however, i'd recommend asking them about getting a discount through a modelling gig.

Great to go to for a facial. If you go to college in Boston and you have the student coupon book, there is a coupon 2 facials for 1.  I made my boyfriend come and we both enjoyed it. My only complaint: the rooms we were in didn't have that "relaxed vibe" which other salons have.

I went to Salon Pini today to have my haircut.  I hadn't been there in 15 years and I really love the cut.  Loredana cut my hair and she is very nice and very professional.  She listened to exactly what I wanted and did exactly that.  I really love it!!

I went to Salon Pini because i had a coupon for a $20 wash, cut and dry. The hair came out great but the hospitiality was much less the perfect. My hairdressing and the owner kept on pressuring me to get highlights. I love the color of my hair the way it naturally is, and everyother hair dresser i have gone to has complimented me on the wonderful color, except for salon pini. Also everyone else in the salon was offered coffe, tea, or water but not me. Then to top it off,  the owner started to talk about how people are taking advantage of the coupon. They come in with long hair and expect us to cut it for only $20. He did this right in front of me. I wanted to walk out. If you have one of the student books, i suggest you try another salon first. If you really want to go to salon pini don't let them talk you into highlighting your hair. They do not have your looks at heart only their wallet.  Thought i must say the haircut was good itself, but it is not worth the atitude.
