I went in for a cut on Wednesday and was pleasantly surprised! The
décor is warm and the staff is professional. My cut was with
Annabelle, who was really sweet and skilled. She spent a while
assessing my hair and talked to me about how I wear it and if what she
had in mind would work for me. Indeed it did! The cut took about and
hour and she did some final trimming after it was dried. It had been
about 12 weeks (yikes, I know) since my last cut, so it was really
needed. It looks healthy, fresh, and really cute. I'm not as good at
styling it as Annabelle was, but I'm sure I'll get there!
At first I was thrilled to finally get my hair trimmed, but now, after a week I am mortified. Before I went in I had an edgy asymmetrical bob, albeit it was grown out a bit, but it was still edgy. The receptionist had told me that my stylist specialized in bobs and not to worry. With that recommendation I did not worry. This woman ruined my hair. I am not exaggerating. The 'asymmetrical' sides are FEATHERED! That style went out in the eighties, and although neon is trying to make a comeback the 'feathered look' is not. Not only is it feathered, but she thinned it so there is little to no volume which makes growing it out even that much more difficult. Every morning I wake up and want to put a bag over my head because it is that much of a disaster. As Samantha from Sex in the City said that her hair was her thing, so was mine. I almost want to shave it all off rather than go through the next few weeks looking like a middle aged mom tying to recover her youth.
By the way - it is now a week later and I still feel like I've been balded! I want nothing more than to go in and tell the chick that she ruined my hair, but unless she can give extensions I wouldn't want her touching my hair again.
I needed a haircut. But moving to Camarillo...I didn't have a regular hair stylist. So I tried looking up some salons on Yelp, but many of them are closed on Sundays. Go figure.
Driving aimlessly around Camarillo from one closed salon to the next, I happen to come upon this little salon. In fact, they were having a Cut-A-Thon!
The interior design and set-up was very classy. The hair products they used smelled really good too! For a trim/long layer cut with shampoo and style came out to be $35. My stylist (Paula) spent a good time style and cutting my hair to make it look very nice. I love my hair cut!
