Salon J-Elle

I've been a loyal Salon J-Elle customer for the last two and a half years and I seriously couldn't be happier. Each time I visit the Salon I have an amazing experience from beginning to end. All of the girls here are super sweet, and each one of them is a talented professional.

I've been coming to Sam for my last two appointments, and she is completely wonderful. I never feel rushed, and Sam always takes her time to make sure my color and cut are perfect. I usually don't have a game plan when I come in, but that's why I love Sam! I just arrive to my appointment and let her work her magic. She has an eye for what works, and it's obvious she loves what she's doing because it is clearly reflected in her magnificent work! Sam is also fantastic at recommending the best tools and products to help keep my hair looking amazing in between visits.

I always leave the Salon feeling like the best version of myself, and I'm already looking forward to my next appointment. A huge thank you to Lauren for creating and maintaining one of the best Salons in the area, and to Sam for providing a relaxing and therapeutic experience each time I visit!

Marcy did a phenomenal job on my hair and makeup for am event yesterday, and did so on short notice. I had no idea what I wanted done and she took great care of me and made me look absolutely stunning. I will definitely be coming back! Lauren did my eyebrows also and I highly suggest her for her waxing. Overall a great, beautiful and clean salon with talented artists!

I found this salon some time in April via YELP and haven't looked back since.
In a nutshell:
--Great prices.
--Cute decor.
--Convenient parking.
--Friendly & Talented staff.

I live in New Orleans but I grew up in Metairie, so making the trek over city limits doesn't frighten me like some New Orleanians!

I shopped around in the past to various salons from uptown to the cbd to downtown and what I discovered was either 1 of 3 things:
1. Overcrowded salons where parking is a nightmare and you feel rushed.
2. Incredibly expensive due to location.
3. Rich, snooty attitudes.

Yelp is my best friend.
I typically don't go to a place without yelping it first. Although I dont review often, I like to write reviews for places I frequent:

--This place has ample parking and is at a convenient location in Metairie (::ahem:: for those New Orleanians in need, just take the Clearview exit on I-10) the salon is just across the street from Clearview Mall on Vets.

--My stylist Jackie is fantastic. She is extremely detail oriented and thorough. I tend to request haircuts that look a very specific way - ie.1920s bob - and she nailed it!!! She also does an exceptional job with men's hair.

Being the girl who never went back to a specific salon/stylist more than twice in my life, it speaks volumes to me that I've been to Salon J-Elle almost every 4-6 weeks since April of this year. Sadly, I'm moving out of state in a few months so I am definitely gonna miss this place.

Lauren is the co-owner of Salon J.Elle and I have been going to her for years now. She always does an amazing job and really has a knack for suggesting what will look good on you. She truly is a color genius! Almost my entire family goes to her and everyone that I send her way gets hooked. No matter how trendy or conservative you are, they can style your hair.

They recently installed a mani/pedi station which is nice for a one stop shop.

I also hired Lauren for hair and makeup for my wedding and the up-styles Lauren and Sam did were breathtaking and the same goes for makeup. I felt beautiful and my hair and makeup held up the entire night, even with all the dancing.

Lastly - spray tans...yep they got em! Very nice even color, natural looking and no streaks. They have 3 different color levels to choose from and the tan lasts at least a week.

Had a great cut here for my short pixie cut. Bridget was able to get me in right after I called and gave me exactly what I wanted! Will definitely be back!!

Bridget did my hair and did an amazing job. She was very thorough and informative! She is talented, friendly and easy to work with.

A couple of months ago, I decided to get approx. 8" of hair cut off because I was bored with it.
A quick Yelp search pointed me in the direction of Salon J-Elle. Bonus: Online appointment booking. I wasn't sure who to choose for my first appointment, but Sadie sounded like a cool name. Best choice ever.

Not only did Sadie cut off the 8" of hair, but she gave me some kickass highlights and some great tips for styling/care. She was extremely conversational and made the 2-3 hour appointment fly by!

I recently went back for a trim and highlight touchup and Sadie worked her magic yet again.

Also, the dry shampoo that she introduced me to is magic in a bottle. I skipped a day of hair washing for the first time ever. EVER.

This is the only place in the city that knows how to do hair!! Any time that I have gone somewhere else, I have been disappointed. I LOVE Salon J-elle. Lauren and Marcy are both wonderful hair stylists and treat you like family whenever you come in. They are very detail oriented and make sure you are happy with the final result. I refuse to go anywhere else to get my hair done.

Quality of spray tan: excellent
Friendliness of staff: is there a 0 star.

This was my first spray tan and I have a physical disability that affects my balance. I went in with no expectations and that is exacts what I got.

The girls were all business. Zero personality. There has to be a better salon out there for spray tanning. That place made me want to cry.

It is easy to see that Margie has been a manicurist for over 30 years. She gives a top notch manicure and pedicure. She uses high quality products and she has a very nice personality.
The mani-pedi area is private and quiet with a nice massaging chair. I highly recommend this service.
