This review is specifically for Jermaine as her services are all I have had here.  She is AMAZING!!  Upon my recent return to LaLa land from SF (dont hate I LOVE it here) I was in a desperate search for my new go to beauty team.  I asked a good friend who always has good tips.  Without hesitation she said -"See Jermaine at Cristophe"  I am so glad I listened!
Upon walking into the lovely salon I met with Jermaine - we talked about a myriad of topics - ranging from love to our G1  phones and before I could take a sip of my lemon infused water my eyebrows looked AMAZING!  We did a tint and clean up.  I am telling you my brows have NEVER looked better!  I have gone to numerous salons, seen "the best" and Jermaine has made my brows look their foxiest!

Ladies what are you waiting for??!! Also she does makeup application...and I am confident she is equally skilled in this arena!

Don't be intimidated when you walk up to this ultra chic Beverly Hills Salon. The stark white interior leaves plenty of room for the colorful characters inside. Say hello to Ryan when checking in at the front desk and get a list of services available. You may have only wanted a blowout, but you just might change your mind when you find out everything they have to offer. Anything and everything you need for a day of beauty you can find under one roof. They do hair, nails, facials (which you know I haven't tried because of my loyalty to Ann Kelly, but I hear nothing but good things), make-up, waxing, lash tinting, and even electrolysis! And I just have to say that Jermaine does the Best Eyebrow Waxing in all of LA! Seriously. And I don't joke about eyebrows.

Ok...moving on....take a walk down the dark wood runway, past the who's who of Beverly Hills and on your left, in a small coat-check room, a lovely woman named Maria will be waiting with your choice of black or white robe. After you change, head back to the shampoo room making sure to turn your cell phone off, and respect this "quiet" space (the only one in the building). All the ladies are more than capable, but ask for Nitza or Elizabeth if you want the best wash for those luscious locks.

Now onto the good stuff...the beverage service! That's right...Cristophes provides complimentary coffee, cappuccino, champagne, and of course cucumber and/or lemon flavored water. There's no need to get dehydrated while sitting in the modern, yet comfortable, white leather chairs.

If you can't get an appointment with the man himself, our beloved Cristophe, don't panic! Every stylist here is an expert in their field. For example, I go to Brittan for sexy blowouts and crisp, clean cuts...while Kennedy does my o-so-natural but o-so-rich color.

Don't be surprised if you see a movie star during your visit...after all, this salon is right next to where they live, eat, shop and breathe. If you're a local or just visiting, make an appointment today and start being pampered celebrity style!

FYI: Cristophe has locations in Beverly Hills, Las Vegas, Washington D.C., Newport Beach and Saint Barth's.

Friendly Tip #1: If you're booking several treatments and get hungry, ask the front desk to order you something from one of the many nearby restaurants. They do this all the time so don't suffer in silence. Eat!

Friendly Tip #2: Bring cash for tipping! It's customary to tip the coat check 1-2 dollars, the shampoo girls 3-5 dollars, and your stylist 10 dollars or more depending on the amount of work they had to do. This isn't a requirement...but something I firmly believe in.

My BFF was in town and mentioned that she wanted to get her haircut.   It didn't take too much to convince me to get my hair did, so we made a last minute appointment with her favorite hair stylist.  For years she has been raving about this guy named Herve.  She's followed him to two different salons and constantly talks about her best haircut ever.  I think she secretly is in love with him, although she only sees him twice a year.

Herve is good, but he's not good enough to cut two people's hair at the same time, so I scheduled myself with the only other stylist that was available.  I got a guy named Glenn and was wondering to myself why he would be available on Saturday afternoon.  I didn't want to ruin the experience for my BFF, so I didn't say anything and just hoped this guy would be good.  Well, he turned out to be another french god, that knows hair.   Although he told me that I have enough hair for two, I didn't take offense and allowed him to work his magic.

I have to admit, this was the best haircut I've ever received.... BUT, it was also THE most expensive.  Was it worth it you ask?  YEEESSS!  I recommend you go see Glenn or Herve at Cristophe.

People at the front desk don't have a clue about customer service.  (I did a summer stint in between college and law school working the front desk at Prive Salon and in case you're wondering, yes, those people at the front desk actually believe they are better than you!  Good grief).

Anyway, my stylist (Julia) was 1.25 HOURS LATE for my appt (not incl the 15 minutes prior to my appt because I arrived early) without so much as a quick apology and offer of tea when she was running only 15 minutes late (read: no contact with Julia after 1 hour).  Color was ok, but I gave her the formula.  I CAN'T believe she spent so little time on my hair.  It came out ok, but because I am willing to pay the price for excellence, I was sorely disappointed.  Plus, her shampoo assistant left me mid-shampoo to take a cell phone call and LIED to Julia that she had combed my hair before conditioning (she didn't).

Word on the street is that the Cristophe Salon has had its day...I think I missed that day...and so I'm not going back.

First I had a haircut with Michael.  I thought he did a pretty good job on the haircut but spent a lot of time talking about his philosophy of cutting, etc., and why he is the bomb.  And he criticized the person who'd previously cut and colored my hair before in the way that "top" stylists often have (you know -- "I would never put down someone else, BUT ...")  Not completely convinced the cut was worth $200, but oh well.  I was pretty sold on his talk about his unique philosophy, etc. etc.  We also talk about the color I currently have and how he would change it.

So I make an appointment for color ten days after.  And when I come in, it becomes clear that he remembers I came in before, but not when.  Which is a great test.  He checks out my hair and is like, "OK, so you need a cut, right?"  Um ... no ... you cut my hair ten days ago, and actually my plan was that I would spend $200 for a cut that would last, oh I don't know, more than two weeks.  I say "No, just color."  He goes through my hair and checks out the color and is like, "This is great, so pretty ... we did such a good job before ..." etc.  Um ... no ... this is not your work and in fact I last recall you ragging on it.

But his color job was fine and nice.  And I am very picky about both cut and color.

So ... I'm torn, but I'm giving three stars because the salon itself is nice and clean and they'll feed your meter if you parked on the street outside, which you can do if you have the first appointment of the day; they have good hours if you have a busy schedule; and Michael himself is certainly skilled.  But I defected to Taka Hair ($60!) for my cuts after this experience, and no one noticed the difference.  If you can't rely on the master himself to notice, I guess you can't be surprised when no one else does.

Practical: tips in cash only.

Update:  I just remembered one more thing about that second visit.  I said I didn't want a blowdry (because I didn't have time and had to get to work).  When I said that, I was told "OK" and they whipped off the cape and sent me on my way.  However, at this point my hair was still literally sopping wet.  I'm not sure if it's because they thought I was being cheap or what, but usually when I tell a stylist I have to run they at least quickly dry (or have their assistant dry) it so that it's not dripping.  I am not kidding you, people were literally staring at me on the way out and some woman on the street stopped me to ask whether I knew my hair was still wet (because again, it was dripping).  Hm.  Maybe I should have given them two stars.

I followed my hairdresser here from Fekkai. My experiences here were terrible. They gave me an infection in my nail from a manicure on one visit, and on the next visit, made me wait for an hour because the colorist was late and the manager couldn't have cared less. Multiple calls placed to discuss these issues were simply unreturned.

In short- an overpriced, disappointing, unprofessional operation.

I came to Michael a year and 1/2 ago with a short mop of breaking, wet cotton textured, brownish hair. Today I have a shiny mane of long, blonde hair. This transformation took around a year.! Trust me, if you saw what I started with, this is quite an achievement. My cut is stylish and I've finally found someone who can "take off just a little bit" so that it can grow. My hair is the best condition it's ever been in. I highly recommend him.

Hesitant to follow through with my appointment, I was really pleased to see smiles on the receptionist's face. My stylist was very friendly and gave me a phenomenal haircut that I'm so excited to be sporting. A few other stylists came by and all were mighty charming-shocker, I know. Parking is the one draw back-limited to lots and meters. But again, I have great hair-so who cares about parking!!!

I have been going to see Francois for almost 10 years and he is by far the best colorist.  Every time I go and get my hair cut or styled somewhere else, I always get compliments on my great highlights.  My Mom and Sister are also big fans.  He doesnt cut hair, just colors and he is the best!

Worlds best hair cuts and relatively low on attitude... not just for a salon in Beverly Hills but for a salon in general... EXPENSIVE!!!! but worth every penny your hair will not just look great the day you walk out but 2 months later (if your the type who waits until the last minuet to get a hair cut like me)
