I used to go here religiously a few years back...ok, more like 5 or 8 years ago lol...and I got my hair cut AND colored by Barbara. Not sure if she's still there...but if she is, she's worth checkin' out.
My experience here was, for the most part...good. I LOVED my hair 9 times out of 10 but have to say, if you want CONSISTENCY...you might not get it. The color was more "cutting edge" and "funky"....think Baliage (painting on color rather than using foils, etc.) So if you want "oh natural" ALL the time and for it to appear as if you don't, ahem, ENHANCE, your locks...might steer clear of the Blu.
I got the most compliments when I was transitioning from blond to a kind of strawberry-golden-honey color...it was GREAT!!! Everyone always asked me what color it was and who did it. Unfortunately, when I went back in to get it done again, I said "do exactly what you did last time!" Wellllll...she did. The bad part was that now my hair had a darker base so it grabbed all of the color..I ended up a lovely brunette. Looked nice but so not what I wanted!!
So if you're in for some change or need a little rocker edge...run on down to Salon Blu!!

If you want a great haircut, go to this salon and ask for Vivian (they call her viv). She hands-down gives the best haircut, makes it easy and actually fun (for those guys who hate getting hair cuts). My girlfriend goes to her as well and she loves her too. Great value. Besides the good haircut, she convenient and makes room in my schedule and is funny to talk with. Go give her a visit, guaranteed you'll be going back!
oh, and for you single guys, she's pretty damn hot....
Andrew Robarge is a terrific hair stylist who can do color and cut and gives al ot of personal attention to his clients.
I went here to get my hair done for prom. Abby was an amazing stylist. She did a great job with my hair. She's really sweet, I had a lot of fun talking to her while she did my hair. I got a lot of compliments that night. I loved the final product.
Everyone that works there is very talented and nice. I loved the vibe. I appreciate that there weren't any snobs or assholes. All the other people getting their hair done looking amazing as well.

Lorena, who is the goddess of hair styling (I swear) was the one that helped me. I just went in for a straight blow dry... nothing complicated or fancy... she could have gotten me in and out in 20 min but instead she took the creative liberty to "play" with my hair cause she said it was perfect for a cute 40s glamour style do.
I thought she was NUTS. I just wanted my hair straight and modern... no waves anywhere, just flat-ironed-asian-style straight. I wanted to run out. That's until she was done "playing", added some product and plugged in the flat iron to leave my hair super straight like I wanted. The waves she added looked BEAUTIFUL so I stopped her right there!!! She was right. I looked like a completely different person. I have never felt so glamorously... still, the hair looked natural and fresh... not stuffy... perfect for day or night. WOW!! What a difference!!!
The way I see it, if you love what you do, you excel without even trying. I had literally gone in for a quick no-brain blow-dry and being the artist that she is she took it to the next level... I guess it's what happens when you love what you do.

i had the best experience with andrew (andy)! wow, he is something else, super nice, amazing at making you feel welcome and comfortable, gave the best freakin' scalp massage everrrr. not to mention giving me the best highlights and lowlights i have ever had! and i've been getting my hair highlighted for about 10 years, in many different cities (i move a lot). i showed him a picture of the ideal hair that i wanted, like i always do for colorists (they usually can't even come close) and he got it to a t! better even! i also got a gloss which he recommended for me to give my hair some shine. my hair is glistening now! i think i even saw it twinkle. i'm almost afraid to publish this and tell everyone how great he is for fear he'll be so busy he won't be available to me at my beck and call! haha, sooo recommend him.
New to the area and needing a haircut, I popped into Salon Blu a couple of days ago to get my curly locks chopped.
I called ahead of time, and the man who answered the phone was more than friendly; he even called me "honey", which I love. I explained how I was new in town and needed a cut, and he scheduled me with Melissa.
Melissa was pretty thorough with my hair, and I must say that I have some hard hair to deal with. She cut a few inches off and styled my curls. The cut was okay; not the best I have ever had, but definitely not the worst.
