Salon Blu participated in the PINK Benefit "Drop Dead Gorgeous" at Farenheit Ultra Lounge last Saturday and I was fortunate enough to be a hair model for them.
Truly artists, purely talented, the staff at Salon Blu were warm, friendly and fun. James, the owner, is an expert colorist, his prissy counter-part (also named James) is a visionary of legendary proportions.
After learning of the owner's personal experience with breast cancer, I immediately saw why the salon was "stepping it up" at this month's Drop Dead Gorgeous event.
Visionary James did my roommate's hair and couldn't have impressed me more. She has thick dark hair down to her lower back and he was able to tame it into a frame for his masterpiece - a sculpture of pink extensions that towered over us all, transforming her into one sexy sassy chica.
Owner James did my hair, trimming it, darkening it, and then putting a few pink extensions in that resembled a Dr. Seuss character so much, we ended up naming my up-do "the Fudwuzzle."
Photos to come, I promise...
The event was fabulous, but it really couldn't have been pulled off without the passion and the skills of this incredible salon.
Great Service.... I will be going back there.: My experience with Blu Salon was an excellent one.
I called the salon to talk to them about what my plans were for the wedding i was going too and they were so helpful and made me feel like they were the right salon to help me.
I received a facial that made my skin feel really clean and better looking.
I will definitely go there again.
The stylists there bent over backwards for me when I needed a last minute appointment during the busiest time of the year--prom.
They opened two hours early because I needed my hair done for a wedding and Katie K. did a PHENOMENAL job.
The prices were "average high" but it was worth the visit and satisfaction.
I just started going to salon blu and I'm really impressed with Jace. He knows his stuff. My hair is difficult to cut because I'm starting to bald, but Jace always does a good job. It comes out even and grows in perfectly. Jace has awesome style and I highly recommend him for guys hair.
I've been to this fabulous salon many times! Bebe took care of my hair chaos. Too bad, she's no longer at Salon Blu :( But I'd recommend going to James. He's very artistic and will take care of all your needs! Yes, it could be pricey. But this is YOUR hair!!! I've had many haircuts at different places. No place has satisfied me like Salon Blu. I can't wait to come back when I'm more financially stable. :o)
Where do I even BEGIN! I called for an appointment, and they said they would gladly take me for a highlight and hair cut. So I showed up 10 minutes early and ended up waiting 20 minutes before they could even see me. One lady sat me down and discussed what I wanted, then had the sister of the owner wash my hair (? not even sure she is a hair stylist. Looks like she just walked in from the mall or something) While I was getting my hair washed, they sat another customer in my original chair, and they made me sit back in the waiting area WITH WET HAIR AND A TOWEL ON MY HEAD!!! After sitting their for another 10 minutes, and being passed on to a third stylist, the "Lead Stylist" said he would cut my hair. Oh God was this a mistake. Poor me was thinking: "They feel bad for passing me around so they are giving me extra special treatment." Was I wrong...
HE BUTCHERED MY HAIR. I kid you not, homeboy gave me 360 bangs. 360 bangs!!!!!!! How hard is it to do side swoop bangs?!? I am sorry, but when I go to get a hair cut I DO NOT want to be some artistic experiment, I want what I ask for. Unfortunately, he had me stand up with my back to the mirror so I couldn't stop him before it was too late. I was so frustrated with my experience I refused to pay full price. After all was said and done I walked out of Salon Blu 3 HOURS LATER. I wish they would have just told be they were busy instead of trying to take on more appointments than they could handle. Needless to say it has taken me almost 8 months to grow out my 360 bangs. Unless you want to look like the lead singer of WHITE SNAKE go somewhere else!!!! Plus it is extremely OVERPRICED. I would post pictures, but I have tried to block out that period in my life and would rather save some face....
This is the first place I ever got my hair fully done at.
Including bleaching dying and highlighting as well as a cut and wash.
She washed my hair three times.
And talked to me the whole time she did my hair.
A lot of the people there back when I went were all really attractive and friendly.
I went in the week before for a consult on the style and coloring I wanted.
I ended up paying $250 for a hair cut, brown hair, bleached strips and purple on them and it took over 2 hours.
Except for the price, I really like this place.
The atmosphere is cool-they have pet cat. The prices however are steep and for the style cut, well, you can find similar do's for cheaper prices elsewhere. I mostly give it two stars cuz of pricing. The service was really good and the dude washing my hair was super friendly and easy to talk to. My salon stylist was also very down to earth and understood the style I wanted very well.
LOVE THIS PLACE!!!
Got my hair cut a couple weeks ago by JACE (fierce & flawless) and he was absolutely amazing, he totally got my vision for my hair and did exactly what I wanted and it came out even cuter than I had imagined.
I'm usually pretty scared going into hair salons for the first time cuz usually i feel that they are sizing me up ya know? but the second I walked in I was greeted (by i think the owner? he was super nice/friendly too), and felt totally comfortable. The salon decor was really cool and they had great reading material/magazines too.
All the stylists their had their own unique style, and the clientel that was there was very diverse which was really neat, it seems that there's a stylist for any type of person there.
I am definetly going back to Jace for any of my hair needs :) (you should too) and who ever does Jace's hair works their too and did an amazing job on him also.
Bebe is the BEST! I saw her for the first time about two weeks ago because I needed something different. She gave me peek-a-boo highlights and blunt bangs which I absolutely LOVE! I've had so many compliments about my hair since I went to her and I will definitely go to her again. Right when I got there, she made me feel so comfortable and I felt like she was one of my girl friends. It maybe pricey but its worth every penny!
Go to Bebe, she is the BEST!!!!
Bebe is the SH%%*&*T.
She honestly can work magic on my hair. She has done some extreme coloring, and silky smooth but textered adorable cuts and even though it is a bit onthe pricier side, after trying 15 stylists closer tome here inthe city I have to say I am going to start making the drive to go see her again cause in the last year ALL of my haircuts have sucked.. So in the attempt to save money I spent more trying to get it right and ended up having a bad haircut and too much hair taken off...
Bebe rocks I will never stray again lol
PS I did find that Cameron at Studio Lagorio is good for a quick trim UNTIL your next big cut, he is pretty good but for the edgier more up to date do's Bebe is your girl.
Came here ONCE and once only to get my hair done quite a while ago when my Melissa from Plan B was on vacation. Anyhow it was a nice spring day and I couldn't wait for Melissa's return so I came here. My stylist was nice. But when it came to do a blow dry finish I almost passed out from heat frustration. I asked her why they don't turn up the a/c in this place. That is when i found out they don't have a/c. I decided to not have my hair blow dried all the way because I would have passed out. Also everyone else in there looked a bit sweaty. Not a pretty site.
But I do love the fact that this salon is set in an old, brick building, that's where points go to and the nice stylist. But hello, who opens up a salon and decides to not put in a/c?! This is California folks.
Let's put it this way: I should've just left after the first 30 minutes they ignored me.
I made an appointment here for a simple wash and blow dry after work since I was going to an event later that evening. When I arrived, no one was helping me and some guy told me to just sit down in the waiting area. I sat down for a good 30 minutes waiting patiently, and then finally the minute I was about to leave - someone finally said "oh I'll take her"
At least my hair stylist was super friendly and funny. Maybe I came on a bad day - not too sure...
James is amazing! I went in for a cut and color and he totally updated my look! He really listened to what I wanted and the result was better than I expected. I also got my eyebrows done by Kristy and they look amazing! The arch of my brows is more defined and my eyes look bigger and brighter. I feel like a new and improved person! I would definately recommend seeing James and Kristy for your styling needs!
I responded to Salon Blu stylist, Meredith's, request for a hair model on craigslist and was very happy with the free service I received.
Meredith used a demi-permanent dye, Framesi Eclectic, on my dark brown hair. Eclectic is not a progressive color so it does not get darker over time. It deposits and stays on tone. Eclectic has no Ammonia, no Fragrance, it is simply a creme conditioning hair color that lasts 4 to 6 weeks. Each color molecule is surrounded by material incorporating a sugar derivative (for moisture,) vitamin E (for environmental defense), fatty acids (to assist in absorption) and amino acids (for restructuring).
She consulted with me about what I wanted and was meticulous about applying the color. Afterward the color was brilliant and shiny. My hair was incredibly soft and felt deeply moisturized.
I highly recommend Meredith for her color services and the demi-permanent dye for added hair nourishment and a fun change.
I gotta be honest, this place is pricey.. and there was a time or two I was on time for my appointment but was taken LATE. BUT after years of searching for a stylist who knows how to play with my hair, I'm willing to pay for their prices.
Vern does wonders for my super fine strands, giving me edgy bangs or manageable layers. And every time I wanna add some color to my locks, she takes the time to discuss what may or may not look good.
I also like that they offer tea or water every time I'm there.
HMMM. Ok, I went here a while back to get a cut-- pretty expensive (as it is the trend now)-- the girl I was with did a very quick, but excellent job. I came back here two days ago, and got a bang thing majigger update-- under 5 minutes and I was completely satisfied.
Definitely will be back IF I want to totally change my do. Otherwise, trims should NOT cost 65 bucks. I prefer the under 20 salon list on yelp for those.
I've been to Salon Blu several times, and although my roommate has always gotten a perfect cut, I leave disappointed.
My roommate has very thick, straight hair and she usually goes to Bebe who gives her great cuts. I on the other hand, have fine hair that tends to flip in weird ways when it hits my shoulders or poof up in weird ways. I've had a different stylist every time and I'm sorry but I don't remember their names. One was a guy and two of them were girls.
I went to Salon Blu twice when I had short hair for trims. I had heard it was good and I am in college so I wanted a place I could get my hair cut at near campus. I brought several reference pictures of what I looked like when I first got the cut at the salon near my house. However, the guy and the girl both cut it in ways so I looked like a soccer mom trying to look hip. It was so frustrating because I kept telling them what doesn't work with my hair but they didn't appear to listen.
The last time I went was spur of the moment because my boyfriend had just broken up with me and I needed to do something. I asked for a trim and a little styling to my bangs framed my face better. I was unsure of whether or not I liked it when I left and when I got home my roommate agreed that it just kind of hung there and didn't do ANYTHING for me. I called back to tell them I was unsatisfied but they didn't have a receptionist at the time and no one would bother to answer the phone. When I finally did get in touch with someone, they told me everyone was booked and basically couldn't give me the time of day even though I was miserable.
Almost a month after this incident, the girl who cut my hair called me and joyfully asked how I was and if I'd like to schedule another appointment. She didn't act like anything had happened before. I politely declined and let them know I was not planning on coming back anytime soon.
Now I go to Salon De La Vie in San Jose and I love the way they cut my hair.
I followed Maria here from my old salon. Not only is she nice, approachable, talented and has the sweetest personality ever..she is also my therapist when I go to her. I vent while she does my hair, then she vents, then we all vent together. lol salons are so funny.
She is truly talented, I have been a client of hers for awhile now AND I used to work for the same company as her, so I have seen her work for years and known many other co-workers who have had their hair done by her and it ALWAYS comes out lookin FABULOUS! You go girl!
I got my hair cut here about a month ago, but I wanted to see how I felt about it after it started to grow into itself. I love it. I saw James, and I gave him full artistic license. "Just do what you think would look good, but make it short." When he explained his vision, I was skeptical, but he swore it would look amazing and he asked me again if I wanted to just trust his vision. I went for it. He did this really nifty 60's looking flippity-do with different lengths and madness all around. At first it was shocking, because it was like BIG HAIR when I left the salon. But after I was re-shampooed and un-product-ed, I ended up super happy. (Sadly enough, this is also the first time people have actually complimented me on a haircut.) It really is unique and I'm still loving it a month later.
The bad - the cashier / shampoo lady. She was violent with my fragile little head and overall just abraisave and unfriendly. I knew the total would be $75, so I planned ahead on an even 20% tip - $15. When I handed her the money, she made the rudest face as if I insulted them with such a low tip. She said "it's $75, this is $90", and I had to explain that the tip was in there, which was why there was more money. She continued to mutter angrily under her breath and I said "is that not enough?" (I never go to salons, maybe 20% isn't enough??) She said "Oh, it's enough"... but sarcastically and rudely. What the hell? Seriously - is 20% not enough nowadays? But even if it's not, it's unacceptable behavior to demand any tip, let alone make a person feel bad for graciously giving anything at all.
So that moment left a bad taste in my mouth. However, James was lovely, friendly, he rocked those f'n scissors, and that's what I wanted. If I go back, I will do my damndest to make sure The Mean Lady isn't there.
Katie has been doing my hair for quite some time and she is one of two people in the world who I trust to touch my hair. I have the most difficult hair type ever imagined, (you wouldn't believe how many stylists have started my hair and then stopped right in the middle without completing it), and Katie always manages to make my hair look awesome. Although I am not a very daring person when it comes to hair styles, Katie never tries to convince me to try something I will regret later but when I do feel like being more daring, I know she can also provide some great tips. All in all if you are in the area, ask for Katie, you wont be disappointed. My only gripe is her newest salon seems to be a little more pricey then I am used to but for her it is worth it.
So I made an appointment here the day of a wedding I was going to. I'm from the other side of the country, so I was going in totally blind. When we first got there (my mother was going to get her hair straightened while I got my updo), the receptionist girl seemed pretty clueless, and acted like she could care less. My appointment started about 20 minutes late, which when you are on a i-have-to-be-at-a-wedding schedule, isn't alright. I had photos of what I wanted, and of course, left them at the hotel.
Bebe, however, did an amazing job. She was friendly, and knew exactly what I wanted. By the end, I felt like I had been going there for years!
My mother's appointment started about 40 minutes late (not ok), which AGAIN, when you are on a i-have-to-be-at-a-wedding schedule, isn't alright. James, however, did an amazing job. So... I'm torn. First impressions, 2 stars... service in the end, 4.5-5 stars... so I'll stick with my 4.
They do not take credit cards, FYI. That's never an easy one.
My hero: James, the owner of Salon Blu
The story: I had gotten my hair highlighted at another salon a week before attending a wedding as a bridesmaid. The blonde strands looked green so I panicked and tried to tone it down on my own. It turned yellow/orange. I booked a last minute appt with James and Poof! it was fixed. Not only fixed.... it looks radiant. He was cool, quick, smooth and worked his magic with finesse.
Ohhhh ya, James, I meant what I said that day ... I Luuuuuv you!
I came to Salon Blu due to my friend Rachael's consistent begging to go see her stylist Veronica. I am always on the search for a bomb stylist and I'm used to throwin down a few hundreds looking for the perfect cut.. I am so glad I went to see Veronica! She actually listened to me. I wanted something different where you could actually tell I had a haircut! Before this I was going to W Salon and after a while no one noticed I had a fresh new cut. It made me sad to spend a good amount of money at a salon and not get any compliments or notice taken to it! But once I got my cut from Vern, EVERYONEEEE loved it! I had a cute jap style haircut with straight bangs that was a good change from what I'm used to.
Also, Veronica was nice enough to come in on her day off when the salon was closed just to see me! I think that was very sweet and customer servicey of her! If you want something new and different, I say go to Vern. She's also great with color too! :)
My experience was a few months back, but I thought people should know about this.
I usually get my hair done here because its conveniently located right by Santa Clara University, my school. This time I couldn't get in with my regular facial lady so I wanted to try Salon Blu's facials.
Mariposa was the person who did my facial, and I could hardly call it a facial. During my, what was supposed to be a relaxing experience, she was talking about her boyfriend the owner and her baby practically half of the time. WOW, I thought it was supposed to be a relaxing experience for myself! When it came time for extractions she had told me that she couldn't do them because she didnt have the license to do them. *RED FLAG, went up in my brain.* I was thinking okay thats weird I always get extractions.
When it came time to pay and we went into the hair salon side of the salon she just started breast feeding her baby right in front of me, while she was trying to talk to me about my skin. I tried so hard to look at her eyes and not her breasts because she didn't have a blanket over them, they were both just fully exposed. I know that this is a touchy subject because she is feeding her daughter, but her daughter looked so big maybe almost 2 yrs old. AND on top of all that she had her breasts out while this 10 year old boy was sitting on the couch. I'm sorry but at least put a blanket on yourself.
I went to my regular facial lady about a two weeks ago and told her about my experience there, she told me that there's only one license for what she does and they are able to do extractions!!! Knowing that I am NEVER GOING BACK TO SALON BLU!!! That is just horrible.
If this place is supposed to be the best salon in silicon valley you would think there would be a different type of professionalism in that establishment. I can't get the picture of her walking around the salon with her boobs hanging out talking to clients and inside their lobby area. That's not professional at all and is something that shouldn't be tolerated in an environment that is servicing people.
i came here once and that's once too many. i bought this package that came with a facial, hair cut and updo....i only went for the up-do and swear i am never going back again. I had medium length hair and the guy couldnt do it for me....so he basically just blow dry my hair and parted it zig zag down the middle...
WTF!!!!! i got so pissed off and that guy had a big attitude.
i only tipped him 5 bucks cuz i was totally disappointed....
When I walked into this place I was not sure what kind of reaction I would get. I loved the vibe but as a Muslim who covers her hair, I felt a little out of place. Bebe came and immediately talked about ways they could cut my hair without any guys present. Not what I expected. They were so cool and open. I came in on the day they closed early and Bebe cut my hair . James even took some time off. I was surprised but so grateful for them working with me.
My hair cut was off the hook! Bebe knew exactly what I wanted and cut my hair so well that even though I feel bad spending so much on a hair cut ($60=6 months of diapers) it is worth it. I feel better about myself and that makes me happy.
Happy Susan= Happy mom= Chucky Cheese's for the kids ;0)
Thanks to Bebe for an awesome haircut. Thanks to the staff for not being closed minded about a Muslim covered chic cutting her hair.
Seriously people think we are usually bald under the scarves (we don't cover ALL the time!)
Thanks to James who left early so there wouldn't be any men around.
Again, thanks to those who stayed late...even though they had concerts to go to.
Oh and I brought my little monsters with me. They were so cool with them. My kids had a blast playing in their backyard.
Great atmosphere, great service, and amazing creativity!
I greatly enjoyed the time spent working with my stylist to decide on colors and styles for my hair. The staff was professional and fun, and the salon is really gorgeous and cool.
I'll definitely be coming back here for future cuts and styles. It's worth the price if you want something simple, or something funky.
I have finally found a stylist I can trust. I am one of the pickiest people around when it comes to my hair cut and color and the only person that keeps a smile on my face is Bebe. She is extremely talented when it comes to cutting hair that will best frame your face, and she is AWESOME with color. I have looooooooooooooong hair and she knows I like to change it back and forth from blonde to brunette and she never does anything to damage my hair. She is the best and I highly recommend Bebe if you wanna walk out looking HOT!!
Let's just say if Bernadette (Bebe) was in my dance circle at the club, I would be shouting "Go Bebe, Go Bebe, Get busy, It's your birthday" cuz she made my hair look soooooo cute and stylish. Not only did my man dig it, all his friends did also, and my girl friend kept saying how hot I Iooked with my new do. I was Blazin' last night, all because of precious Bebe. I will be posting my before and after pics soon. Oh, and I got lucky because her appt after me got cancelled and she was able to spend extra time making my hair look extra funky for a show I was going to that night!
*Thanks Salon Blu and especially Bernadette!
I've gotten my hair cut by two stylists here and probably won't return. I've been looking to change my stylist and told two separate stylists at Salon Blu that I was looking for a change and that they could do whatever they wanted. I had a consultation for the first one and she said she'd have some pictures for me when I came back for my appointment, and when I did, she didn't have any suggestions. Both times the stylist just gave me a trim. The cuts were good enough, but I didn't get the creativity and change I was looking for. This may be a great place to go if you have your own ideas about what you want to do but they weren't able to offer me ideas for change. I liked the salon itself and may go back at some point (the location is very convenient for me) if I have something specific in mind - the cuts weren't lacking in execution.
I should amend this to note that I got a very nice message from the owner offering to cut my hair personally if I wanted to give the salon another shot. I believe the offer was geniuine but I had just gotten the best cut of my life at that other highly rated salon on The Alameda earlier in the week, and am pretty devoted to my new stylist so I'm going to take a pass on the re-cut offer. However, I'm upping my rating by one star because I appreciate the fact that there was an attempt to make a customer happier.
My mom and I both got haircuts here and we both looked and felt fantastic! Both of us got easy to keep up and flattering haircuts. Megan suggested the flat iron to me--I've always had ridiculously curly hair and wasn't sure what to think at first, but it was straight, and cute and fun until I washed it, then it was back to being curly and cute and fun. Mom got a great short haircut from Anthony, she went home and her significant other loves it. This may be the best haircut I've ever had.
Just edited this on 7/12/07. Megan is at Alchemy in downtown Willow Glen now and I've followed her over there.
UPDATE:
James still cuts my hair and it still rocks.
But that salon is busy and since he owns it, expect him to be doing more than just your hair.
If you don't mind not having his undivided attention then you will be fine. But if it will bother you that he takes calls from both his cell phone and the business phone, goes out to talk to a delivery person or stops to write a check to a vendor, then you might want to get another stylist.
Coffee, tea or water are still offered. Sometimes they have other goodies too. Plenty of magazines to flip through and cool music playing.

I cannot tell you how hard it is to find a stylist that can cut naturally curly hair. I have been as far as Sacramento to go to a stylist. Not anymore! I have found my hair's best friend and his name is James!
I trust him enough to know that he will cut and style my hair and I can walk out of there looking good. Not like when I used to have to make a pit stop at home to wash and style my hair after other cuts. I have never received so many compliments on my hair before. Love James!
If you have curly hair, I highly recommend him. He's extremely patient and will thoroughly talk to you about what he's going to do if you are a bit on the shy side. I just sit in his chair and say, do what you want and I end up looking fabulous! Another tidbit: I asked him if I should color my hair, he said no. How many stylists tell you not to spend money if you don't need to? Well he did. He didn't want to give me a service if he didn't think I needed it. Again, LOVE JAMES!
Whoever shampoos the hair has been trained well! It feels like a massage everytime. And they don't skimp on some random product. They use what would be good for your hair.
They offer student discounts on certain days and everytime I've gone they have had a special of some sort. Make sure you call for details. Oh, and they also offer coffee or tea when you walk in, have tons of magazines for you to read and cool music to listen to. Overall a good experience.
After 14+ years with the same hair guy - I decided it was time for a change... I reviewed and researched dozens of salons in my area and came upon Salon Blu. It's a cozy little salon - happy upbeat music - and a very warm reception.
I selected Anthony Cuevas based on the fab reviews and I was not one bit disappointed. After a horrible home chop job- Anthony hooked IT UP!! Anthony is personable, professional and really impressed me with his cutting skillzzzz. He tamed my curly mess in no time! My hair feels and looks like I've always wanted it to look - I feel SEXAAYYY!!! I'm ecstatic !! I've found my new hair man!!!!
Salon Blu is great!!
Bebe styled my hair for a wedding last week and it turned out great. Thanks for the referral Christina!! I would recommend Bebe to anyone who wants to get a great style.
From what I have seen of the other stylists...they all do great work, are friendly, and have great style!
James, the owner is great and was willing to help out my charity auction last month.
Eric at the front is such a sweetie ... and hilarious.
The salon itself is really artsy and different. It has a cool feel to it and the location is great.
Next door at Blu Spa (same owner), Christina does amazing facials and waxing. The best!!
I've finally learned my lesson. No more random salons down the street. No more "helpful" recommendations from friends and co-workers. And, gasp, no longer needing Yelp to find a salon worth trying.
Go to Monica. Seriously. By far the only person i've ever gone to and said, "Surprise me." She cuts, dyes, and gives The Best Friggin Scalp Massage.
Plus, who else lets you read Playboy as you wait? ;)
I've been coming here for awhile now. I used to go to Veronica. She's really nice and friendly. She definitely knows her stuff. I was definitely satisified with my hair both times she cut. Only down side is she doesn't do the student discount.
James does though! AND HE IS FABULOUS! James is the owner and he definitely knows his stuff. He works magic with the scissors. I've definitely been satisfied every time I walk out of the salon. Just ask for his opinion and he will make you look amazing!
They offer you water, or tea right when you check in. They also hang your coat. The customer service here is outstanding. The atmosphere is great too.
ASK FOR JAMES!
I've never gone in for a hair cut, but my aesthetician who used to work at Pure Beauty settled in over here and I positively adore her.
Christina is fun and spunky and above all a perfectionist. She won't let you leave her bench until she's 100% satisfied with the work she's completed! I've recommended her to friends and family and they keep coming back!
I only wish she wasn't all the way down in San Jose. Maybe I just need to move.
What an incredible experience. James and his crew are a fleet of amazing professionals who will give you the experience you seek. He shows true care for his clients and will do just about anything to ensure you are happy.
Super creative, lots of fun energy and true professionalism are a guarantee for you at this salon.
Thank you!!!!
I have major issues with cutting my hair. It's always too short, too long, etc. I've never gone back to the same hairstylist twice...except here! My hairstylist here is James. He's great. Very nice, likes to talk about food...cuts hair great. The only bad thing is he always tries to make you look "edgy". Or at least he tries to make me look edgy. Maybe he just thinks i look too plain. But I digress.
James is great and he has a lot of good suggestions if you're trying to change up your hair and do something drastic or cool or trendy. However, haircuts here are expensive. 75 bucks a pop. not including tip. I know it's about quality and blah blah, but hey i'm a student. come on now. I need that money to buy books that i'm not going to read.
Anyway, go here and ask for James if you can afford it! I would totally come here every 6 weeks like recommended if i had the income.
