Never going to another nail place! Jewels is the only person I will ever trust to do my nails. I get so many complements on her work! Got zero when I was desperate (got sick and had to cancel my appt with Jewels) and went to la belle. That is for another review at another time.
I love what I have now and can't wait to go back in a couple of weeks and get another amazing nail job. Thanks Jewels.1 Previous Review: Show all »

I do love the stylist that I FINALLY found at Salon 7. However, it did take me 3 visits to find a friendly and competent stylist. Why did I keep going back? My first two visits were walk- in bangs trims and the ladies that performed each did a good job. The experience with each bang trim was not very pleasant though. The first lady was very surprised that I was a walk-in client and acted as if she did not want to do my 10 minute trim. She told me that Salon 7 was at a bad location so was surprised to find a walk-in client (though the salon advertises that walk-ins are welcome). The second bang trim, the girl never introduced herself or talked to me for the short amount of time the bang trim took. I still have no idea who she was and don't care to know since I won't ever request her.
I finally came in for a haircut and McKenzie did a wonderful job. She was talkative, nice, and did exactly what I wanted. I just don't understand why not everyone who works there is as nice. I will keep going to McKenzie but the salon over all still only gets 3 stars from me. First impressions stick with you for a long time. -

Hi Salon 7. You really should not do a Groupon that you don't plan to honor.
I bought the Groupon for a hair cut here because it sounded like a good salon. Like the previous commenter I got bamboozled by the "select stylists only" language in the deal. Unlike the previous commenter, I never even got a freakin' hair cut.
A couple months after the deal, I got a message that Lanae Morris, "the stylist honoring your Groupon," was leaving Salon 7 and I would have to go visit her at My Salon. WTF??? That is not what I paid for. I definitely forked over the cash for the "range of stylists" that the Groupon promised, so I could make sure to work with someone who knew how to cut my very temperamental curly hair.
Okay, so I was angry and felt like I'd been cheated a bit, but I'm a reasonable person. So I made a pretty concerted effort to contact Lanae. After a month of phone messages and text tag, she still hadn't given me an appointment time and mostly wasn't responding at all.
So now I'm returning the Groupon, and I'll never patronize Salon 7. Such a bad business move. Incredibly disrespectful to paying customers. You deserve to have your ratings drop over that kind of behavior.
Luckily I heard about Leilani over at http://renewmdreno.com ... her book is awesome and all my friends go to her. That's where I'm taking my hair. -

I have been going to Salon 7 for over a year now and have always been very happy, hair, nails and waxing are the services I have had, and have always been happy. I pleased that I know I will always get a great haircut and fantastic service.

I'm raising it to two stars after my visit. Sorry guys, I tipped well because I felt guilty about the reviews but my experience was what it was and it was kind of unpleasant.
Pros: Not the best haircut I've ever gotten but definitely one of the better ones. The Salon is cute and quirky with good hours.
Why I will never step foot in here again:
I felt conned into going here because I did not get to pick my stylist. All I wanted was a haircut and was willing to pay up to $75 for one. If they had been truthful on their Groupon, I would not have purchased a $60 groupon for $30 for a $32 haircut. The $2 wasn't worth losing picking my stylist. But Groupon has a no refund policy so I just got a bad deal.
Fine fine, mistakes happen. Why I can't give them a good review for the visit itself was the unprofessionalism of bringing up my review CONSTANTLY while I was there pretending that "some girl online" posted. Dude, stop being passive aggressive, you know it was me and I know you know.
I only wanted a few inches taken off but the stylist talked me into 7 inches because then I could donate to locks of love. I really didn't want to but how can you say no to helping a kid with cancer. I went home and looked at the locks of love website and the miniumum length to donate is 10 inches! I cut off my hair for really no good reason. Yeah, not too happy with that.
Gah! Salon 7, you are way too much trouble for me. You're just not what I'm looking for.
PS. Also,Thanks for trying to contact me Brian sorry but I just don't want to think about Salon 7 ever again.1 Previous Review: Show all »

I decided to try Salon 7 because a friend of mine recommended it. I had been going to the same stylist at another salon for 2 years and was ready for a change. I got scheduled with Rebecca Schembri and she was amazing! I love having my hair done by her and I would recommend her to anyone.

I generally have bad experiences cutting my hair, maybe it's because I'm a tomboy at heart & I don't feel very comfortable in a catty, petty environment. Maybe I don't give the stylist a good idea of what I want... I don't know why but I'm usually not happy.
I came to A Salon 7 under a recommendation from a friend. I saw Kristen, and she was AWESOME!!!!!! I gave her full control of my hair & she gave me the best haircut!!!! It's so funky & fun and it totally fits my personality and life! I will be going back and I don't think I will ever trust my hair to anyone else!!! Thanks Kristen!!!!! I LOVE my hair! :D -

Finding a good hairdresser is an adventure. In my 5 years in Reno I was still serching....then I came across Salon 7. My hairdresser is Jason Reid, he is professional, fun, and will put in the time and effort to cut and style your hair right. Before I went to Jason, I just went to whoever over at Salon 7 and I NEVER had a bad experiece.
This buisness takes there time to hire qualified, young, hot people that are the best.
Super fun atmosphere: with art, fun magazines, and a cool old firehouse to check out.
Easily the best in Reno.... -

Awesome! Usually Salons offer that caddy and superficial environment and so in my discovery of A salon 7 I was pleased to find an all encompassing attitude. Mai Mai (I hope I spelled her name right) did these crazy dreaded extensions for Burning Man 08 and they kicked ass! Really heavy and hard to deal with but a couple cocktails later and I was just fine :) It took 8 hours to do my whole head (My hair was over two feet long) and during my stay all the other hair stylists and staff were friendly and there wasn't a moment I didn't feel uncomfortable. Thanks again!
I didn't put a price it all depends on what-chya get :) -

If you are looking for the cookie cutter type of salon , where the stylists are working elbow to elbow and the tension between them is oozzing from the walls and no one smiles Do Not Come Here because it is the complete opposite of that decription! When you walk in you are greeted by a smiling receptionist asking how she can help you! She has you sit in the casual waiting area and then goes to let the stylist that you have an appointment with know that you are there. Today one of the clients was having to wait longer that usual and she offered to get her and drink or something, all the lady wanted was some ice so she went right away and got her some ice. I thought that was a nice personal touch ! Today I decided to let Nikki Becker do what she wanted to my hair! It is just a little bit shorter and a little bit more layered. I am very happy with the cut ! Thank you Nikki for not doing this the first time that I went to you! I do not think that I would have been as happy with it then. It would have been too big of a change too soon! I enjoy coming here , by the time my next appointment is here I am always ready to get my hair cut! My hair has gone from the middle of my back with split ends ,thin , flat , dull and lifeless to about shoulder length with more fullness , shine and body! Thank you again Nikki I like my hair now thanks to you! I hope that my review will help someone decide to go to Nikki Becker or to try one of the other stylists at Salon 7. It is a pleasant experiance!

Alright, this place is the bee's knees. Every single person that works there is easy to talk to, completely nonjudgmental, and just as cool as cool can be (without trying, of course). I love this place for so many reasons. The prices are so reasonable and there are so many people that work there, so if one doesn't fit your time or your budget, don't worry! There's someone else. And, there are so many types of people in there it will make your head spin (at least if you're from Reno). While I was sitting there getting my short blond hair highlighted, there were numerous business men that came in for a trim, a girl getting extensions, another chick getting an up-do, and a teeny-bopper getting her first streaks. So, whatever you need you can get it here, for serious. They aren't at this address anymore, but they are still near downtown Reno. Check them out! It'll be worth it.
