Im not a salad eater but their sali's salad is amazing. I live in a good 40 min. drive from this place, but when I get the craving it's worth the drive.

Setup in a mostly empty strip mall next store to the nickelcade. Even though the strip mall was mostly empty, every spot in front of Sali's was full. Good sign.
You order at the counter and they'll bring the food to you. I went with a slice of pepperoni and sausage, hard to go wrong with a classic.
It took a little while for my slice to arrive which is probably a good thing. It seems everything is made fresh. Pizza was good though. Thinner style crust. The meat, cheese, and sauce all had a lot of flavor.
My buddy who comes here all the time says the salad and pasta dishes are the way to go here. So I'll be back and see if that hooks me. -

Great family owned and working environment, wonderful staff. Our table got 1) Baked Ziti with Meatballs -- forgot names of friends' dishes but got to try and they were so bomb delicious! 2) Noodles and Ravioli with Lobster 3) Fettuccine with chicken, mushrooms, green bell peppers. Portions large and affordable $7+ prices.
I know understand why most of the teenagers, college students and 20 year olds like me were waiting for to-go orders. The smoke in the restaurant definitely kills the mood and your appetite to eat. We were out of there pretty fast with our yummy leftovers. It brings in that crowd of customers though so I guess enjoy a legit Italian meal back home. Just add some salt or butter to the bread rolls -- they were soft and warm but plain tasting as other Yelpers commented.
Bottom line: Homemade lovely Italian food. -

I would give them 4 stars, but every time I have ordered from here, it has taken over an hour for the pizza to get to my apartment, and I live 5 minutes from the restaurant. They constantly make up excuses about why they are running late. They do have really good pizza though...

I love this place! I grew up down the street and came here all the time after movies or nickelrama. The owner here was even nice enough to deliver just a single slice of pizza to my house during my pre-driver's license days, kudos to you delivery guy!
The pizza is awesome: thin but not flimsy crust, delicious toppings, gigantic, orderable by the slice, and very cheap. I'm also pretty crazy about their house salad dressing and the delicious rolls.
Deducted a star for the smokey environment, I didn't even know that was still allowed... -

I have this Platonic ideal of pizza that I just can't seem to find. After much contemplation, we tried Sali's last night based on Yelp reviews.
While not THEBESTPIZZAEVER, Sali's served up delicious, traditional slices that reminded both me and my man of our favorite family-owned pizza places (in Dallas and Plano, respectively).
We started with the homemade bread, super seasoned cheese and tomato on a crusty roll...pretty gooey, which generally equals magical for me.
He had pepperoni and black olives, I had pepperoni and jalapenos. Crust is crunchy, but the sauce so many reviewers talked about was not noticeably special.
Service was good, crowd watching was entertaining. Oh, Garland. -

I can not believe I have not rated this place! This has been an all time favorite Italian place of mine since I was a kid. Their food is to die for. Great pizza, awesome salad dressing and the best Stromboli you will find in DFW. Never had a bad meal from this place and reasonably priced. They do have a smoking section so if smoke turns you off you might not want to eat here because it is a small place.

Ok, smokers! Please don't hate me but I don't think you should smoke in a restaurant's main dining area. Not saying you shouldn't smoke at all but at least could you do it at the bar? or if you're sitting in the corner of the restaurant? You know, just to be polite to diners who are a little, kinda really allergic to smoke.
I had no idea Garland still hadn't banned smoking so I was pleasantly surprised when the table behind us started puffing smoke into my hair. If you've ever been to Sali's you know how close the tables are, so having the guy sitting inches behind me smoke meant it was getting all over me and my food. Not fun at all. I didn't order a side of ash with my pizza.
Would have given Sali's a four star but i lost a lot of appetite from that.
If you've never been, it's a little confusing. Do you sit down? Do you order at the counter? What do you do then? Why is the menu so far away? What do all these names of these dishes mean?
I learned you can grab a table and a server will come around soonish with a menu so you don't have to stand awkwardly by the counter waiting for someone to yell at you to take your order.
As for the pizza, it's pretty good. Wouldn't say it's the best ever in the history of ever but it was a good price. The crest was baked a little harder/longer than I would like but that meant it kept better to heat up later (maybe it's just me but I think it was better the second time around).
I would ask for a side of marinara sauce since the pizza was a little dry.
We didn't try anything else but we will definitely have to try the pasta and the delicious looking rolls everyone else was ordering! -

Garland, TX
As far as homestyle pizza goes, this place knows what they're doing. It's a small family owned restaurant and it has existed for as long as I can remember (22 years), so you know they're doing something right. There are a decent amount of seats inside this store, and they have a bar in the back. The decor is lacking, but it's a pizza joint right? I didn't come here for the fru-fru frills and fancy paintings. They do allow smoking indoors which is a great turn off. I don't appreciate smoke when I'm eating unless it's in my BBQ. The price was decent for a large 16 inch 2 topping pizza. I think I paid $14? They could offer bigger sizes, but their large is good enough for 3 small eaters to enjoy.
I am fan of the thin and floppy NY pizzas, and the crust here is a little too thick for my taste. The dough, however is perfectly soft. It had a nice snap to the bite but did not provide a challenge to chew. I usually throw away the crust, but I ended up eating the entire slice from this place. The italian sausage came crumbled. I would prefer it if they had sausage slices on the pizza instead. Despite the crumble texture, the pizza did not feel cheap and was very tasty. The cheese had the right amount of gooey feel on it, and the sauce was not overpowering.
This place is literally in my backyard and I would definitely return for another happy stomach: A- -

I was going for Italian and decided to try out a new place that my coworker recommend. He suggested the Fettucini Chicken and Spinach and so I went with his words. I walked in to the restaurant there was a line of ppl ordering pizza. It was a pretty busy night for them but they seemed to get things going pretty well. I noticed that all the workers looked alike...hmmm possibly family owned? My meal was $8 and it came with a bread. Oh my gosh the food portion was so huge and plus the bread was sooo good. I barely ate my meal bc it was too much.
The fettucini in itself is really creamy so I was craving something spicy! The food wasn't as bad, not the way I expected it to be but it wasn't too great either. If you like creamy italian food then go for it but my next trip would be in the tomato sauce category. -
Review from Peter H.
Sali's is a nice, cozy, family owned restuarant. Slices are of good size and their dishes feel very authentic. The chicken marsala is pretty good, loaded with mushrooms in a marsala wine reduction with tender chicken breast pieces. Food is decently priced. I would go here if i wanted pizza other than from the chain delivery stores.

I used to work at NickelRama, and I craved Sali's specialty slice every day! And every day there was a long line (a good thing!). Them Albanians make a mean NY style pizza. Their pastas are also great.
This is a place I want to introduce to all of my friends because, even though their food is amazing, it's located in an area no one really notices or cares to traverse. The seating was a bit crowded the couple of times I dined in; I usually get my food to go.
I really need to come back here when I'm back in Garland.Listed in: Home Sweet Home, Can I Have Yo Numba?

I should have listened to everyone on here......but oh no I had to be the rebel. I went to Sali's and completely ignored the 95% of people walking out with pizzas and got Sali's Fettuccini and a friend got the meat lasagna. Everything came out hot and cheesy looking, but it took one bite to become furious. I love food so when I order I try to eat as much as possible, just to gain the experience. I try not to be picky but man o man was this stuff disgusting. The alfredo tasted like flour and water ( I should have known because there was no visible seasoning, just a watery white paste), the ham was cubes of deli ham, broccoli was mushy, noodles fell apart after being touched.... must I go on. I put about a cup of salt pepper and Parm on it and.... nothing. As I've said I love food so I will go back to try the pizza, but it won't be for a very, VERY long time.

You know this place means business when you show up on a Tuesday night and its PACKED.
I'm pretty sure this place has been around for a while. I've been going there for about 7 years.. and always enjoy it. I usually get it to go, so not real sure what its like to eat there. But when i do go in, i feel like I'm back at some pizza joint in the north east.
I think the key to good Italian food is the tomato sauce. They have a good tomato sauce. The garlic bread is AMAZING and i cant forget their bottled salad dressing. Yes its that good.
If you hate the generic Italian restaurants that are all over this town then you must try Sali's. -

I guess you could call this place, kind of a dive Italian place. It looks like a dive bar, inside and out, but it's actually a kick ass Italian eatery! They start you out with a simple salad, but if the waitress talks you into the house dressing, it turns into an awesome salad. The best way to describe it, is a marinara vinegrette, and the marinara is WAY heavier than the oil so it just sits atop it, starring at you, saying "you want more of me, you know you do, DUMP ME ALL OVER THAT SALAD!". And you do it, cause Italian salad dressings carry knives. Then comes my Stuffed Shells, 3 huge shells, bursting with creamy ricotta, and dunked in a pool of marinara......It was a masterful display. Those three delicious shells didn't last long, i scarfed'em down and soaked up the creamy remains with the doughy, fluffy garlic bread that came with them.
The pizza and lasagna looked great as well, they even had a dude tossing around some dough like a circus juggler, behind the counter, no frozen pies here holmes. To top it all off, they had us in and out of there in a hurry for you crunhtime lunchers. AND, my meal was under $6. Fuhgetaboutit -

I doubt the other guy that gave 5 stars works at Sali's. It's one of my favorite pizza places too!
"NY Style Pizza" comes in huge slices, and is greasy as HECK. Some people don't care for this and would rather eat bread-y, fake-cheesy chain pizzas. Others adore it!
If a big-ol' slice of grease-dripping pepperoni pizza sounds great to you, you'll love Sali's. If not, I'm sure there's plenty of room for you in the CiCi's buffet queue. -

I grew up in G-town and this shopping center has had its fair share of businesses that have come and gone. My parents used to drop me off at the UA8 theater back in the day to catch the latest flick and once I hit 15, I took my driver's ed. classes at All American Driving School.
Sadly, both of these places no longer live here, but Sali's is one of the few surviving businesses that have managed to stay above water. Why? Probably because they throw down the most AMAZING NY style pizza EVER. Seriously! Greasy with an awesome crust, huge portions, and soft on the wallet this is some of the best no-frills pizza I've every eaten. -

My boyfriend brought a menu home from Sali's a few months ago, knowing how I am on a constant search for delicious, delicious italian and NY style pizza to please my east coast heart, that tastes just like I'm used to from back home. I stupidly ignored it for a few months, thinking it was waaaay further than it was.
Turns out like, literally 3 minutes away, and I am SOOOOOO mad I didn't try Sali's sooner! Forget all that stuff I said about those other pizza places in dallas/garland. I'm pretty sure it was just wishful thinking. This stuff is the real deal!
Wood fired NY style pizza.. perfectly chewy, doughy crust. Their white pizza is outta this world, with a load of fresh mozz and ricotta cheese. I could go for some garlic too, but regardless.. omg that crust. It tastes like home. And a large is 11 bucks. Yes, 11 bucks. Their food is all ridiculously inexpensive... a large easily feeds me and my boyfriend for 2 days. Am I dreaming? After a year in dallas and a year of trying to stave my pizza addiction on fake, buttery pizza hut style crusts, Sali's tastes like straight up heaven.
Oh, and they deliver, with no delivery charge... and its ridiculously fast, and super hot when it gets to you. Can I have some for breakfast please? -

On my neverending quest for the perfect pizza in the DFW area, I happened upon Sali's which is only about 5 miles from home. I wasn't disappointed... it was a nice treat.
I think Pastazio's in Addison Circle has a slightly better crust, Brooklyn's in Allen has a slightly better sauce, but given the price I have to give it to Sali's in the end. Getting a more authentic crust around here would require some good 'ole NYC water, so I have to cut them a break on the crust.
Prices were great, service was fast, and the food was great. The cheese had the same texture that I remember from growing up in NYC, the amount of sauce was perfect, overall a great pie. -

The NY pizza is AWESOME and CHEAP!! Bring friends!! This place is very similar to my local Italian parlor (Tony Pizza and Pasta Bedford, Texas). The food was almost identical, while the surroundings were very unique and family centric. Full service bar was for the late crowd. Not a fan of the smoking section, but what can you say. Also, the family is Albanian, rather than Italian. Wonder if they are related to my local Italian parlor?

great italian food in a little place called garland, tx?
yes, it exists! i've been going to sali's for YEARS -- ever since the wee days of high school way back when [...in 2003? 2004?]
and their pizza has always been delicious. they're really generous with their toppings, and their pasta is very rich and tasty. i really believe it's a family establishment, and i think everyone is just so nice.
i went there yesterday for the first time in two years and they haven't changed it much. they got a new menu sign! plus, people were watching the rangers on tv, which made for a really fun atmosphere! go rangers! ahem, team bias aside...
i love this place. i'm so glad this place exists in humble ole' garland and i hope it's around for YEARS.
plus, it's right next to nickelrama! old school arcade games + pizza's a perfect combination. not to mention i spent copious hours of my childhood between those two establishments. -

Very good! I had the baked zitti. I didn't like that they only have Pepsi products to drink, but hey, I should drink water more often, lol

I love this place the pizza is amazing and the chefs salad is amazing. Sometimes though the service can be a little lax when they are busy and other than that all the food is cooked to order and definantly a place worth checking out.

Yummm, Sali's is great. We used to come here before/after movies back when the UA8 theatre was still around. The slices are huge and delicious. The establishment is not the most upscale, a little bit seedy feeling, but it all adds to the charm.

My family has been eating here for at least 20 years. When my son comes home from college, he wants Sali's. Don't get this confused with the other Sali's on Garland Road. The broke off about 10 yrs ago and its not near as good. This Sali's has the best garlic rolls, omg. and their lasagna is to die for. Pizza is some of the best and the people that work there are nice.

I found this place from reviews on Yelp. Sali's pizza is better than any pizza place that has commercials on television. Sali's special pizza with everything is my choice when I get take out.

When I lived in Garland, this is the place where we always went after school, before a movie, whenever we felt like it. It's super affordable (a slice of pizza and a soda was something like $5), and delicious. The chicken parmesan is amazing! Pieces of seasoned chicken, in a small dish of sauce, COVERED in cheese and baked. Yum! The house dressing is off the chain, too!

Sali's has been around forever, and with good reason, they have awesome pizza. It's really hard to find good pizza in Dallas, let alone good Italian fare. Friendly little neighborhood red sauce joint run by a real family like you find back east. Nothing pretentious about the menu or staff, just a good place to enjoy a meal.

My family has been a fan and frequent customer of Sali's forever! The pizza is great-- big floppy slices. The restaurant is often busy, so it's pretty obvious that Sali's has a large fan-base.
My ONLY complaint is that they allow smoking in the restaurant. It's such a small space, one smoker smells up the place pretty bad, and I'm sensitive to the smell. Other than that, this place is great! -

Garland, TX
Great food. Quick and cheap. Large pizza and pasta menu. Order at the counter. The food is delivered quickly to your table. I have to wonder a little about the layout of the restaurant as an order line usually forms down the isle and you never really have much privacy at your table. You see the local Garland police there pretty often. Those guys know a bargain when they see it! The place could use a remodel, but then it would lose some of it's local charm! Try it...You'll like it!

Review from Ariza S.
Sali's has always been a favorite for me. Not only is the place ultra cozy but the staff here are welcoming and the food is mm mm good not to mention dirt cheap! If I don't want one of their ginormous slices of pizza I will usually opt for Sali's special. This pasta dish includes cut up sausages, thick hearty meatballs and chunky tomato sauce over a generous serving of noodles. It's delicious and only $7. Sali's did raise their prices a few months ago but it's still affordable compared to most places. $5-7 will definitely get you satisfied. The BF loves their warm tasty subs here as they serve the bread really crispy and warm with tons of meat and cheese. I've tried their buffalo wings on my last visit and they were surprisingly tasty as well. I think I have only been disappointed once here and it was the spinach fettuccine which tasted similar to a lean cuisine. Other than that Sali's has always been the place in Garland for some great affordable pizza on a game night. They only have about 2-3 flat screen TVs here but their always tuned in to some sports game that's on. You'll more than likely hear an occasional Yeah! or damn it! from someone whose actually watching but most of the patrons are focused on the gooey goodness on a plate in front of them.
