Tahoe City! You have an all-star in your midst! Salana Hair Salon is relatively new to Tahoe, and it is an absolute GEM. I just left there, after having Lana (the proprietor) lighten my hair, and was immediately compelled to jump onto Yelp and sing her praises. Lana is a pro. She's intuitive, knowledgeable, and works hard to learn what the customer wants. I've been suffering from a serious bout of COVID hair and I've been nervous to head into any salon. But after a few minutes inside Salana, any and all nervousness washed away. They make sure that both their customers and staff are safe.

After chatting with Lana for a bit, I just knew I was in good hands. We've all been there - sitting in the chair, telling our stylist what we're hoping for, only to walk out of the salon feeling underwhelmed. Now think of that situation, flip it, and reverse it. I left Salana today feeling spoiled by my new lightened locks and truthfully - I can't see myself going anywhere else from here on out.

Do yourselves a favor and make an appointment at Salana. It's located on the second floor of the Bechdolt building (up the stairs and to the right). Treat Yo' Self!

My first appointment at this salon a year ago was great. But since then, they have cancelled 3 of my appointments less than 24 hours in advance. One was cancelled 10 minutes prior to my appointment, as I was parking at the Salon. At another appointment the stylist showed up 20 minutes late. They have a strict 24 cancellation policy in which you may be charged up to 100% of the cost of your service if you cancel, yet they do not have reciprocal respect for their clients' time.

If you have a VERY flexible schedule, the actual service is good, but do not count on them to honor your appointment times.

I was thrilled to find such a high end salon right in the heart of Tahoe City. I'm a local and want to support local businesses. Salana is new to town and what a wonderful addition it is! Lana is easy to talk to, professional, and so knowledgeable about color. We had the opportunity to chat backcountry skiing, women in business, and the science of color all throughout my appointment, while she quickly worked fine highlights throughout my hair. She was thorough and attentive to detail and did a fantastic job naturally blending my hair. I appreciate that she took the time to look through some of my photos and hear about my preferences before touching my hair. Highly recommended. I'll be back! Thanks Lana!

Absolutely unfortunate. Bad stylist color faded after a day ! And she will not refund me or even return my emails!

First haircut in well over a year! Lana did an awesome job. Very much appreciated the COVID safe set up they have, one customer at at time in the salon. Will definitely be making Lana my regular go to hairdresser here.

I scheduled a haircut + balayage with Caroline back in May. I didn't HATE the results but I didn't love my hair either. For this appointment, I wanted to trim 1-2 inches of hair, add some layers for texture, and touch up my balayage.

Caroline was very professional/nice and the appointment itself (from when I walked into the salon to when I got my hair dried/styled) was great. Unfortunately, I felt that the layers in my hair were very distinct rather than blended (especially at the back of my head). My balayage highlights turned out more honey/caramel than ashy even after toner was applied. I'd gotten balayage hair color several times before and have always asked for an ashy/cooler blonde.

I recently got my hair cut/colored at a different salon and the results are exactly what I asked for.

Peach is your go to girl for all your sugaring needs!! I have had all my sugaring necessities done by her for years and could not recommend anyone better! If you're looking for a rad lady to help you remove hair in as painless a manner as possible, this is your girl!!! Sugar over wax all day every day. Thank you peach!!!

I have followed Christina loyally thought out the years as she has moved salons! Been going to her for just about 4 years! She does a fantastic job and really listens to her clients. When I first started going to her I was having a really weird issue with my hair where it was dry and crunchy after shower (it looked like I put moose in it) I had a bunch of breakage, with her help we fixed that issue! I usually do a partial or full highlight and cut! Highly recommend my girl!!!!

Lana is awesome! I went in for a cut and color gloss - she was very patient and skilled with thicker hair! I live in San Francisco and Lana is better than others I've gone to. Planning to go back in a few months since she's new my go to.
