Sak's has obtained the "the number #1 restaurant in the world status' from me.

I have eaten there at least 40 times times now as I have become insanely addicted to their "Par Rarm Long Song". I cant put into words how amazingly delicious each ingredient on the dish is. I have tried about 8 or so of their dishes and all have been good. This one is just simply the best dish I have ever had at a restaurant.

They serve their lunch dishes with a delightful and refreshing salad which is made of a simple and fresh mix of lettuce, cucumbers and others, mixed with a ginger dressing that is also so delish. Then you must order one of their fresh spring rolls - which has a rice paper that is always perfectly textured and packed full of fresh veggies, with a dipping sauce that is again delicious.

I talked about this place for over a year to a few friends and finally had the opportunity to take them there today. They walked out of there agreeing with me.

The folks who own and operate the restaurant are so friendly and always accommodating. If you like spice, they operate on a 1-4 scale and if you prefer heat in your Thai dishes, they make their own Thai pepper spice which gets added in for an out-of-this-world experience. It provides just as much flavor as it does heat.

Today, i asked if they would sell me a pint of the Par Rarm (peanut sauce) that goes into the dishes so I could drink it with a straw at home - and he brought me out a large container for a small fee. By straw I mean a thick one to accommodate the perfectly crunched up peanuts.

So sorry I never gave them a 5-star after my first visit.

My good friend Tom, a fellow Yelper who has a favorable review of Sak's, has been talking about this place for years.  Needless to say, my expectations were high.  I love Thai food and having lived in Chicago and Los Angeles I've tried many Thai restaurants.  There were four of us and we were all blown away.  So many flavors.  You can adjust the heat to your preference.  A three you'll sweat a bit and a two you'll crave a little more.

For $6.95 you get a lunch special with chicken, beef $7.95 and that includes soup or salad.  A vegetable roll will cost you $1 more.  The service was great.  Tom loved the peanut sauce so much in his meal, he asked for a pint of it to take home.  He had the #12.  I got the Pad Phet and thought it was delicious.  If you love peanut flavor sauces, you will love this place.  The vegetable roll comes with a great peanut sauce.  The salad also has a nice ginger dressing.

I will be back and I will have every single dish on that menu.

I feel compelled to give this place 5 stars solely based on the service.

I had a massive craving for Thai and found this place on yelp.  The ambiance is a step above your average Thai place found in a strip mall.  Don't be fooled, it's a nice spot.  So after perusing the menu of myriad choices I didn't spot my favorite dish that I always order at my favorite haunt in NYC.

I asked the waiter if he had anything similar to Gra Prow Kai Dow on the menu and he said, "Not really but let me ask the chef if he can make it."
Not only did he make a dish for me not on the menu, it was spicy delicious!  Now that's service.

I visited Saks for lunch recently, after hearing good things from a few colleagues.  I was very surprised to see a sushi menu which the staff was pushing very aggressively.

I chose the green curry lunch special with soup and a thai iced tea.  The soup was a sort of mild wonton soup I believe.  The soup was nothing special but was pretty satisfying on a cold rainy day.  The tea came out promptly but my curry took quite a long time to arrive.

It seemed that our server forgot to put my order in.  At one point she brought out my coworker's pad thai only to come back two minutes later and take the plate away without any intelligible explanation.  She would later tell us that the pad thai was mistakenly prepared with pork instead of chicken and that it would be corrected quickly.  This was very odd considering the meat on the plate was definitely chicken.  15 irritating minutes later we both had our meals.

I really enjoyed my green curry.  The rich and creamy coconut sauce was balanced well with the aromatic basil, lemongrass, ginger and spicy green chilies.  I would preferred a little more chicken and some of my vegetables were a touch al dente.

Rounding out at roughly $10, the lunch special is a pretty good deal.  The service was slow but friendly.  I cannot help but be very skeptical of the recent addition of sushi to the menu.  Pan Asian rarely works out, and if the restaurant has more than one menu that typically means you are in for a very mediocre meal.

Friday at 7 pm party of four. The place was almost completely full. Service was relaxed (could also be described as slow) fifteen minutes to give our order and get our drinks. They appeared to only have two servers for about 24 tables. Understaffed. The food arrived in rather quick succession. Appetizers within five minutes and the entrees within fifteen or so. One person never got her Jasmine Tea. The server could not remember who had ordered which items. The Rice Noodle Soup (Pho) with Seafood was light and tasty and could easy serve as an entree, by portion size, for most people. The Vegetarian Spring Rolls and Chicken Satay were fresh and correctly done but not above average. The Sticky Rice was also freshly made and a nice menu choice as this is not a common item for most Asian menu restaurants. It was good, for those of us who like Sticky Rice. The Phad Thai was very warm (temp), which I appreciate, and not spicy. The sauce, which there was too much of, overwhelmed any flavors of the vegetables or Shrimp. This was a little disappointing, if like me you like Phad Thai to be lighter which a sauce that has a little flavor zing of its own but does not keep you from tasting the herbs and meat and vegetables. This one did. It did have a very bright orange color, but the fluorescent quality of food never overweighs taste for importance. We went here because it was recommended and two of our party wanted to go here, they go here occasionally. I can't recommend it.

Great Thai food - second only to his sister's in Webster! If you're on the eastside go to Sak's you won't be disappointed!

Hmmm... This place is pretty well liked in the area. I went there for lunch and the food was ok. The atmosphere was much nicer than I had expected.

BUT, if you are going to include "Thai Cuisine" in the name of your restaurant, you have no business serving WONTON SOUP as the default soup. Hello? I didn't add their "sriracha" to my dish, but coworkers who did said that it didn't taste right. It was too mild. Uh, a Thai restaurant that doesn't give you real sriracha? If I go back, I'm bringing my own. Heck, I had to argue with the waiter to get my dish prepared at a spicy rating of 4 out of 10. I should have pushed him for an 8. This is Thai food, people. It's supposed to be spicy.

Yes, my "pad prinking" with chicken tasted okay (although a bit oily). The som tum was okay. I might very well eat here again.

There aren't many Thai options in town. If I have the option of going to Henrietta, I'd go to King and I. If not, I'm okay eating here. If I had a craving for Thai food, this would not cut it though. This review would probably be less harsh if they just called this place "Sak's Asian Cuisine".

Saks is my favorite thai restaurant in Rochester. The food is authentic and delicious.  Sometimes they do get busy and the service may be slow at lunch time, but they have a wide menu and the servers are very friendly. The thai food is by far better and less salty in comparison to other thai places in Rochester.

Oh, wow!  I haven't been this impressed with a restaurant for a long time.  Sak's gets everything right, which is no mean feat in the world of Thai cuisine.

The flavors are gorgeous and rich, and the extensive menu offers dishes well beyond the standard fare in addition to the classics.  The food is prepared with skill, quality ingredients, and attention to detail.  The spring rolls have a fantastic mint pop, the Haul Mook Pla (Fish Curry Souffle) received rave reviews from my dining companion, and the Sweet Spicy Green Curry was everything I was hoping for.  It's been so long since food's caught my attention like this....

Sak's decor is just wonderful - can't deny how much that adds to the dining experience.   The visually interesting and completely harmonious dining room - modern elegant casual - makes a very favorable impression.  Definitely nice for dinner, and I can also see this as a perfect venue for a reception.

And the staff complete the picture - very pleasant, accommodating, knowledgeable, and attentive.  They're definitely investing a lot of love into this place.

I came here on a Monday night and, was really impressed. I had the veggie spring rolls, and the green thai curry which was very flavorful, spicy, coconut-ey,and fresh tasting. My one gripe is the amount of rice in proportion to the food (I like to have enough rice to eat the meal on a plate rather than a bowl).

I just had lunch here and was very impressed! The former Thai restaurant in this location was unremarkable and overpriced, but Sak's came in with beautiful renovations and an extensive menu that includes several very affordable lunch entrees. I had the Mussaman curry and my husband had the red curry; both were delicious. The starter, a Thai version of a wonton soup, was fresh, light, and flavorful - not greasy as some wontons tend to be.

The staff was gracious and attentive, the atmosphere was just right, and I would certainly dine here frequently in the future.

Best place in Rochester for Thai food!!  Having lived for two years in Thailand I feel that my expectations are pretty high and I was pleasantly surprised to find them met at Sak's.  Though the chef is from Laos, he does an excellent job with the complexity and detail of Thai cooking and I would highly recommend Sak's to anyone looking for a more traditional Thai food experience.

I went to Sak's Thai Cuisine for lunch today. I enjoyed it, pretty flavorful and certainly a good value. Shrimp Pad Thai along with soup/salad for $9.99 is fair. The Shrimp Pad Thai was tasty, it needed some more spice to be sure. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the bean sprouts and veggies were fresh. A little skimpy on the shrimp, they were pretty small and maybe only about 6 in there, but the overall portion size was generous. The wonton soup was nothing to write home about. The service was prompt and the folks there were pretty friendly. I will definitely return if I am in the mood for Thai and in the fairport area.

Great food. For anyone who goes for dinner, try the curry puffs. But beware some ot the food can be really hot, but the wait staff is knowledgble and if you ask they will tell you the level of heat in the food.

I'm hooked! We tried this, as it's all of five minutes from work, on a whim one day, and it's now a weekly tradition. I've loved nearly everything I've tried, but my absolute favorite has to be the chopped chicken dish. Orders for pickup have usually been prompt (I've occasionally waited 2-3 minutes while they've been tending to in-restaurant diners) and always hot.
