Livermore, CA
I've eaten here at least a few dozen times and it always hits the spot. I've only tried a few items but I have loved all of them. I almost always get the chicken noodle soup (as I do with any pho place) and it's absolutely delicious here. Their broth is very rich and flavourful (not at all watered down like other places) and they give you a good amount of chicken, cilantro, and other mix ins.
The Vietnamese egg rolls boast lots of fresh vegetables and you get a lot for your money. Same goes for the chicken fried rice. It's super yummy and they give you enough to eat for days.
The delivery service is quick and it's free if you spend $20 or more. -

Why do I find myself here at least once a week?? Cause its thats good. Staple is the seafood pho. But the pork chops are really good. The cripsy shrimp appetizer is my kiddos favorite. Everything I've tried is always yummy.
The owner is super friendly and really cares about her customers.
Plus is they are using no MSG!
Love this place!!! -

The pho wasn't terrible, but it didn't taste like the pho elsewhere - had a strong taste of pepper, a spice I associate (more) with Chinese food than Vietnamese. I didn't care for it - but that could be because I really did want pho. Even the sauces on the tables were not those I see at every other pho place.
The proprietors are Chinese, not Vietnamese - you can hear them speaking Chinese.
The coffee was not bad. Service (off hours) was friendly and quick.
Summary: not terrible, but if you specifically have a hankering for pho, this probably shouldn't be your first choice. -

The service was quick! I ordered their Spring Rolls and Vermicelli dish, I've had better in the East Bay.

Here on business this week. Hadn't had Vietnamese food in awhile. This place was great! Here's why this place is awesome: tasty lamb curry pho, ample parking, friendly staff, they take credit cards. Left full...would visit again if in the area.

I used to go to Me and Chai's over at Vasco. One day I was craving for Pho and for some reason Me and Chai's was closed that day. I looked up online if there was another Pho place in Livermore. Found Sai's. LO AND BEHOLD I was not disappointed. I had the Pho and a side of friend spring roll. The spring roll came with a side of lettuce, pickled pieces of carrots and basil.I wasnt sure what to do with the side of veggies and the owner came to my rescue, showed me the "proper" way of eating spring roll *wrap it in lettuce leaves with a bit of basil and pickled carrots* oh god it was sooo good.
Their pho comes in one size only.. LARGE.. I had the beef combination *meat balls, tripe , flank strips* . Meat was tender and the broth was heavenly.
Compared to Me and Chai's , this place was more cozy and "homie" . The servers are more friendly and has that personal touch with their service. Coming here is like having lunch or dinner at my mom's place. Now I come here at least 3 times a week. -

I usually have the prawn bun - delicious!!! The staff are very friendly and always remember me when I go there. I have taken family and friends there and they have nothing but good to say about the food.

You call this pho?!?! I call this crap in a bowl.
Was on my way back from Tahoe, starving to death, tired and desperate for pho. This place was right off the freeway so I figured, why not, based on the Yelp reviews. Wow did Yelp ever steer me wrong!!!
Their pho, if you can even call it pho, had the worst broth I have EVER had. In my entire pho eating lifetime. I don't think they even used beef leg/knuckle bones for the broth. It tasted like they used a single beef bouillon for a gallon of water. There was barely any flavor and whatever flavor there was, was gross. Meat was rock hard and dry, tendon was flavorless. Um this should have been simmered into a soft, buttery, sweet, squishy delight. Instead I got tiny, hard, chewy pieces of plastic. Srirachi, salt, pepper, cilantro, Thai basil, lime, NOTHING was able to save this broth.
If you want pho, avoid this place. I would have rather gone home and eaten an instant ramen.
Sidenote: It was so bad, the BF and I were literally angry at ourselves for eating and were complaining about it and seething for the remainder of the drive home.Listed in: PHO-CK YEAH!

I have been wanting to try this place for awhile and my husband and I were craving Chinese food and gave this place a try. SOOOO delish! best we have had in forever. We ordered orange chicken (all white meat which was great and not a bunch of fat chunks) , mongolian beef (very very tasty) , imperial rolls and bbq pork chow mein. It was so satisfyng and everything was full of flavor. Not to mention the friendly staff. We will be we going back for sure.

This is my first choice for dining out, either with my entire family or with co-workers.
The food is fresh and delicious. The choice is abundant, including Vietnamese and Chinese. I am big fan of their almost genuine Chinese dishes.
The price is very competitive or cheap.
The only downside is that you may have to wait for quite a while for the food to come during busy time. That is why I give it 4 instead of 5 stars.
Highly recommended! -

one of the 3 places in Livermore to get pho. I would probably rank their pho worst of the 3. Very watered down, no taste. Should have known, when a place that sells Pho, also sells Chinese and Thai dishes, this means that their Pho is not good.
On the good side: price is cheaper, and their Chinese dishes (never tried them) looked ok and has a wide range to choose from. I will never go back for Pho, but maybe to try their other dishes. -

Me & my 2 friend decided to try out this place because they had really good reviews, but sadly I was very disappointed when our food came out. We ordered 2 pork chop with rice and a vermicelli dish. The meat had no taste what so ever, & the lemonade tasted more like water.
I was going to order the pho to try it, but I realized if I did, it'd be too hot because they did not turn on the AC. The waiter said on her own table watching tv the whole entire time. So every time I needed something I'd have to run up there.
By the way, what type of vietnamese restaurant, with no one but chinese people. I kind of think it's more of a chinese then vietnamese.... -

Recently moved to Livermore and needed inexpensive and decent places to eat on nights when I don't want to cook... This place immediately became one! Not only is their food not bad, they are actually way better than many Vietnamese/Pho places I've been to all over East Bay.
We normally order the house deluxe rice plate and a combination noodle soup. They both come in a decent portion at a great price. The rice plate is great; it comes with meat, rice, salad and fried egg rolls, and it's only eight bucks!
Their service is excellent. The first time we were there, we waited a long time for our food because they were working on a large to-go order. The waitress apologized several times and she actually gave us a 10% discount without us even asking. So, five stars for their food, price, service AND location (because it is close to home)! -

I know I keep giving most of my restaurant reviews at least 4 stars, but the truth is I try to only review my positive experiences. That being said, Sai's remains towards the top of my experience list.
Great service, great prices, great pho.
Wonderful place to enjoy a quick, fresh, healthy lunch (or dinner) with my momma. :) -

Nice employees and fast delivery. Decided to give this place a shot on a Friday night (did not want to brave the drive to Dublin on the 580 during commute rush hour). Ordered the spring rolls and 2 rice plates. The grilled chicken was just OK (edible) but the grilled pork was NOT good, not good at all.... Even after dipping large amounts of sauce on it, there was still a funky taste, I don't know if it was the seasoning or because it was old??? Can't put my finger on it. The jury is still out on that one...
The spring rolls were fine but contained a lot more cilantro than I like but all I had to do was pick it out.
Bottom line: friendly service & great delivery time. Will I be coming back to try the pho? Maybe....or maybe not. -

Talk about a lazy long weekend well it was one of those weekends I felt like doing nothing so I ate out all weekend long and even got food delivered. Yesterdays dinner was from Sai T's I am still on the quest to find a good Mongolian Beef dish in the tri valley area. This food was not very good at all.

The only decent restaurant in Springtown Livermore. The food is delicious, the service is great, and the prices are very affordable! This is a family run business and everyone working here will go extra miles to make you happy.
Very friendly and pleasant atmosphere on sight or over the phone.
It is a time saver too. Order online, choose pick up or delivery and enjoy! -

Been to this place a few times and have actually ordered for delivery about 4 times now and they are always very quick on the delivery and it's free if you order over $20 worth of food which is easy to do! The food is fresh and tastes really good. They always call to double check about no MSG in my order request since I am allergic, I really appreciate that.

I have not tried the pho but the pork chops, orange chicken, empirical rolls, ginger chicken, lemongrass chicken are all good. Not the best, but good. If the ginger, lemon, and basil were stronger tasting in the dishes, that would help. The tastes are mild. Good enough for repeat visits.

Ordered food to go last night after a long day at work. It was my first time at this place. Thanks to my fellow yelpers I got some some great recommendations. Thanks guys!
I ordered:
the special fried chicken, you know I love my fried chickens, and it came with a yummy salad with dipping sauce.
fresh spring rolls....not bad the sauce can be better.
fried eggrolls were very good, not greasy and made fresh, I know my eggrolls.
the combo plate...shite!!!! A lot of food for $8 bucks.
the singapore noodle..very yummy.
Some of the foods were good but the service and the smile from the lady that worked there was worth the four stars. And I will be back to try more foods. That is a promise!
So if you are sick of Saigon Cafe and Me & Cha's try Sai's. -

Beverly T. was right! Pho was not good at all.
I was trying to be optimistic about this Vietnamese restaurant because I love Pho and it's so close to my house.
I'm from San Jose and have eaten at great hole in the wall Vietnamese Restaurants. I'm use to prime time Vietnamese food....and quick service!
I got my Pho to-go and as soon as I opened the broth container....the smell was gross. Even when I doctored up the broth...i couldn't take more than 2 bites, plus the rare steak was room temp which made me nervous. The Pho broth had no flavor...bland..bland..bland..
Good think I had ordered Shrimp spring rolls, which were delicious, but REALLY?? how could you mess up those.
I thought this place was pricey for Pho and Spring rolls...14 bucks! That is not what I'm use to...Pricey & Not Good...yikes!
Sorry Sai's...gave you a chance...not going back. -

The pho and bun are both excellent. Their shrimp spring rolls are worth it, although I've had better. Service is great if you don't come when they are super busy; the place can get crowded at lunch hour.
Don't be afraid to order take-out. I once called in before they were open and they took my order and had it ready for me when I got there as they were unlocking the door. -

This is my favorite place to lunch in Livermore. The food is always delicious and my water glass is always full. I highly recommend the Green, Purple and White (green beans, eggplant and tofu) and the Sizzling Beef!

Review from Bobby l.
I think this is actually one of the better Vietnamese/Chinese restaurants in Livermore.
No, I wouldn't recommend coming here for Pho, BUT I would recommend coming here for the other things such as fried rice, basil shrimp, Singapore noodles, and the other Chinese/Vietnamese dishes they offer.
My coworkers been here a dozen times likes pretty much everything (except the pho). They are pretty generous with the serving sizes so if you don't want to overeat, take the rest to go.
I had the Singapore noodles, and thought they were decent. Never having tried it before, I would compare it to chow mien but with smaller noodles.
They also have some (I believe) vegetarian ok food such as stir fried vegetables and others.
Overall, the place is decent in a somewhat hard to see plaza, but I would recommend this to others. -

Hell
+1 Never noisy or packed, easy parking
+1 Good service
+1 Excellent food
+1 Ultra reasonable prices
+1 Clean
It's too bad this place isn't in a more recognizable location because I guarantee you they would be making a killing.
I recommend the combo platters in the winter, and any type of vietnamese bun if it's hot outside. Everyone likes buns. I know I do. -

Was surprised to hear about the existence of Vietnamese food in Livermore so my coworkers and I tried out Sai's for our weekly Friday lunches.
The food is pretty good but not San Jose Vietnamese good. I got the feeling they were catering to their neighborhood, which is fine. The fried egg rolls were good, but slightly overcooked and a little small. The fresh spring rolls were really good. I've had bun the two times I've been there and it was really good, and my friend's grilled dishes looked great. Will have to go back and try the pho later, but there isn't much selection since this isn't really a pho restaurant.Listed in: Livermore Lunch List, Noodle Time

Livermore, CA
This place is pretty good. Been here a few times since it opened, including twice recently. I would maybe give it four stars, but Vietnamese food just isn't my fave. I like it, but I don't love it, so therefore, three stars.
The atmosphere is very casual, but clean and nice enough. Not super cozy or anything, but still comfortable. Service is nice and friendly, though they usually have a small staff so sometimes it's a little slow, but not agonizingly so. Prices are decent, and the menu is fairly varied. They give you hot tea (I think for no extra charge).
Food is good. I really enjoyed the crispy shrimp appetizer that you eat lettuce-wrap style. I ate three (three pieces, not three appetizers)! Mmm. The seafood pho is pretty good too. Once again, just hard for me to get excited about it. But it's solid. I've tried the green, purple and white before, which is green beans, eggplant and tofu. It is quite good, but it's almost too much eggplant for me. But that's just personal preference (obviously the name implies eggplant will make up 1/3 of the dish). A little bit of eggplant goes a long way for me.
Anyway, I'm usually not the one to suggest this place when we're eating out (probably because I do really like the lemon grass tofu at the Vietnamese place on 2nd St. and tend to prefer it, and it's closer to our end of town). But I'm not opposed to coming here, and do find meals enjoyable. -

The food here is pretty darn good. We've ordered from them a number of times for delivery and the food has always been hot and yummy. We've ordered both vietnamese and chinese dishes from them and been pleased. Really like the tofu curry and also the fried rice is really unique with a nice lemongrass (?) flavor to it.
Very solid food and the owners/employees are always very nice. -

Sai's T. Vietnamese Cafe get's my vote for the best Asian resturant in the Tri-Valley...Hands down.
From the Shrimp Toast, to the Spring rolls, to the Orange Chicken, to the Grilled pork chop rice plate, Basil chicken rice plate, Beef noodle soups, Shrimp fried rice and finally their only dessert: Fried Banana w/Ice Cream...all the while watching the French press slowly brew your Cafe sua Da... The place serves good food, no other way to put it. Try going here around lunch time and the sole empty chair, maybe 2 if you're lucky, speaks for itself. What do you do if you can't get a seat? Don't worry, they deliver...no pun intended. -

Livermore, CA
Co-workers love this place. Me, not so much.
Yes, you get a heaping boatload of food for $8. But when you get right down to the nitty gritty of standard pho, this place ain't cuttin' it. The broth just plain isn't enticing, and the meat tends to be tendon-y and fatty. If you're going for one of those combo plates, I can't honestly tell you everything that's on it, but it's not bad. The chicken also can be fatty. Stay away from the curry chicken, as you can find much better at Me & Cha's off Vasco.
Lunch is pretty crowded here, while dinner can be iffy. It's never completely empty though. Obviously, these people have not discovered Saigon Cafe or Me & Cha's!
I've tried this place 4 times now, for both lunch and dinner, and I have to say that I'm alright if this place closed. Just not the spot for a Vietnamese food fix. -

Wow! If this is what vietnemese food is about, then I don't like it, for the most part!
1 star for the nice waiter.
1/2 star for clay pot chicken even if it was a bit rubbery and dry at the same time?
Chix chow mein- swinging in grease...
Imperial rolls- greasy with chucks of grisle..
Shrimp- outta the box and overly fried
Hot and sour soup with PINEAPPLE in it! Yikes!
Waste of $20. smackaroos...Upset stomach ,Rolaids? -

I really enjoy the food here. My family and I come here about twice a month. I don't eat meat, so it's nice to have a few selections here that I can choose from. A few of my favorites are the Vegetable Spring Rolls, Green Purple, and White (string beans, eggplant, and tofu), MIx Vegetables and Tofu with Curry Sauce, and the Tofu with Three Kinds of Mushrooms. My food has always been hot and fresh even during the times that we have ordered delivery.
The shopping center the restaurant is located in is always quiet, the prices are great, and the service is always friendly. This has become one of our regular places to eat at. -

Hands down, 5 stars for Sai's. I love pho and I LOVE this restaurant!! There is absolutely nothing wrong with this place. Food is off the hook, service is great, always clean, price is right, parking is never a problem and you never have to wait to be seated. I always go here whenever I want a nice bowl of pho or some yummy viet food. Best viet spot in Livermore for sure. You should def check it out!

This is a family owned restaurant and everyone is very friendly. I love this place. I come here about twice a month. It never gets too crowded so we always get seated right away. I normally always order pho #10.. but their grilled prawns #35 has amazing seasoning. You definitely need to check this place out.

Livermore, CA
So disappointed with this place. It used to be good but it has gone downhill since. Yeah the owners are nice but the food is lousy. The crispy noodles is cheap quality (not the HK style chinese crispy noodles kind) and the toppings...pineapple, green pepper and tomato?!!!! That's not even chinese (nor Vientnamese)! There are some shrimp and few pieces of chicken and small corn thrown in but it's bad. The combo plate had dried grilled beef (not juicy), the imperial rolls have very little meat, the crispy shrimp is big but the shrimp inside is not fresh. So disappointed!

Sai's is one of the best Vietnamese restaurant we've ever ate... Not only that we know the owner and the service was also good. So far we've try most of there famous dishes and never got disappointed yet. The place is kind off hard to find for first timer but you will never wait for parking and service. They are so friendly and nice that you can pretty much order what you want and how you want it even if it's not in the menu. So try Sai's now and I guaranty 100% that you wont get disappointed.

This is not even close to call Vietnamese food or even fusion. How can you expect much if no one running the restaurant is Vietnamese? It is like trying to serve Sushi by someone who only knows to make egg roll or burrito. As a Vietnamese, this is the worst food I ever ate because I was fool by these anonymous rating 4-star.

Update Jun 2010 - Still the best Vietnamese Restaurant in the bay area!
Update Feb 2009 - The house special rice place is excellent. Great variety, including the fried egg, tasty hot-sour soup. We had to wait ~5 min to sit down, and the two serving were HUSTLING AND friendly/helpful. The best Vietnamese food (taste, service, portions)in the Tri-Valley.
Just came from another great lunch! Some Chinese dishes have been added and look interesting. Grill Chicken Vietnamese BBQ is excellent!
One of our favorite Vietnamese Restaurant's in the Tri-Valley. Excellent flavoring, generous servings.
Bun is excellent.
I usually go for lunch, but dinner is good here too.
The owner had some very interesting stories about his escape from Vietnam as a boy.
