Located in the back of this antique store called "Noun", this Saint Cupcakes location has no bakery and holds only a limited supply for sale. So pretty much what is in the cute display counter is all they have-which is not much.

I was fortunate to come here after my breakfast and bought one of the regular-size "Elvis" cupcake for $2.50 and a dot-size Coconut Cream mini cupcake. The "Elvis"Cupcake is a banana flavor cupcake with a chocolate-chip interior and a chocolate frosting with a banana chip on top. The coconut cream is just a cupcake with a sprinkle of coconut flakes and a cream topping. Being early in the morning, the cupcakes were really moist and fresh. Obviously, if I would've waited later in the day, the cupcakes would not be as good.

Just a pair of cupcakes that is nothing to brag about!

Gently remove paper.  Rip off cake bottom.  Flip cake bottom onto top so that the frosting is now the filling.  *That's* how to eat a cupcake.

Saint Cupcake makes them moist with just the right amount of density.  My favorite is anything with the fudge topping - vanilla, chocolate, I don't care.  Apparently the fudge topping cupcakes are only available Thursday, Friday, Saturday, so I try to make any time I visit one of those days.

They're pricey.  But wow what a tasty treat.

Booorrrring.
Tastes like something you can get from the bakery at Fred Meyer.

The flavor choices were:
Chocolate.
Vanilla.
Carrot.
Coconut.
ZzzzZzzz....

At least Cupcake Jones shakes it up a bit.

Going for 2 of the itty bitty cupcakes was a good call, for variety's sake. And yes they were delicious.

But jesus christ, the woman working there was as rude as could be. How hard is your job, lady? I point to cupcake, you hand over cupcake. She also took it upon herself to ring up all 3 of us together (annoying...not what we asked for), and ignored our politeness AND tipping without even a word. I wanted to smash a cupcake in her face. I might go back if I see someone else behind the counter. Might.

I wanted to check out a cupcake place in Portland, so I found this one through Yelp. When we first entered the store, it appeared to be of more an antique store than a bakery. You have to go all the way to the back of the store to purchase your cupcakes. They don't have any tables to sit at, so you have to take your cupcakes to go, which was fine by me since we were planning to have a late lunch somewhere else.

A regular cupcake is $2.50 each and a mini cupcake costs $1.25 each. Fortunately for us, they were having a buy one, get one free deal. SCORE! I ordered a red velvet and a big top, a vanilla cupcake with chocolate chips at the top with vanilla cream cheese frosting. The color of the frosting varies from day to day based on the mood of the baker. The frosting was green today. Out of the two, my fave was the red velvet. Each bite was heaven. I thought the cupcakes were very good and moist, but they were a bit small. However, I had others the same size for $3.50 before, so they are a bit cheaper.

Three and a half stars from me!

I'm far from a connoisseur, but I like my sweets.

Let's see.. I had a big top, a coconut and I would have had more if I had the room. Both were moist, and tasty.

Perhaps what I loved best about Saint, was the fact that they serve up the minis. For an indecisive gal like me the small bite sized treats allow me to satisfy schizophrenic tastebuds.

Cute packaging that hold the little buddies in place, makes Saint cupcakes the perfect little gift.

I know that Saint Cupcake borders on religion in Portland.  The name alone is Pavlovian, say it and people start drooling all over themselves.  Kudos to Saint Cupcake for winning over a tough crowd!

But...

I honestly don't get the hype.  The cupcakes are good, they really are but  I was expecting so much more.  I'm not sure what more on a cupcake looks like but I know I wanted it to be the greatest cupcake experience of all time.  Maybe I was mad because when I bit in, there were no fireworks, no choir or angels sang out, "Coo-oo-coo-nuuut Frooo-ooossst-iiiing" like I expected.

The cupcakes are tasty and the minis are fun and super cute.  I recommend everyone check out the snacky cakes there and, just so we're clear, I will never say no to having one should someone show up and try to bribe me into loving the Church O'Cupcake.  Mad respect, I just can't convert yet.

I came here to buy 12 vegan cupcakes for someone at my work who cannot  eat dairy.
I parked on the street at 9:40am, in front of Zupans, looking like a stalker/wannabee detective. (chain smoking, drinking coffee) hoping this place opens on time.
They did, I went in and was helped by a very nice lady, and watched the other lady put up with a very demanding 80 year old german lady.
Ate my cupcake with lunch, it was good! Not I'm going to die right now from bliss good, but good.  Cute box too.
I prefer Sweet Life in Eugene, but 2 hours away is a little far.

Oooo cupcake cupcake cupcake!  A cute little mini cake just for lil' ol' moi?  Yay!  Which to choose?  Whichwhichwhich?  The classic red velvet cake with tangy mouthwatering cream cheese frosting?  A lilliputian German chocolate cake with decadent coconut-pecan frosting?  Waaaaah.  The deceptively simple yellow cake with chooocolate frosting & rainbow sprinkles?  The I-can't-believe-there's-no-butter vegan carrot cupcake?  All these adorable baked goods lined up at attention, staring at me with their puppy eyes through the display case saying, "Pick me!  No, me!  Me-me-me!!"

After escorting my little pink treasure chest home, opening the lid with due ceremony, & reverently peeling the paper wrapper off I bit into the tangy cream cheese frosting down to the red velvet cake.  Huh.  The frosting's really good, just the right ratio of cream cheese to butter to sugar.  [lick.]  The moist, luscious red velvet cake I've been salivating over however just wasn't there.  It was rather dry & tasteless.

Love the cute little shop within a shop surrounded by quirky nostalgic tchotchkes from the greater Noun: A person's place for things showroom.  Very friendly & helpful staff.  Lovely presentation of the adorable cupcakes from display case to pink cupcake box.  And offering 2 cupcake sizes (2-3 bite Dots vs the Regular) is genius.  Sigh.  I really wanted to like this much better than I actually did to fill that Trophy Cupcakes void since moving to PDX but it's not meant to be (if you're ever in Wallingford Center out & about in Sea-town, go in & go wild!).  Unless...they read the recurring theme & tweak their cake recipes/baking time.  [winkwink.  nudgenudge.]

Ok, not to sound like a snob or anything, but I consider myself somewhat of a cupcake connoisseur. After the gourmet, designer cupcakes blew up in DC, let's just say I have had my fair share of cupcakes (understatement).

So, after a late start to the day, I headed out to do some shopping, and found this place along the way. My friends have told me about it, and being as excited as I was, I didn't want to wait any longer. I stopped in, breezing past the cute little store, and went straight for the counter.  After being told that they didn't have any Red Velvet cupcakes that day, I settled on the coconut and pumpkin spice. Both were good, but I didn't get that rush that I normally get when biting into a perfectly portioned piece of heaven. The size left something to be desired and the cake was a tad on the dry side. Maybe I had gotten a stale one. *shrug*

I would still go back. I still need to try the red velvet cupcake.

Guess what's better than a Saint Cupcake cupcake?  The vegan ones!  I know, crazy, right?  Who'da thunk it?!  If I'm wasting calories on cake instead of alcohol, it had better be animal-fat laden, right?

I have not actually been to a St Cupcake retail spot (though I've heard it's darling...) but we have had dozens and dozens at the office to celebrate birthdays, and today I lucked out on a german chocolate vegan cupcake that I must admit was way better than the butter/egg varieties that I have tried before.  Maybe that should be their schtick...

In any event, cupcakes are adorable and festive.  Coupla years ago- whimsical retro treat.  Today, becoming ubiquitous.  But Saint Cupcake seems to know their cakey biz and it's a good treat.  Not only was each tiny cake darling, but decorated sparingly yet well, and the cake I had today was the absolute perfect texture.  Feb 27 is officially Saint Cupcake Day, and I'm lighting the prayer candles now.

Saint Cupcake makes, without a doubt, the best cupcakes I've ever tasted! They are moist and flavorful and the frostings just can't be beat! I'm not normally a person who likes frosting, so that means a lot! I love that you can get the mini cupcakes because I am typically overwhelmed by all the choices so I like to get several small ones instead of the regular sized ones. The coconut one is my favorite but I have honestly never tried one that I didn't like. The boxes are also really cute and I love that they hold the cupcakes in place so they don't fall over on the way home.

The antique store in the front is neat (assuming you like that kind of thing) so it's fun to look around, too. Be sure to come early in the day for a good selection because if you wait until closer to closing time, you might be left with very few choices! Sure they're not exactly cheap, but I think they're worth every penny!

Birthdays are a big thing in my family.  NOt like they are big over the top productions, but when it's your birthday, the fam gets together and you get to pick where you want to go to dinner and what kind of cake you want.

Now, as we've all gotten older in my family, we've come to realize that it is really my mother that loves the cake in my family.  We kids will always say that it's fine, we don't need a cake, let's just go out to dinner.

My bro this year decided that we would do cupcakes.  I chose Saint Cupcake because of the great yelp reviews, I was not disappointed.  I was greeted by the counter gal who was more then happy to tell me about all of the flavors of the day.  I needed 7 total so I went for the sampler and she ended up giving me an extra one for free!  Now that's what I'm talking about.  Free cupcakes will make any rainy Portland day better.

I wish I could remember the names of all of the cupcakes, but all of them were hits.  The cream cheese frosting was prefect, the chocolate and the vanilla, as well as the other flavors were perfectly moist and just as a cupcake should be.  I wish I could make cupcakes like these (why waistline does not).

Great little store in SE Portland, even my mom was happy with the choice.

I've been a resident of this fine city for a little over 4 years. And in those 4 years, as soon as I knew such a place existed (they sell cupcakes and ONLY CUPCAKES WHAT?!), I've yearned to try Saint Cupcake. For whatever reason, that day had never come. Until today, that is.

I know there is a location in NW, that I've been tempted to try on occasion when nearby, but I was driving down Belmont and I just knew that I had to have them. Especially since I knew they'd have Red Velvets today. I ordered 4 pairs of cupcake bites, they came in that cute pink little box, and I NOM NOM'd my half all down this afternoon. Would NOM again for sure. That had to be the best Red Velvet cupcake I've ever had, and the cream cheese frosting was boss. Also tried the vanilla buttercream, hot fudge, and vanilla cake w/ chocolate butter cream.

I almost wanted to stretch the cupcake value and pop some day-olds in there. But I was restrained. Maybe next time!

You may find me in a pile of cupcakes, but unfortunately they won't be Saint Cupcakes...

I have heard so much about this place, I grew obsessed w/ trying it day by day.

Finding myself bored on a beautifully sunny Sunday, I headed to Belmont to explore & peek into Noun/St Cupcake. Combining an ultra cute store w/ an ultra cute bakery. Really can't deny that's ultra cute squared.

The girl at the counter was really sweet & dealt with my "I dunno, you choose for me" pretty well. It was about 4pm on Sunday, so she gave me the dots at buy one get one free. I got vanilla w/ cream cheese, choc w/ cream cheese, vanilla choc toffee, vanilla w/ pistachip buttercream, toasted coconut cream, and pumpkin.

The whole thing was packaged in the cutest cupcake box I've seen thus far (which is a lot). I overheard that if you bring the box back for a refill, you'll get a cupcake for free. I munched on the pumpkin right away because it couldn't fit in the box. It was tender & delish. The cream cheese frosting was gooey.

All the other flavors, however, were disappointing. All the vanilla cupcakes were buttery, but pretty boring & dry. The buttercream is more of the light fluffy (like Kara's cupcakes in SF) rather than the sugar rush thick (Sprinkles in LA). The flavors didn't shine. I didn't taste any pistachio in the pistachio buttercream. The chocolate cupcake was actually pretty good, but not cravable.

Saint Cupcake may love me, but I'm afraid it's unrequited.

After reading several reviews of this place on yelp I decided to trek on down to the Belmont street location to see what all the fuss is about.

I have to say I was left very disappointed.  While the chocolate buttercream icing on my cupcake was pretty tasty, the actual cupcake itself was dry and not very flavorful.  I may enjoy frosting on a cupcake, but it does not make up for a decidedly lackluster "treat".

Speaking of lackluster..i wasn't wowed by the service either.

Maybe i shouldn't make such badass cupcakes in my kitchen at home, then maybe i'd be more easily impressed.

Also, this location accepts credit cards with minimum purchase of $5...which is the cost of 2 cupcakes.  I could make 2 dozen at home for that price, and next time, i will.

Cupcakes are just really cool.  Really, really cool.  Two sizes of cupcakes?  Even more cool.  Saint Cupcake rotates their flavors both by the day and the season, so any day of the week/any time of the season you are likely to run into several one-of-a-kind creations.

The chai cupcakes are so original and flavorful! The big top cupcakes (I think they are made for children...meh) are super fun!  Coming from a hardcore carnivore, the vegan cupcakes are worth giving up bacon for.

All the better, while you enjoy your sweet delights you have the pleasure of walking around one of Belmont's hippest boutiques while carrying around an adorable box filled with many exciting possibilities (as far as cupcakes go, that is).

Saint Cupcake gets 1.5 stars for their cuteness alone.  Cute storefront (located in Noun) and cute boxes.  Plus they had BOGO on the day olds!  Bonus...or not...keep reading.

Their cupcakes weren't much to write home about though.  I got two day olds (vanilla with buttercream frosting and chocolate w buttercream frosting) and Bf got a mini toffee cupcake.  His cupcake was meh - the frosting was an odd consistency - sort of toothpastey.  My choc cupcake was ok - I could have purchased the same at Vons or Ralphs and the vanilla one was just plain awful - how do you screw up vanilla?!?  The frosting was just too fake buttery tasting.  Grody!

I had high hopes but alas, Portland isn't the cupcake capital (a dime a dozen nowadays) I was hoping for.

Why am I the best brother in the world? Because I buy my sister Saint Cupcake treats for every occasion.

It's very convenient having a location on my side of the river, but a lack of parking and seating really bumps it down a star. I guess selling cupcakes at an auxiliary location can't pay the rent for a place of their own. Who'd-a-thunk-it?

As a bonus, there was a cutie-patootie behind the counter, who was just as sweet as the buttercream frosting, and she could easily beat Betty Crocker in a beauty pageant.

My cupcake quest continues.
I stopped off at St. Cupcake on my way to get my hair done. I was hoping/praying while driving that I'd find a spot to park and able to just run in real quick. That I did. I wasn't warmly greeted, in fact the guy behind the counter seemed annoyed. I picked out 6 cupcakes and I was on my way. All in all, I wasn't impressed. I do actually prefer cupcakes/cake that isn't super sweet and sugary. St. Cupcake barely tasted like anything. The frosting really wasn't that tasty either. I prefer cupcake jones.

I am not sure why there are three listings for this location, I just randomly picked one of them!  LOL!

Cute little cupcake place, it is in the back of this little antique shop, very cool.  I loved how they have a wide variety of mini cupcakes, and they were so cheap!  We got four different mini ones, pumpkin, toffee, coconut, and pistachio.  All of them were good but the pumpkin one was by far the best.  It was delicious, the frosting had a strong cream cheese taste to it with a hint of pumpkin in it.  Loved it.  Paul really loved the toffee one, he thought that one was the best one.  The coconut frosting was really great, I loved that!  Very strong flavor.

The only one that I wasn't impressed with was the pistachio one, that flavor was really weak.  Overall, four solid stars!  I am sure I will be back once I live in Portland!  Hurray for mini cupcakes that are just a couple dollars!

Yummy cupcakes.  Cupcakey goodness.  The cupcake itself is ok, it's a cupcake, whatever.  It's the FROSTING that is so good!  We tried a few kinds and enjoyed them all.   Getting the dots is great, you can try lots of kinds and not feel like you are eating too much.  I also got a day old and it didn't seem any different than the "fresh" cupcakes.  It's not cheap but it's a fun tasty occasional treat.

The downers:  No where to sit, sad for us because it was so cold and raining, we ate our cupcakes in the car.
The fancy shmancy packaging is cute but wasteful and jacks up the price.  I did find it funny that the package says on the bottom, "If you can read this your cupcakes are upside-down."

Edited that I went back and I must upgrade (downgrade) my review from 4 stars to 3 stars.

Maybe today was just an off day, but I got 2 dots, a dot for my friend and I, and then 2 more dots and 2 full sizes to take home.  I got a buttercream frosted something and it was awful, waxy tasting and not good.  All the cupcakes were dry.  My husband really disliked the red velvet, said it was like eating sand.  The frosting on the toasted coconut was really good, but I just wasn't impresed as I was the first time I went to Saint Cupcake.

I did notice the minimum charge of 5 dollars sign, posted twice, one right below the other.  Per a Yelp poster that isn't legal, but I was too chicken to say anything, I just bought 7 bucks of cupcakes.

Saint Cupcake carved out a small piece of my heart after they opened up their cute and scrumptious Northwest location, so I thought I might faint when I heard they were opening up an east side version right in my neighborhood.

But alas, the Belmont location is a whole new beast and there's nowhere to sit and enjoy your cake.  Plus, you pay a pretty penny for perfect packaging, so count on picking up some day-olds.

Still a great sweet treat, but I'd rather venture out of the neighborhood up to Northwest.

So basically the one downside to bakery cupcakes is that cream cheese frosting never really tastes...cream cheesy- you know because it needs to have a shelf life.
Well, apparantly Saint Cupcake did not get that memo, and their cream cheese frosting is AWESOME, it tastes like your mom's or your grandmother's cream cheese frosting. Its DELICIOUS.
I got the chocolate cupcake with cream cheese icing and the toasted coconut cupcake, thinking that I would eat one when I got home and eat one after dinner. I ate them both within 3 minutes of getting home, mad at myself that I didn't buy more.
They're reasonably priced, and if you get a few, they put them in the cutest cupcake container ever, and it keeps them from getting messed up on your drive home.
After writing this review, I realized that now all I want is a cupcake so I'm going to go get some more right now.

Prefer cupcakes on own, not in a box

I think that less is definitely more when it comes to Saint Cupcake Belmont.

The Belmont store is a branch-off to its popular shop in northwest. Instead of picking out cupcakes from a case, the store offers cupcake combos in various amounts. The cupcakes come in specially designed boxed to product them in travel.

It's a cute idea for parties or special occasions, but they don't come cheap. Just one in a cute box is $3, which I'd gladly pay for a little pick-me-up gift for a friend. But then the prices jump up to six cupcakes for $14 and a dozen for $26. I can think of some better gifts for that kind of money.

I do give them kudos for their combo names, such as "Paging Doctor Cupcake" and "Dames Don't Care. They are catchy and even offer you a reason why to get them.

The fun and orginilaty of Saint Cupcake is going in and picking out whatever you want from the case. I'm willing to pay $2 for a cupcake when I'm spurlging on a treat but not for a whole box.

Tip: Order the BFF, which is a combo of vanilla/cream cheese, chocolate/cream cheese and coconut. I'd get it because they're my three favortie flavors, and because I can think of several close friends who would love the idea AND the cupcakes.

Its all about the frosting here. The chocolate cupcake was moist deliciousness, but the cake of the others I tried did not hit the home run for me. It was the frosting. Particularly on the banana cupcake. They should sell this in a vat. I would buy it. I would give it as a gift. I would bathe in it. Also of note is the adorably decorate interior of the place, the amazingingly handy to go boxes that perfectly fit cupcakes, and the creative business cards shaped like a cupcake. Cupcake Galore.

I have to agree with most people as far as the frosting being the best. I don't even enjoy normal frosting, that's probably why I love the Saint Cupcake frost. BUTTERCREAM! Mmmmmmmmmmmm. By the way, it's inside a vintage store called Noun, the vintage is totally seperate from the Saint Cupcake kiosk in the back of the store. If there wasn't a total BABE named Bree that worked in there, I probably wouldn't come in as much to be honest.

This new location just opened...but everything is prepackaged in combination boxes. I didn't  get the freedom of pointing and making my own box of goodies like the other location. Although, I still got my Saint Cupcake fix here. I love goood cupcakes. We got there a little before 3pm on a Sunday and basically bought the last 2 boxes available. I like the little ones because I can have a little taste of everything I want. Although it is adorably packaged, I thought it was a bit excessive  (packaging) for 1 cupcake-to-go-go...I did end up paying for the packaging...I spent $34 on two boxes of a dozen mini combos and 1 cupcake-to-go-go....
