My family ate here regularly while I was growing up. It was our go-to for cheap, homemade-style Vietnamese food. But as time went by, and more options sprang up in the area, we all slowly drifted away. I haven't been back in years. But from what I recall, the food was always good, though not great.

A group of us (9 total) ate "family style" at Saigon Kitchen a couple of weeks ago.
Our meal included 8 entrees including two soups. That along with appetizers and an assortment of non-alcoholic beverages came out to a total of twelve dollars a person.
To start off, I ordered a coconut drink called nuoc dua toi. This is a very cool drink cause not only is it very refreshing its imbued with thick slices of real coconut. Yummy.
For appetizers, their goi cuon tom ( shrimp spring rolls) are some of the best I've had.
One of the most pleasing entrees of the meal was the chicken legs braised in lemongrass: (ga kho xa.) The chicken was tender, spicy & delectable.
The tofu & chives soup: ( canh dau hu & he) was totally revitalizing.
We also ordered canh chua tom (sour soup w/ shrimp) and mostly everyone else thoroughly enjoyed it.
However, although it looked really pretty with substantial shrimps floating on top it just wasn't for me. Lemon grass broth is definitely an acquired taste and not one I plan to be acquiring anytime soon.
The fried fish is amazing & I was expecting their green papaya salad w/ shrimp & pork (goi du du tom thit) to be quite spicy but it in fact wasn't at all.
I had never eaten banh xeo (Vietnamese crepe) before and despite my Vietnamese friends saying the crepe was not crispy enough to my untrained palate it was more than satisfactory. I can't wait to have another one.
The service was decent and for the price you can't really complain.
I didn't get to sample the bo luc lac (usually my favorite dish at Vietnamese restaurants) so I will definitely be going back.

Their beef pho is pretty good here and they also have one that comes with chicken! Their egg rolls come out in a crispy shell and since they only come in twos you may have to have another order because they're that good.
Service was a little off because our group ordered a lot of food, but it's the food that counts right?

Saigon Kitchen is a good Vietnamese restaurant with above average decor and above average service. Menu is diverse and I think anyone who likes some type of Asian cuisine would find something to enjoy. My wife always orders a vermicelli dish with spicy shrimp and BBQ pork. I have yet to get stuck on a single favorite but do enjoy their beef soup (several varieties) and the lemongrass chicken. Clientle spans the gamut from groups of teens to 3 generations enjoying a meal together.
