I love Thai, Japanese, and Chinese food but I haven't had Vietnamese food in 2 years. Why? Because I thought it was awful every time I had it.

My mind was changed thisafternoon after going to Saigon City with a few regulars (and by regulars i mean 2-3 times a week). The entire drive there the discussion was about the excitement for the Pho. I figured i'd give it a shot but definitely wasnt thrilled about going.

I am a new person. The pho was UNBELIEVABLE. Perfect temperature so the thinly sliced beef cooked quickly. The basil and flavors were rich and just right. Yum Yum Yum.

We also ordered a side of their pork. Im not sure what flavor it was because we didnt actually look at the menu (i mentioned we were with regulars!) but it was amazing as well.

My trip to Saigon City has put Vietnamese back on my lists of food. I can't wait to go back.

Dismayed and suicidal after discovering Pho Hoa was closed due to a gas shutoff in the area, I happened to find this Vietnamese alternative only a few blocks away using my nifty iPhone Yelp App.

The place looks great, especially for a Vietnamese restaurant! At first I thought the prices would be through the roof but they were actually the same as Pho Hoa. Nice.

Too bad the food sucked. I mean, it was good, but it didn't taste like ANY Vietnamese I've ever had. The broth for the Pho was sweet and really oily. Totally caught me off guard.

Also, the waiter didn't ask us what drinks we wanted or even bother to serve basil, cilantro, OR sprouts with our pho - guess he thought I was gringo through and through. Little did he know I was a little Vietnamese woman in my former life. Did I mention it took forever to get a check in a restaurant with only two tables occupied?

Little Vietnamese Woman Rejected!

I heard this place shut down??? Someone tell me it isn't so! I liked it! Some of it was pricier but not UNexpected! If it's open (TELL ME!) I must go back before I leave the States!!!! =P I love their vermicelli and my coworker loved their soup dishes (she's vegetarian and they are VERY accommodating) Also, 3 colors here VERY GOOD! Mm... I want Viet food now!!! =P

There ar e a few Vietnamese places in here in South Florida, however this happens to be my favorite.  The pho is excellent, the best in the area.  If its not the Pho, then I love the fish in hot pot, number 77 on the menu.  Its piece of fish cooked in a sweet and peppery sauce.. something I have to get everytime I go.  As for the Pho, the base is perfect everytime.. in taste, color, and temperature.  The meats are fresh...and dont have that frozen taste and texture like some of the other places around the area.  Its a bit of a drive for me, but worth it everytime.

Not as good as Pho Hoa, but there are some items on this menu that you can't get over there.

If I were solely rating one thing on the menu (the grilled squid/shrimp/beef assortment with rice paper wrappers...it's somewhere listed under the hot pots), I'd rate it a FIVE though.  It's cooked so perfectly and the seasonings are so good.  You add rice vermicelli and vegetables and roll them up in a stack of rice paper that you wet yourself...and dip in the fish sauce.  It's enough for 2-3 people, so it's a great deal...and so healthy too.

I also love when they play the Vietnamese music videos on the big-screen TV while you eat.  However, I think they dubbed them somehow while they were also playing video games, so some of the video game noises sometimes leak into the recordings.  Either that, or a kid is playing video games in the back.  Which could also be the case, seeing as on weekends a little girl is hanging out there playing quietly on her own (one of the workers' daughters).

Based on my girlfriend's recommendation, I got the sugarcane shrimp. It came with rice paper wraps, rice noodles, and some vegetables. I am a total newb at wrapping rice paper so it was rather messy but very delicious. Also, the bubble tea we ordered was very tasty. I would say the food was excellent, the service was good, and the atmosphere was fair.
