2 reviews for Sahara Pizza
Holy wow... I have not been treated this poorly in some time.
I had a Sahara (entertainment book) coupon for 50% off up to $8 max off my order, only it was addressed for the Shoreline store. I was willing to pay full price or use the $3 on-line coupon, but decided to ask if they would honor the better coupon despite being for another store while placing my pizza order. What the heck, you have to ask right? This is a common practice for the coupon savvy and Shoreline is no where near me. I was told "no problem" without hesitation and was specific in explaining that this coupon deal was for another Sahara pizza. The gentleman taking my order was very friendly about my request and happily took my order as if they do this all the time.
Upon arriving maybe 25 minutes later, the lady at the front (no one else there now apparently) saw the coupon in my hand, before even touching it, instantly informed that "we don't take that here". OK fine, obviously there is a communication issue which has nothing to do with me. I politely tried to explain that I called ahead and received permission beforehand from whoever was answering the phone when my order was placed. She then began ranting about firing her employees frantically pointing at the back of the coupon like I didn't read it. Wow... this person is nuts, and I'm not going to go to this level, There was certainly not going to be any civil communication possible with this person in this state of mind so I excused myself and left the store without my pizza. She sent me on my way with a victorious, sarcastic, sardonic "OK, have a great night then *smile*" knowing full well she had done everything she could to destroy it.
Halfway home, against my better judgment, I hit redial on my phone to see if I could talk to the nice person again. I thought maybe he could calm her down and come to some kind of happy resolve hopefully not ending in anyone getting fired. To my horror, this same miserable lady answered. When I dumbly asked if the person I spoke to earlier was there, she started screeching incoherently into the phone which ended by me hanging up. I wasn't going to waste any more effort on this. Life is too short and Papa Murphy's was on the way back =)
So... short story shorter, this lady (the owner?) is going to lose a customer (perhaps many actually), fire a trained employee then replace them, throw away (or resell...ugh) an already made large pizza, and get all bent out of shape over a simple misunderstanding amounting to a few dollars (Let's say $5 since they offer coupons for the difference.) Yeah... that makes sense. Had this gone any other way, everyone could have been happy. I was perfectly willing to pay full price for my pizza when I called but could not bring myself to reward such behavior after being assualted and there was no compromise.
What a horrible way to treat a customer and even worse way to treat employees who make judgement calls as legal stewards of the business. I can't in good conscience do business nor support someone so professionally inept and out of control. I feel just terrible for the employees there.
I will NOT be back obviously; probably won't be going to any Sahara, for that matter, unless I get an explanation and apology from Sahara headquarters (who has a copy of this post). I would expect there are franchise guidelines on how customers and employees are treated, if not, there should be. No one wants to buy food prepared by unhappy people.
EDIT: I recall this is the same person who chewed me out on another occasion some time ago for trying to use a coupon without informing them in advance. This is habitual behavior, buyer (and potential jobseekers) beware.
Best pizza in Duvall. Seriously, everything we've ordered from here was really, really yummy. They deliver, but we usually just pick it up since it's about a minute from our house. Yummy yummy pizza pizza.
