Since Sahara is really the only middle eastern food in this area of town, I've been there on several occasions. I always get the sahen lamb with rice and pinenuts. If you are a fan of lamb and/or fabulously tender slow-cooked meat, definitely try this one. It has wonderful flavor, and it melts in your mouth. The arrayas appetizer is also very good. The falafel and pita are standard fare. My husband feels that the portions on some of the dishes are a little lacking, but I always bring home leftovers.
Never crowded, so-so service, good food, slightly overpriced (given portion size).

Sahara is a decent Middle Eastern Restaurant. I absolutely adore the Hummus, and basically...everything else on the menu!
This isn't a bad place to go every once in a while. The only problem I have with it is that the waitstaff can be really badddd sometimes. But they are always very courteous and helpful, so it never matters too much.
My sister usually orders some variety plate or something like that, which isn't too bad if you want a little bit of everything.
Oh, and this is kind of random, but the rice they have here is absolutely exquisite. I'm not sure exactly what they put in it, but it makes it taste heavenly!!

Me likey Gyros!
That would be the one food I would choose to be stranded on a deserted island with.
Since I work and (unfortunately) live in the DTC area, I frequent and suggest this place a lot because it's the only pretty good Mediterranean food around for miles and miles.
The staff is incredibly friendly and always super nice. Plus, they have got to have the super-all-knowing-tell-you-exactly-when-your-custo mer-is ready-to-order machine, because they always have perfect timing when I am ready to place my order and they never ask too soon. My God, one hopes this device doesn't fall into the wrong hands.
I love the flavors and every dish I've tried has been well cooked and very flavorful. But to be honest, I go for the gyros. And the yogurt sauce (Is it tahini sauce? I can never remember) it comes with is just waaaaay too runny. I like me some thick sauce to spread on my gyro and and not just dribble on it. And that's where the star docking comes in.
Other than weak sauce, this place has good food, friendly service and a really diverse menu.

I went to Sahara after several friends recommended it to me. The food was forgetable since the portion was small. I was a little disppointed with it. After that dinner, I told Sean I need to eat somewhere else... :( I would rather spend my money else where.
I love "ethnic" places. They did a good job with their decorations and food choices. However, their chicken swarma, garlic chicken and even chicken kabob meals look exactly the same. Taste wise they aren't that great. The only thing that really tastes fantastic is their everything plate, I forgot the name right now. But it's a taste of all the different types of foods they have their (falafel, lamb, etc...).

I think this is one of the better Middle Eastern restaurants in Denver.
I eat lunch here every time I get down in the tech center around lunch time. Service is pleasant and efficient but not rushed.
All the usual dishes are here with the highlights being the Sahara special which give you a sample of almost everything for $10 bucks. The vegetarian portion of this dish, Hummus, Babaghanouj, and Tabbouleh are especially delicious.
The mint tea (small pot PACKED with fresh mint leaves) is fantastic. The baklava is also excellent.
I started out to give this place 4 stars but as I read my review I thought what is the 1 star deduction for? I couldn't think of a good reason so here goes with a 5.
I love places like Sahara, where enthusiasm, graciousness, and self-expression far outweigh self-importance. And of the multitudes of moderately priced Middle Eastern restaurants around, few offer the combination of fashionable, inviting surroundings and uncomplicated but expertly prepared fare that Sahara does. The menu is predictably Middle Eastern, with the usual appetizers, dips, salads, kabobs, and shawarmas. There is nothing particularly exotic here, but the dishes are so sublime, the flavors so fresh and demanding that you don't mind eating the same old tabbouleh and baba ghanoush for the upteenth time. The cuisine may be ancient, but the kitchen's lively treatment of ingredients, spices, and tastes somehow feels very new.
