Every doctor, nurse, PA, or whatever clinical staff, that I've dealt with here, has been nothing short of top-notch, keeping this my office of choice years after I was introduced to it through my college health service.
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of the whole office; I've had repeated trouble with getting prescriptions faxed, and the suchlike, that's negatively impacted my healthcare, and that's making me think about switching away.
So, 5 stars for the clinical side, one and a half for the office side (the extra half is for the generally pleasant attitude in person), three stars, right in the middle seems an appropriate score.
Dr. Odland and Dr. Wilson and the others that work weekends - are awesome! Geniune concern and spend 45 minutes going over my issues ( anemia, hypoglycemic, hypothyroid, plantar fascitis, ect....) I have been going here for 5 years. They have squeezed me in when I had bronchoits with asthma too!
Loving them ;)
I've been a patient with a few doctors at Sage, but right now my go-to MD of choice is Sharon Fellingham, who happens to be my primary doctors physican assistant.
It took me a few visits to realize that she reminded me of Ellen Page's character in Juno, but once I got past that...well, she's just awesome.
The service can be a little iffy at times...today I showed up 45 minutes early for my appointment and was seen right away, before that I've often had to wait 20 minutes past my scheduled appointment time.
I love that there is parking here too...you never know how much to feed the meter when you're going to see the doc, so I appreciate the lot. Alot.
I think that this place is great!
My doctor is Dr. Wilson, and I just love her. I have never, ever felt so at ease with a doctor before. I can open up to her about all of my medical concerns, and she gives me good, no nonsense, medical advice. She related a story to me the other day that broke my heart, but also made me realize how much she actually cares about her patients.
Also, I think the staff is great too! The nurses are friendly and efficient (and let me tell you...this is not an easy conclusion to come to when they are sticking you with needles and telling you to drop trou...so there you go!).
Don't let the fact that this is a walk-in clinic for DePaul students - I've never been put off once!
Definitely recommended!
Sage Medical group is my selected provider on my HMO. I thought because the reviews were good that I would really enjoy my experience. I did not. My sister had a good experience with Dr. Baldinger. He is nice, attentive, and interesting in knowing his patients. I tried to schedule several appointments to be seen as a new patient (since my insurance is paying them anyway) and there was nothing they could do to work with my schedule. The one receptionist has been very rude both in person as well as on the phone. If you're a new patient you cannot get evening or weekend appointments....its totally bogus...I work full time and I also go to school full time...how the hell am I supposed to see my contracted doctor if not in the evenings or on the weekends? I think this place really needs to reevaluate their staff.
Bummed about all these bad reviews! My doctor recently moved to Sage and her excellent care has been made even, uh, excellenter. The office is cozy and not so sterile and creepy, the Sage staff is knowledgeable and friendly and they were great with me when I fainted after a blood draw (shut up! I'm a delicate blossom!).
However, please don't go here because if you all do, then it will be harder for me to get appointments. Shhh! Pretend you didn't read this!
I like my actual doctor, Jennifer Warren. She's awesome. The office staff is okay and the nurses, depending on who you get are good. I just feel that some of them wish they were anywhere else but there. Jennifer is awesome.
Since they're the DePaul health clinic, they have a ton of doctors so if you had to get in that day, you most likely could.
I really didn't enjoy my visit. Lackluster receptionists, sleepy nurses, and 40 minutes waiting in the room after sitting in the empty waiting room forever? Ok, it wasn't empty, there was a family in there. But still. I was in the waiting room about half an hour. Ok, that's understandable. But then when they called me into the room, I literally took a 1/2 hour nap. From 11:35 to 12:06 pm. What are they doing over there? Performing surgery?? The person I ended up meeting wasn't even a doctor, she was a nurse practitioner. Who saw me for 5 mins, 10 mins MAX. They then proceeded to charge me the maximum amount they could. No labwork, no tests, no nothing. A five minute meeting and I was charged $135. Even after they knew I didn't have insurance and I had been unemployed for 6 months. Even the clerk was shocked, so that's saying something. She was the only good thing about the whole visit. She tried to get the "doctor" to come out and explain the break down of the $135, but the "doctor" refused. Horrible place.
I have seen Dr. Klor-Gross for years, and Dr. Aden a few times when she was not available and there was some urgency. I feel very grateful, and almost blessed to have found Dr. KG. The 8-10 years I have seen her she has always been attentive, expressed personal concern, and even has taken time to call me and my family members (I sent them all to her when they were looking for a GP, and they all love her) in her off hours to see how we were. When I did not have insurance she would fill prescriptions without visits, make sure I got the most affordable but effective medication, got samples for me, and spend time on the phone with me to make sure renewing the prescriptions was prudent. I always feel safe and comfortable coming to her with any problem, she always not only remembers me in a very familiar and friendly way, but makes me feel like she genuinely cares. I truly feel like she is almost family. She has also referred me to some fantastic doctors, and almost every doctor I have seen in this city has had something enthusiastically positive to say about her. She is rare, she is good at her job, and if you are lucky enough to see her, you can be assured you are in great hands.
Dr. Aden is also very kind, listens attentively, and does thorough work. I would recommend her also, if you cannot get an appointment with KG and I have a couple friends who use her as a GP per my recommendation and love her. I have also heard great things about Dr. Wilson. Sage Medical Group seems to have some truly excellent doctors on staff.
I you are not a DePaul student it is by appointment only.
This group is great! I recently transfered here because I wanted a woman doctor. Dr. Wilson took the time to get a thorough history and actually listened to the things I was worried about. After some tests, I was finally diagnosed and am on my way to feeling 100%. Definitely recommend. The nurses and front desk staff have never been anything but courteous. The waiting room is always full (due to DePaul students) but I never wait longer than 5 minutes.
My partner and I have had good experiences with Sage Medical and Dr. Raj Mahay. Unfortunately, he's moved to St. Louis, so we're going to choose another Sage MD for our primary-care physician. Nice to be able to do that and keep our records there. The staff has been fine, not spectacular, otherwise I'd give five stars. Hope they've figured out their computer network, as it's sometimes been slow and confusing for them.
I'm going five here becasue I have been going here for over a year and the staff has been nothing but fantastic. The place doubles as a wlak-in clinic for DePaul kids. they want things thier way and they want it now...for people who go here on appointment basis with a regular doctor I think the place is fantastic!
If you need sticthes, this is not the place to go! I needed sticthes and they told me that they don't offer that service! What is that about!
The doctors are really friendly and attentive. However, their office staff, nurses assistants, etc. are extremely rude and useless. Some of my appointments were entered for the wrong time and reasons. I have had calls confirming appointments I did not make. The nurses/assistants don't smile or sit around chatting with each other. I've seen them whisper and laugh at patients' charts.
If the doctor's want to stay in business and if they want to see more patients, they need to get rid of their rude staff pronto.
I have been seeing Dr. Aden for years, but since she moved to Sage Medical, I am seriously thinking about changing doctors. The staff is rude and unresponsive. I recognize the lack of good help in the medical field, but the poor attitude of the staff here is really atrocious.
They've just remodeled. I never have trouble getting an apointment. I love my doctor, who spends time with me and really cares about me (Dr. Marilyn Aden). Don't care for St. Joe's that much - ER full of morons - but staff physicians like mine are most excellent.
I like Sage. I love my doctor. And several of my friends also have her as their phsician for years as well.
Don't bother!!!!!!! No help.
Dr. Klor-Gross is great, she's been my Dr. for years and I've never had a problem with her. She's very friendly and super easy to talk to. I, however, regret to say that I can not be so positive about the staff in the office. They are so unfriendly and somewhat incompetent. I've been seeing the Dr. for about 8 years and sometimes I call and they tell me that they can't find my file and that they'll call me back. Clearly nobody ever calls me back. Recently I was trying to have a prescription called in and it was the biggest hassle. First I called and they said they would take care of it. I called back a week later because it had never been called in and they said it was because they couldn't find my file (shocker). Finally I call again and she says she called it in. I went to the pharmacy and they said there was no prescription. So, finally I had the pharmacist call the Dr. Office, and the whole situation was because they were spelling my name completely wrong. Who did they think they were writing the prescription for, obviously that's not my name on any of my charts, or maybe it is and that's why they can never find my records. Either way, it's very frustrating to deal with, but I will continue to go there because I really like the Dr.
