I give The Sage 4 stars for their bagels-crispy and well-cooked on the outside; chewy on the inside. The bialys have too much garlic.
Smoked fish is good-sable particularly.
Like many such places, the characters behind the counter make or break the experience. It seems that Sage management works with a staffing agency that culls its referrals from a pool of rapscalian crackheads. These guys all look like they spend their down town working I95 intersections, collecting for the homeless. But it hasn't hurt their cigarette hacking, sputum spewing senses of humor. They're nice, but crispy around the edges.
Chopped liver is good; potato knishes not so much. Good onion rolls and hotdogs. Located in one of S Florida's raunchier strip shopping centers (are there any other in S FL?), The Sage has S FL's best bagel by a long shot. That alone makes it worth a trip.
Went here for take-out sandwiches. The place is small but also inviting most of what I saw behind the deli looked really yummy. However, it took forever for someone to take my order and the waitresses seemed like you were bothering them. I ordered a Turkey on white and a Reuben. I wanted to modify my order but after waiting and finally scrambling to find someone that could help the sandwiches were brought out. They also got my side orders wrong. I didn't get the potato salad I asked for they gave me one of those cups of coleslaw-ICKY. The meat on the sandwiches was piled high and very good. I might go there again- but they seemed a little overpriced ($25 for just the 2 items) Bread came out of a bag soo that makes no sense to me.

Went here with my Grandmother when I was in town for a wedding. We used to go to "the cove" which I thought was a little better. The coffee here wasn't that good. I had some nice slices of belly lox to go along with my bagel as well as some whitefish. Both the lox and whitefish were very tasty. The OJ tasted like it was from frozen concentrate and I couldn't even drink it. The service is good, as my grandmother goes there all the time and the waitress that is there used to know her from "the cove" so she takes care of us. If you want some good lox and a bagel, I'd recommend it. The parking could be difficult as the small lot fills up quickly.
