Saeed's is 50% corner market and 50% specialty deli. But for sure, it is 100% awesome!
Excellent selection of all the random spices and foods you can't find at your local grocery market.
Recommendation: Any of the freshly baked pastries. -

love this market & deli! recommended for spice shopping and delicious prepared foods and pasteries. Friendly service and nicely situated indoor and outdoor (seasonal) seating.

I lived in New London back in 2000, and Saeed's was one of the few gems around that area. Good falafel sandwiches and an absolutely amazing selection of olives. Over a dozen varieties in the olive bar.
Yesterday, one of my fellow organizers was making a trip out to New London, so I gave him the address to Saeed's and asked him to pick up some olives for me. Another coworker went in with me, and we got him to pick up a very large tub of French Nicoisse (sp?), and a large/medium tub of Lebanese Black, and a large/medium tub of Lebanese Green. He brought them today and it was only $15 for a whole lot of very high-quality olives.
I've lived in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Boston, Philly, Western Mass, NYC, Albany, Tennessee and Georgia, and I'm always on the lookout for places with a good olive selection. The best I've found so far is in New London, CT of all places. That alone is worth five stars for me. -

So I totally created a monster with their gyros and hummus in my boyfriend. In the month since I went there the first time we were almost weekly visitors chowing down on their classic with hummus and pita chips. I wish that I had also known about their international market when I first arrived in New London as it would have filled my "trader joes" urge for diverse foods.

Falafel is made who knows when then reheated, a cardinal sin but the only place in the area that offers middle eastern. Other pita wraps are ok. Market is a good spot for exotic items.
