i have been in here a few times now. haven't bought anything yet, but will be back to buy my bff some housewarming prezzies.

it's kind of pricey, buuuuut that goes with the territory. it's not target (or ikea or dollar general), but you can find some small gifty things (cards, magnets) for $10 or so.

support independent stores!

Amazing place.  This partly reminded me of Hang Art in San Francisco since the place showed off great, varied local art, but at affordable prices.

Michele helped me out and was great giving me a background on technique and stories about what I bought.  Our office's walls thanks this place.

Same as for the previous location - full disclosure - this is my sister-in-law's store.

The new location in Lincoln Square is great. The content of the store (including Sarah, who is just great, but more on her later) is the same as before, but the store is brighter and cheerier. As before, the local artwork represetns a great variety of types and prices, and there should be something for anyone on almost any budget.

Sarah is super nice and friendly, so if you are in the area, I suggest you stop in and say hello. Maybe you'll see something you like, maybe you'll see something a friend would like. And she's dog friendly too!

Sacred Art was full of things I would have loved were they about half the price.

A lot of the art had a Chicago theme.  The art featuring El signs were especially cute.

I love the art they create out of old license plates.  Not only is it reclaimed material but it's quirky and cute.  They have a map of Illinois made out of all the old Illinois plates (remember those plain blue ones before Lincoln's visage came to spruce up our cars?).  You can also custom-order signs where they cut letters out of old plates to create any word you want.

Overall, I like the artwork here, but feel it would be more of a special-purpose-splurge.

Sacred Art is a great little local business. It's much more accessible at this location than at the previous Roscoe Village location, in my opinion, anyway. The staff is always friendly (sometimes too friendly and enthusiastic), and the art is good stuff. Lots of local flair and fun/funky unique pieces for your home.

Sarah is cute, friendly, funny and manages to make you feel welcome.

One step inside you're instantly compelled to buy things because you know that they're all local Chicago artists, but also because they are beautiful pieces that are AFFORDABLE.

Ceramics, painting, prints, sock monkeys and more.

I listened to Sarah explain to a patron the best way to frame a piece he had brought in.  This woman knows what she's doing.

There's also a lovely place in the sun to sit in.

If you're looking for the perfect gift, or a nice piece of art to add some character to your place, come here.  The store has a great, affordable, eclectic mix of prints and pieces are a welcome (and accessible) introduction to local artists.

I stopped in months ago when I was out of a job and vowed to go back once I was employed!  Today, one of my first post-job purchases was here, as a gift for a friend who is moving out of state.  I wanted to get her a unique piece of art that she would be proud to hang in her home - and I found it, with help from one of the associates.

The shop is awesome - I'll be back!

Anyone who's been to my apartment and then ventures into Sacred Art would see why I like the store -- finding unique and original art pieces is one of my many hobbies, and Sarah does an excellent job of offering a tremendous diversity of artwork in one venue. Her store is child-friendly (just make sure you're not one of those parents who lets their children run rampant -- she's tolerant as long as your kids are well behaved!) and there's a wide range of prices for every budget. This is a well planned addition to Lincoln Square, and a huge improvement over the Eastern European travel agency that was formerly in this space.

I can't even afford to BUY art, but words can barely express how excited I am to have Sacred Art in the neighborhood.
I first visited Sarah at the original Roscoe Village location in a Victory's Banner-induced stupor, but I still loved what I saw: one-of-a-kind Barack Obama posters, neighborhood map posters by ORK Designs, unique jewelry and gorgeous (I mean GORGEOUS) pieces with birds painted onto wood canvases. Everything in the store looked like something I could put into my own apartment.
I walked in during Sacred Art's first day in business in the former Adriatic Sunshine Travel space -- which had always looked so musty and dim from the street -- and was stunned to find the now bright, spacious and absolutely charming gallery already bustling with people.
Despite my seriously shoestring budget, the pieces in this shop ARE affordable for most (I saw some little prints available in the $30 range), and if you're looking to move up from tacked-up Tarantino posters or Rothko prints you bought online, this is the perfect place to start.
Stop in at Sacred Art and find something special for you.

Welcome to the neighborhood!

The new Lincoln Square store is the PERFECT location for the new Sacred Art. Sarah has done an amazing job making the space approachable and super fun to walk around and take everything in. You can find some really nice, unique pieces by local artists for under $200 and many items under $100. I bought a gorgeous ring there last month along with some stationary cards and a cool magnet. If you have a friend's birthday coming up this is a great place to find a special, one of a kind gift that won't break your bank. Stop in and check it out!!

regarding the reviewer who carped about the price....are you kidding me? Sacred Art is wonderful, the art is accessible and priced for the first-time art buyer. I love this place, and I highly recommend it. Especially nice off-the-beaten-path place for tourists to visit.
