Diablo Valley College Student Discount Spot #6
Promo: 7% Discount On Lunch/Dinner
Haven't kept up with my DVC Student Discount List since the start of all my classes. Having washed my Student ID card, and buying a new sticker for $5, I'm back to slow start.
Sachi Sushi, at first when I was trying to do some research I noticed that there has been some sort of change in management and their website seems to have closed down. I thought this place doesn't exist anymore but according to Yelp, it was still kickin'!
Your friendly local all-around Japanese Cuisine serving ramen, udon, tempura, and sushi! I can't tell you much about the ramen or udon because I usually love to cook something that easily for myself at home with lower costs and higher tastes. I am always eating out sushi!
First time here, with my cousin and two friends, didn't know what to expect. The place was mediocre, the decor was simple with solid earthly colors, and the staff wasn't very enthusiastic. People with a stoic face just makes me think they'll flat-line and hit the floor any moment.
I ordered the Mixed Vegetable/Shrimp Tempura and Chirashi while the rest of my company just ordered a bunch of sushi rolls with localized names like "Redwood Roll".
My food was very fresh, the color of the fish was still there, and the taste didn't leave any weird gummy aftertaste too. The tea they served was very strong and wasn't watered down like I expected it to be. The tempura veggies are one of my favorite appetizers to have. I wasn't fond of the tempura shrimp since it was overcooked but what can one expect from fried food.
Don't know if I would come back unless I was really craving some sashimi. But I saved about $30 on the whole meal thanks to the discount so I did give a benevolent amount of tips.
I've been hesitant to go to sushi restaurants in San Ramon but dinner was free (business dinner). Sachi doesn't have the bizarre, nightclub decor of Miraku but looks rather non-descript inside. The sushi bar is up front and the wooden booths provide privacy. Cold towelettes are provided on the table.
The menu is typical, with appetizers, nigiri sushi, rolls (nothing too crazy), noodles, teriyaki, sashimi, and sukiyaki. The lunch menu features lower prices. Roast pork ramen is $9.50 on the lunch menu and $12.95 on the dinner menu. Dinner started with a bowl of cold, steamed edamame. Complimentary green tea is available upon request.
I had the roast pork ramen ($12.95, expensive) with 1/2 a boiled egg, bamboo shoots, napa cabbage, roast pork, and thinly sliced fish cakes in a "miso" broth. The broth was very cloudy and white/pale. It tasted like they forgot the miso. The roast pork slices were small, dark and thin. The quality of the roast pork just wasn't very good. Having so much napa cabbage in the ramen was also weird. The noodles were fine - slightly curly and not overcooked. The portion seemed generous but that might be because I didn't want to eat much of it.
Good service: they refilled my cup of tea many times. Hmm, I like Miraku better than Sachi but Miraku is so weird looking inside.

SHORT AKA ADHD VERSION:
First time: Crap.
Second time: WOW'd out of our minds!
Chirashi - 5/5 $17.99
Tempura Udon - 4/5 but needs work on the broth
Seaweed salad - 4/5 sesame seed garnish was interesting, but not that tasty.
Michael our waiter was insanely awesome! ASK FOR HIM!
A lot of inconsistencies - Sometimes customers get free edamame, sometimes tea, sometimes hot towels. Sometimes we get crappy service and sometimes we get flawless service. I think that management is going through some changes, but one thing is for sure... their server Michael is awesome! He refilled our beer/sake everytime the cups were empty, and came by 3 times to see if we were doing fine. LOVE HIM!

YELP-TASTIC REVIEW VERSION:
What happened the last time we were here?! I swear... this place got REALLY REALLY GOOD! Either that or we went on an off day.
So, I pick up BF from the airport, and we decide to go home, rest up, say hi to family, and then go off to dinner. "Where do you want to go for dinner honey?" he asks. Since it's my choice, I'm not even going to bother arguing. "SUSHI!" I pipe like a 5 year old, to which he eloquently replies "Anything my princess wants."
[You are permitted to barf now.]
Anyways, we roll up to Sachi Sushi, and I complain (YES! I ADMITTED I COMPLAIN!) "Babe, here again? It wasn't that good last time and kind of pricey." BF says, "let's try it again and see how it is then." I agree, and then we proceeded to walk in.
We were seated by Michael our waiter. He was obviously very busy, but we didn't quite mind. After we've sat for literally three minutes, he runs up to us and says "I apologize so much for the wait, I am so sorry I've left you unattended, could I get you anything to drink?"
::blink:: ::blink:: "Um... don't worry about the wait...um...maybe some sake and sapporo?"
That was just the beginning of Michael's unfailing service and cheerful effort to make our dining experience one-of-a-kind and memorable. No kidding, but it was! I ordered a nigori sake by Sho Chiku Bai - it was the exact one I described to him! Everytime we finished what was in our glasses, he stopped by our table, refilled and whisked away. For dinner we ordered some tempura udon, seaweed salad, and a chirashi.
Chirashi - Filled with all kinds of fish and they melted in your mouth! Sooooooooooooooooooo.....
.... [i could keep going on but I'll stop]....
...oooooo tasty! I just wish that more places would add Ikura. But they added some tobiko so I'm super happy. They even added palate cleansers to the dish, to chew on between each and every fish type so that one could "savor the flavor." Even THOSE were tasty! 5/5 for sure!
Tempura Udon - The tempura was JUST RIGHT! Not too much batter, crunchy and flavorful(5/5). Tempura sauce was not overpowering at all! I stole two tempura pieces (sweet potato!) from BF. Hehehehehe. I tried a piece of his udon noodle. Strictly for yelp of course! (lol) It was so soft, like it had just been made! So tender, not too chewy, but not over-boiled either (4/5). The broth was pretty basic, a bit too much sesame oil (3/5). Overall, I'd give it a 4/5 because everything was good except for the broth.
Seaweed Salad - Pretty good, but how can you mess this up? They garnished with sesame seeds for extra pizzaz. 4/5.
Generally, I am rating it pretty high. But why? Food was definately good, but the service was impeccable and truly made our night, which is something BF and I really needed after not seeing each other for 3 weeks! We tipped him well, he truly deserved it.
If you go here again, ask for Michael (asian guy, medium height, and medium build). If you as for Michael, chances are that you are going to enjoy your meal even better than without!
Thanks again Michael!

With the exception of everyone who only eats here for lunch, I think a lot of you 4-5 star folks need to get out of the Tri-Val. Hayward has better sushi joints for goodness sakes!
Anyway, 1 star for having a clearly labeled veggie sushi section (shiitake roll was good). Another star for using silken tofu for the hiyayakko.
Otherwise, it's not worth a special trip out to San Ramon...especially since they charge $10+ for a vegetarian ramen bowl that didn't even have the miso stated in the menu.
Notables: other than the silken tofu, they also have green tea soba. Also, their presentation is better than other similar-quality Japanese restaurants, though I'd rather just have more positively memorable food.

This place does not give the DVC student discount. I went there with a bunch of friends, and they said no, although other people seem to have been successful at using it. whuz up with that?

I sooo wanted to give you guys 2 stars. Out of dumb luck, my wife walked by while I was writing this review and slapped me in the back of my head. She reminded me and I quote, "look where we're at. This is the only sushi place nearby." To avoid a beat down, I bumped it up an extra star.
Tonight was probably my least favorite eating experience. First, the toro sashimi I ordered was grey. Good quality toro should never look grey. Actually, toro in general shouldn't be grey. Plus, while it was in my mouth, I thought to myself as to why this taste like hamachi and was trying hard to convince myself that this was indeed toro. Two, the california roll had a fishy odor. Why???? We actually had to send it back.
There are some positives though. The customer service is usually good and the folks are generally nice. There are a couple of "safe" dishes such as the chicken and beef teriyaki along with their tempura which is pretty good.

I'd have to agree that this place is Inconsistent. Sometimes we get very fresh and delicious sushi, other times it's just OK. The service is decent, but they are usually slow in the kitchen. Last time, my chicken teriyaki came out mildly warm in temp, like it had been sitting for 15min. It tasted good, but I just couldn't get over why it wasn't hot and fresh from the grill. But we do come her fairly regularly just because it's in close and at a good location. So 3 stars works.
Just had lunch here today with a co-worker who said this place is a great find for some good sushi at low prices....he must be right because when we arrived there was a little line to be seated and there was a good number of diners for a weekday, even if it is lunch hour...considering it's in a shopping center you wouldnt think it's a real destination during work hours since it's a bit out of the way.
Overall the ambiance is very cute, cozy.....the staff is quick and since it was my first place I wasn't sure what to order. The menu is the basic sushi options, bento boxes and sushi combo plates for lunch. I ended up having the spicy tuna roll and the spider roll. My co-worker had the sushi combo which came with miso soup, salad and the meal was California rolls and 1 piece of various sushi....looked very good! My 2 rolls, the spider and the spicy tuna were both very good and for the price it can't be beat.
I would defiantly come back again...the sushi was nice portioned, price is right and the service is right on. With so many sushi places, it's hard to find a good one..but when you do find a good one, you'll always go back! (same take I have on Mexican taquerias!)
Will be back soon...woo hoo sachi sushaaay! =)

we go here for lunch as well. because.. well, it's close, and for the money, not too bad.
the restaurant passes the chirashi test, the fish portions are about average and i haven't ever had a bad experience.
my only complaint, the hostess always seats us in the booths. my co-workers love the booths, only i think that they're not very comfortable. c'mon ya'll, can't we try a table with moveable chairs please?
I've come here several times for lunch but have never had an inspiration to write a review for it. Just a typical Sushi lunch joint which offers a variety selections for Japanese food. You can get sushi, sashimi, bento box, ramon, udon, etc.
The place is quite spacious. You should be able to get a table within 5 minutes. Though it does take a while to get your food at peak time.
The food isn't terrible but not great either. It's just mediocre. I've tried many things here but nothing really stands out. This is a good place for those who don't have high expectation for Japanese food.
Parking is not a problem. They do take credit card with a mininum of 10 dollars. Lunch menu is starting from about 9 dollars + tax. Servers are attentive.
If I'm not mistaken, this place is owned by Chinese people.

We came here to celebrate my bf's birthday with his family. There were 8 of us, so there was plenty of stealing bites from different food.
I ordered the Roast Pork Ramen, which turned out to be pretty decent. It wasn't the best ramen (I prefer Ryowa in Mountain View), but it was good on a nice chilly fall evening. There were plenty of meat pieces, along with bamboo shoots, 1/2 egg, and chewy noodles. It was pricer than other ramen places, but the bowl was filling. (Solid 3 stars).
I ordered a Dynamite roll, which tasted okay. It was hard to taste the fish over the spicy sauce and the tons of daikon sprouts.
Stolen bites: The grilled hamachi collar (whatever it maybe called) was quite tasty. The lion king salmon was a bit dry.
The waiter was helpful and accommodating, but not very friendly. He provided all the plates, forks, and a knife for our bday cake.
Overall, decent food, but not the best. The ramen and other entrees seemed to outrank the sushi. (Yes, ironic for a place called "Sashi Sushi").

Probably the worst service I ever got. We got treated differently just because of our age (we were about 19). They were insanely rude and helped other tables who sat way after us before we even got to order drinks. I'll never go there again.
There is some good and some bad here. Nothing terrible, but just nothing great either.
Service is spotty - nice but nothing special. Miscommunication: one server came to take our order but we said we needed more time. Not one minute passed before a different server came to take our order and again we had to say we weren't ready. Who is our server exactly? Then a completely different person brought dishes and then finally the bill was brought by someone we had never seen before and she merely placely it on the table and walked away without so much as eye contact much less "we hope you enjoyed your meal" or the like.
Ambiance was okay. Not very warm, however...we did like the booths and the high backs for privacy. We unknowingly walked in the back door, not knowing there was a more formal front entrance (we only knew the back door from the view from the street driving by which is how we originally found it.) Unfortunately it meant for confusion, not being greeted by anyone and needing to walk up to the front after a couple minutes of not being noticed. Perhaps they need a simple sign there saying "please walk to the front reception area" or something like that would be a good idea?
Food was pretty good on average. The complimentary edamame beans is a nice touch, but they were ice cold, kinda shriveled/old-looking and had no salt on them. A good test of Japanese food for me is how their tempura tastes and how it is prepared. My friend thought it was greasy, but I didn't feel that way at all -- anything deep fried is going to be greasy to some extent but I didn't think it was and instead felt it was very crisp and hot from the fryer which I enjoyed. The miso and salad were fine. My friend had the combination terriyaki salmon and sushi and I had the sashimi. His salmon came out right away and there was a long wait then for everthing else to come. It's a common complaint I have at Japanese restaurants is the pacing. Sometimes everything comes all at once and sometimes it is spotty like this. In any case, this will sound strange but this was just way too much food! He had two big pieces of salmon and broccoli and rice, and then four huge nigiri sushi pieces as well as a ton of califormia rolls which he didn't finish. My sashimi, while I was prepared for the 14 pieces it listed, had pieces of fish that were thickly cut and huge! I perfer smaller pieces to either eat in one or two bites (as I believe is proper, etiquettely speaking), but seriously, these were so big, I not only could not eat them politely, they were 5-6 bites each! I took half of my plate home.
Just a little nit on the menu choices, one of my favorite things that is virtually on all Japanese menus but not on this one is a simple sashimi plate of just tuna (and or just hamachi/yellowtail) rather than assorted sashimi. The menu is quite extensive, which is nice, but I found that odd. Finally, as many people mention here, the prices are on the high side.
Just read some other reviews....you got hot towels? we didn't.
Not sure I'll go again.

This is a nicely decorated and fairly large sushi restaurant in San Ramon, which is not exactly known as a sushi haven. It is an upper middle class suburb on the 680 corridor, 30 miles east of SF.
So what you get is a nicely decorated and clean restaurant, with a sushi bar, a front room with many tables, and some more in the back, and even an upstairs special event area. Or in other words, esthetically pleasing, but gastronomically mediocre.
The sushi is not bad. But it caters to the tastes of the occasional sushi eating suburban masses, therefore, a lot of American style rolls rather than authentic Japanese sushi. In fact, as you might suspect, it is not owned and operated by Japanese. However, the standards for service are good. It is not the running, conscientious service you find in Japan or in good inner city places, but for the burbs, attentive and helpful.
The prices are moderate and although nice in decor, it is a good place to bring the family to get their first or repeat try of "suburban" sushi.

I just had lunch here today and the food was pretty good. Very cute Sushi atmosphere with real Japanese cooks!
I loved their lunch boxes where you can pick any 2 types of entrees and it comes with rice, miso soup, and salad. At other places you don't get to mix and match your entrees that often..but here you can!
Pretty good prices too and large portions so it's a win win situation.

So we used to be regulars here, but this was our first time back in a while...and it was the first time that I ordered the Roast Pork Ramen. I would say that it was only so-so, and I would rather go elsewhere for a bowl of ramen, if that is what I am in the mood for. The broth was decent but I was a bit disappointed in the ramen. There was plenty of cha siu pieces and bamboo shoots.
The grilled hamachi that my mother-in-law had was fishy to me, but everyone else seemed to like it. I also tried some of the rolls that my family ordered, and I liked what I had.
Our waiter seemed like a new-bie, and not as savy as other waiters. He was kind enough to provide us knife, plates and forks for a birthday cake that I brought in.

I've been here 3 times. The first time was pretty good. The second time was fair. The third time was bad.
They must only want first timers! The least profitable segment of any customer group.
I am convinced they made changes to save on costs. So the sesame dressing tastes like it was out of a Costco bulk purchase can (the 256 oz variety), the rice is hard and overly sticky, and the ingredients in the sushi is just not fresh. The beef teriyaki has a funky aftertaste.
The sashimi is still good. But since it's so expensive, it had better be.
People thought this was:

Service was slow but the fish was good!
Salmon, Yellowtail, and Tuna sushi were all good and the pieces of fish were huge! The Unagi and Avocado hand roll was also good.
The serve edamame as an appetizer and if you order an entree it comes with a salad. I thought the salad dressing was ranch or something American because it was white but I was mistaken! I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was some kind of sesame dressing. Yum! So don't jump to conclusions like I did. hehe
I'm so glad that friends recommended this restaurant. I absolutely love everything about it. The food is wonderfuland reasonably priced. The service is always with a smile. I like to eat out alone at times. Often times I find that Japanese restaurants tend to think less of 'singles' vs. larger groups equaling larger bills. Not the case at Sachi Sushi. They're even friendlier when I'm alone; it's like I went out to eat with company.
They're also great with take out orders. They take just as much care and pride with your take-out presentation as they do if you're dining in.
I'll definitely be back for their excellent caterpillar roll!!

I have been here a couple times and it's alright. One of the ways I judge a sushi place is by the quality (and availability) of Toro. The first time the Toro was very good, but on subsequent visits it was (as mentioned) alright.
As far as appetizers, I do like their beef wrapped asparagus.
This is a typical lunch option for my co workers and I as we work in the Bishop Ranch building complex a few blocks away, and I think we come back more for the geographical convenience than for the food. The food isn't too special and the service is decent.
During my last visit we were seated within a minute of arrival and asked for drinks soon thereafter. Bento boxes is what is popular there due to the fact there are a lot of options that can be included. I usually go for the Teriyaki Salmon and California Roll. The comes with a salad and rice.
All in all, this is just a typical sushi joint. Nothing too special. Give it a shot!
Decent little sushi place. It wouldn't be my first choice when in the area, that'd have to go to Sakura Japanese Cuisine, but it's not bad at all. One of the rolls was waaaaaay too lose, and literally could not be touched without falling apart, which I found a bit annoying, but everything else was delicious. I also appreciated the complimentary Edamame, doesn't seem like enough sushi places do that.
I was here during a weekday lunch with two friends. I was very happy to see that the place was very clean. I ordered Nabeyaki Udon $9.95 and just a basic spicy tuna roll $4.95. The sushi was fresh and the soup was tasty unlike other places I've had Udon that was very bland.
My friends both had the chicken teriyaki bento $9.95 and they were both happy with their choice. They are fairly affordable for lunch but the dinner menu is very pricey so they get knocked one star for that.
I've yet to try any of their special rolls so I will rereview but overall I had a pretty pleasant experience.

Sachi Sushi is located in an adorable brick shopping center sprinkled with multiple ethnic restaurants. This particular restaurant, as is more and more common, closes between prime lunch and dinner hours. I had a dinner experience.
The atmosphere within is pretty relaxed. The decor is challenging to describe but suffice it to say that it is well above average. If I remember correctly ( and I don't think I do) I had the Sashimi Regular. Do not order this unless you are famished! Fortunately, I was. It had been a long day at work. This entails:
Salad
Miso Soup
Edamame
14 pieces of raw fish
It was simply picturesque and delicious. I simply had to try their tempura ice cream. It was nice but in no way compares to what Matsu Sushi serves.
In summary, I would enjoy another visit to Sachi.
Update:
If I could deduct a half star for service I would.
I agree that the service can be excellent. When i went this past Thursday I got the distinct feeling they were trying to rush me out. Ironically, there were only about 4 other customers occupying 2 other tables. It was dinner time but ter certainly was no dinner rush. I wasn't taking up prime real-estate. *shrug*

Felix:
I'm a sushi lover guy but unfortunately this place only deserves a 1 star for me. The place is decent and located nicely in the San Ramon village shops but I'm not impressed by their sushi creations.
First they are very pricey compared to other sushi joints. They also serve small portions of sushi rolls with thin slices of fish.
We ordered:
The rainbow roll - thin slices of sushi on top of a tasteless and dry california roll.
Dynamite Roll - was pretty dry and needs a little more kick and taste to it.
The raiders roll was pretty good especially when the waitress said "oh it's about $9 or so". When it came it was pretty big and filled with hamachi slices on top. Yes it was very good until the bill came and it was NOT $9 as what the waitress told us but $13.95. Wholly molly! I would not have ordered that roll if I knew it was that expensive! This is by far the MOST expensive roll I've ordered in my whole life! I think the roll was very overpriced! I didn't dispute this but simply told the manager and she directly apologized.
Caterpillar roll - miniature version of what others offer and nothing spectacular. I compared this to what you can get from Safeway.
I cannot comment on their sashimi since I only ordered rolls . But looking at the price and picture on their menu, it seems that other places like Tomodachi in Hayward and Sozo Sushi in Pleasanton have lower prices with VERY very good quality, quantity, and freshness of sushi.

I wouldn't go out of my way for this place nor is this my favorite place to get sushi.
However it's convenient for me and my boyfriend. This place is small and super close to my house. The food is average and would come here if I wanted something quick and close. They did have a couple things that were good but not worth the price for the small portions.
This place is pretty average for the price that they charge. I'd have to say, I was full, however, I was wasn't as heavy as I was hoping due to the exit of funds from my wallet. If you choose to go to this place, choose wisely. The rolls are okay for the price. The combination deals are not really great deals.
They also offer some $100 sake. I don't know if it ever gets purchased, but when you start to ball, maybe you can get some.

I had just moved to the area and was excited to find a sushi place right down the road. The sushi was really good. They have one called the Redwood Roll and I will be back many times for this one!
Downside, the employees were pretty rude and stand offish. I don't like the orange fish eggs and always make sure I order something that doesn't have them. When we got our sushi they had added the eggs and I complained to the waitress and she just shrugged and wouldn't do anything. So if you go make sure you don't expect any service just good sushi.
I went there last night with a group of 7 + 2 babies. We were seated in the back with the other families with kids which was nice since we didn't have to worry about the babies being loud. We didn't have enough plates or chopsticks. Never refilled waters. The waiter disappeared and it took forever to the the sushi. The 1 child with us had to watch as she waited for her chicken. When the bill came we waited and waited and waited. Finally I called our waiter over to pick it up. Sitting in the back and having them forget about us made us joke about just walking out. After paying for 183.00 worth of food, we went home and had leftovers because we were still hungry. We will NOT be back!!
We will be going back to Chef Tony. He has the best sushi place in San Ramon. Located in the Loehman's shopping center.

A good find in San Ramon. I have been here about three times and I have been very happy each time! My friend and I will agree that they have absolutely delicious salmon sashimi! We definitely tend to order that at each place we try and by far its been the best here! I will definitely go back for sashimi and the rolls! This is my favorite sushi place in the area. I love their freshly wrapped stuff and their mountain vegetable soup is fucking awesome! Take out is just as good as eating in, which is also fun because they give you a warm towel to start off the meal, and you should order sake and edamame if you really want to have fun. This place rules.

I decided to try this place due to the positive reviews here and the close proximity to my work. I arrived right as they opened and wandered back to the sushi bar. I asked for their regular menu so I could look at the rolls and they seemed confused and referred me to the specials board and pointed at the lunch menu. I got up, looked a the specials and upon returning, they brought me a regular menu.
I ordered the Redwood roll at the recommendation of the posts here (tempura shrimp and avocado roll topped with spicy tuna and green onion), the poki roll (spicy albacore, cucumber, and onion), and unagi. I normally have a large Sapporo, but as it was a lunch meal, I opted for my standard Diet Coke.
The order took longer than expected (even for a sushi restraunt). My unagi arrived cold. It was tasty and acceptable, but the rice was noticably better than your average sushi estableshment. I would have preferred my unagi warm, however.
The Redwood roll was also tasty, but not as special as the $11.50 price would suggest.
The spicy poki was good, but light on the poki, heavy on the cucumber.
They did not have fountain drinks and have a particular beef with any eatery that brings me out one can of Coke at a time (I only opted for one). This is especially true anywhere I shell out $27 for lunch (yes, that is how much I paid for those three items and my can of Diet Coke, including a 15% tip).
The staff was above average for a typical sushi restaurant. The atmostphere was also average, clean, and acceptable. I had to leave my jacket on (and I love the cold) the entire meal and it seemed to actually get colder while I was there and happy to leave to get back out into the sun.
All-in-all, very average and I won't be going out of my way to eat there. I would much rather go to Matsu Sushi over in Dublin.
We love this place. Everyone is wonderful and they all go above and beyond. They also love kids and do well to acommodate them. Good kid's menu too.
Food is deeelicious! Fresh and bright. Try the Redwood Roll, pan fried garlic udon noodles, deep friend spicy tuna maki, shrimp shumai and the house salad.
Go on the early side to get a table.
I've decided to give this place 4 stars. It never fails! Besides an occasional lunch, I finally came for dinner recently. The service is much more friendly, which is surprising because the staff appeared mostly the same. I still went with the nabe udon, unfortunately for the same size, it's $4 more at dinner. But STILL, no other nabe has been as good.

This place has the best Sushi I have ever had...so far. Even better than all the trendy semi-famous places in SF. The staff was nice, the food was excellent, the atmosphere is a mix of traditional sushi bar and brew pub. The big plasma TV was great as the NBA playoffs were on and I wanted to watch my classmate, Steve Nash, kick some "Lake Show" butt. Gotta try the Redwood Rolls....mmmmm

i've come here for lunch a few times. always get one of the suhi lunches that's a combo of nigiri pieces and a sushi roll.
sushi is fresh, sushi roll varies daily. it's a little over-priced but this is san ramon.
i'd stay away from their shumai appetizer. they're tiny bites of soggyness. i didn't order them, a co-worker did. i wouldn't eat it if it were free.
I went to this place for lunch with a coworker today and when we walked in it was very bright and airy with lots of seating available. The staff was nice and pretty attentive. I ordered a bento box with california rolls and teriyaki chicken. The rolls were a lil mushy and heavy on the avacado but tasted ok. The chicken was good but I ended up biting down on 3 different pieces of bone!! Not ok and it hurt my tooth one time. But like my friend said at least you know it was chicken and not just mystery meat. The price was so-so $10.55 for the bento box and I only drank water and tea. Eh in a pinch I guess it would be ok but I wouldn't go back.
