I'm going to say that I'm a huge fan of the Ryde Shack when I'm there, but if you're looking for information, good luck. I've tried calling several times and left a bunch of messages. I bought the living social deal and wanted to reserve a bike. You can't reserve the bike online without paying for it with a credit card... so basically, you can't reserve if you have the Living Social deal.

I took a chance and showed up early on a Sunday hoping to get the lay of the land. The instructor arrived only about 5 minutes before the class so she was very rushed trying to check people in, get them set up on the bikes, get everyone towels, and collect the money. She just took my name and Living Social deal number and that was that. The class was pretty full but I was lucky to get a bike.

The instructor was really really good! The music was awesome too. She rolled up the doors to let in fresh air and I really enjoyed looking outside and sweating up a storm. I want to go back! She was phenomenal!!! I chatted with several other students who were friendly and it seems like a really nice community of people.

I've called twice since that ride and left messages asking about reservations with Living Social and haven't heard back... the failure to follow up with my questions is the reason I'm deducting stars. I hope to become a regular there and once I figure out the way to use my Living Social deal I will update my review.

Top score! Easily! Ryde Shack is where its at if you are looking to get fit, drop weight, or are already in good shape but looking for that perfect environment. They've got many class choices including Spin, Yoga, TRX and some where two are combined.

The wonderful owners are always present and either leading a class or right next to you on the bike or yoga mat. The true passion for the vision they have created is obvious and inspiring. Its a very welcoming atmosphere! Doesn't matter if its your first time trying a class, they help get their clients settled in to what's going on. Trust me on this because I had never done any of it and I love all of it! Coming from a dislike of corporate gyms I had only worked out at home or run/bicycled on my own before this.

I really can't say enough about the instructors here. They make all the difference! No attitudes or overbearing egos. While dishing out great information on form & technique these individuals are true motivators who help you demand more out of yourself. Similar good things can be said about the people that make Ryde Shack their place to exercise. Great sense of community here!

So if you are searching for the right fit like I was, well here it is! Set to reopen on January 5 after a remodel that will create more space for TRX and Yoga. Check out the website for a free intro class of your choice. There are some deals being offered. Worth every penny. You need this! Thank you Roy and Amanda!

You have to check out this absolutely fantastic gem of a spin studio in Albuquerque, in the funky Nob Hill neighborhood.

Owners Roy and Amanda make for a very welcoming environment for new riders, and everyone was friendly, even to me, a short-term visitor to ABQ. They specialize in riders of all types, including people just coming back to working out.

The bikes are amazing, RealRyders, that sway back and forth, like a real bike, engaging your abs. After the spinning, they provide an added bonus of a TRX arm and ab workout.

I went to the 5:30 a.m. class this morning, and it was amazing to look at the stars while doing crunches outside.

(Frankly, as as someone who is not a morning person, who just recently came back to exercise, that's a sentence I never thought I would write.)

They have garage doors that open up to cool off the studio, so it never was too hot like in normal spin classes.

As an added bonus, they have a smoothie bar with locally sourced ingredients, as well as an adorable boutique to browse in. I bought a cute sweater and delicious smoothie after class.

This is a perfect place for visitors to Albuquerque, since you can buy individual classes for $14. Although, right now, they are running a fall special for 10 classes for $29.00, which is a total steal.

I'll tell you, this is no ordinary spin class, so it is worth paying the $14 to try it out.

This place worked out for me!

Challenging classes in a great environment. Very cool studio with an open atmosphere. I definitely recommend the TRX classes but be prepared to be suuuper sore the following day. Also, about once a month they have a TRX/"Spin" class with a live DJ followed by a pot luck!

The Ryde Shack's classes challenging me in a different way. A bit about me, I'm an avid runner who likes to race and place in my age group. I cycle, hike, and cross train at a gym too. I am not new to group fitness classes that push you.

Cycling - I checked into the Ryde Shack this morning for Nick's cycling class. My first time on a RealRyder stationary bike. What a difference it makes to have the bikes mimic a road bike thereby using your core more.

Core Class - First time I took Stacey's Core class I was sore for 3 days afterwards! She is great and demonstrating and helping you execute proper technique to get the most our of class.

Gym Set Up - the location in Nob Hill is top notch, just off Central Ave. I love the open air patio and water misting system making classes on hot summer days comfortable.

I'll be coming back for sure!

Working out is by far one of my least favorite things to do. Classes are hard, and make me feel bad about myself because I'm not on the same level as the intense riders/lifters/or aerobics people. I feel embarrassed, winded, and ready to leave after the first ten minutes. My mom has become a pretty darn good cyclist and invited me to join her for a spin/yoga class here, and I decided it would be a good idea since it was close to my house. I walked in eyeing all of the closest exits and planning my escape for when I became too embarrassed to continue working out.

The class was hard. I attempted to do things to that bike that I haven't done to anything else on this planet. As I powered through the class attempting to stay up with my incredibly active mother my neck injury started acting up and I started to feel dizzy. I left my first class five minutes early and sat on my yoga mat feeling a little embarrassed and defeated. The yoga teacher asked me about my yoga experience and I told her that I'm no newbie in this activity. I told her about my back injury and she encouraged me to sit through postures that generally bother my back. When everyone else got out of spin we all got together for a really spectacular yoga class. Although, this class is taken seriously it was incredibly fun. I didn't feel like I was being overpowered by serious yoga energy. I felt that it was a time for relaxation, breathing, meditation, and stretching, but I didn't feel uncomfortable in the class or by the energy like some other classes I have taken.

I have been back several times and this place keeps growing on me. I have realized from my first class that I am not on the same level as everyone else and have been able to take the spin class and get an excellent workout without hurting myself. I am now working up to being able to be on my mothers level as well as not being the only lame duck on the bike. The teachers in yoga/cycling are incredibly encouraging. When I am not standing with the rest of the class they always cheer me on and recognize that I am doing the best that I can at that point.

I love the environment, the teachers, and the support. I am hoping to try one of their boot camp classes soon as well!

Great kick butt workout but unpretentious unlike some other places I go to like hot yoga where there are a lot of posers, which is against the whole point anyway. I like to go in the mornings and it hasn't been too crowded there at that time. I love the open air feel while riding and being able to gaze out onto the mountain helps take me away from the pain. The TRX really gets in there and isolates your muscles so there is no way you can cheat. You use your own body weight for the resistance so no bulky weights to contend with. Clark taught the classes I took and he was upbeat and kept me on track and my mind off the hard work I was doing. I recommend it if you want to get fit!! I am sore two days later...love that feeling!

This place is great. I've been going to spin classes for over 6 months, and look forward to each class. The classes are customizable for any riding level or aerobic ability, the music is great, and I love being outside. It's an accepting environment, and a lot of fellow cyclists attend classes. I highly recommend it (just don't take my bike!)

It's a good workout place with nice folks. The only bad part is that you still get your card charged, even if you have a last minute emergency and have to cancel. This is rather silly since their classes never fill up anyway. They should also let people know of this in advance.

I purchased a groupon for 10 classes. I thought the studio was decent, instruction was good nothing to really brag about. I didn't like that they never explained, or had it written in their policy that if you sign up for a class and do a "late cancel" which is anything less than 24 hr cancel the late cancel counts against your classes....I felt they should have had some type of disclosure...I even hovered over the "late cancel" to find out if it would count against your classes.
