Mediocre - less selection than golden corral and steaks not made to order.

I used to go here every Monday after school with my mom, sister and my mom's parents. Some of my earliest memories are my mom picking me up, having left Ryan's, and me getting in the car to receive a buttered yeast roll wrapped up in a napkin. I knew whose work this was: my Papa's. It was an edible "I love you."
I remember, if our family was particuarly engaged in conversation, my sister would slip under the table to eat butter packets straight. She loved the stuff.
We knew all the waitresses, and they knew us by name, which I didn't know then wasn't common. The waitresses refill your drinks and bring you clean plates between helpings at the buffet.
I would reciprocate the bread favor at dessert, and when my Papa finished his Hawaiian steak (my Mimi would give me the sliced pineapple ring that came on top), I would go get him a dish of soft serve, chocolate and vanilla swirl, sometimes lovingly topped with crumbled Oreos.
I've gone back as an adult, and obviously I can see what lacks in this restaurant now, but I still have a special place in my heart for it.
