I have been coming here so long they dint even hand me a menu.  But if your coming here with a date sit upstairs away from the bar. Stragglers like myself tend to be loud.

Chopped Salad with Crab meat is awesome also the lamp chops (butterfly style) is to die for. Drinks are always on point I like Ciroc ( Ciroc Nation YAY!) but there is also Johnny walker Baileys and a Cadre of alcoholic selections

    Ruth's Dis - Morton's next time!
The steaks and sides were fantastic as they always are so let's put that to bed. We arrived 15 minutes late for our 6:00 pm reservation on Friday.  The occasion was my son's 18th birthday.
Strike one: They attempted to seat us in the bar.  We were dressed well and sober so I have to assume that they were seeing if they could save the upstairs tables for the Pasha of Parkdale.
Strike Two: The manager had us stand at the bottom of the stairs like peasants in Les Mis while they "got our table for five ready".  At 6:20 pm - REALLY? Clearly a ruse to justify their attempt to stow us in the lounge. Our waiter Matt was very good.  He was friendly and well versed in the specials and menu.
Strike 3:  We brought a special bottle of wine but were denied corkage because "their liquor license did not allow it." I look forward to reviewing Morton's in B'more for my daughter's 21st next month.

With all my calorie counting I've neglected the finer cravings on my days off dieting with comfort food.

    But not today.

I met two friends at Ruth's Chris steak house today for a 4 o'clock dinner. This is my first time at the power plant location. I like the valet parking but didn't expect to pay for it. I don't ever remember paying at the Eastern Ave location. Anyway, it's convenient and the valet guys are pro's.

We were walk ins and figured getting a table wouldn't be a problem and were seated immediately after a friendly hello from the manager.

The decor is  fancy enough for a special occasion but also warm and inviting for a casual dinner. We were here for the later.

Our waiter Paul ran down the specials, I started with lobster bisque soup which was perfect, minced lobster on top of a creamy savory velvety soup, very good.
My friends had the lobster bisque soup as well and a crab meat appetizer. the crab looked decadent and he said it was good.

We ordered steaks for dinner, I chose the Cowboy Ribeye. The Cowboy is a hunk of USDA aged prime cut Ribeye steak with bone-in.
After finishing our app's our steaks arrived sizzling on 500 degree dishes, the beautiful meat quickly melting the dollop of butter on top from it's 1800 degree searing. Nice.

Tender, succulent and flavorful sums up the beef. I devoured it completely and washed it down with a nice dry glass of Cabernet Sauvignon.
My friends had the Rib Eye  and enjoyed their steaks as well.

We all shared an order of Mashed Potatoes, Broccoli au gratin and Sauteed Mushrooms in butter. how can something as simple as mushrooms taste so good?

The manager came over and checked in on us halfway through our meal to make sure everything was ok.

After that we ordered desert, you have to try their signature Creme Brulee, its the best I've had so far anywhere. Creamy egg custard with specks of black vanilla bean on the bottom, caramelized crusty surface served with fresh berries, and strawberries makes this one fantastic dessert. I sipped a 10 year old port while savoring every bite of this.

The rest of my party did the bread pudding. I got the Bread Pudding with Whiskey sauce to go as well. It was good but not the best I've had.

the service was very good, Paul was awesome in recommending drinks and his knowledge of the menu/specials and food preparation was impressive, we wanted and waited for nothing. Nice job.

For three of us having dinner, drinks and dessert the bill came to about 320 bucks. Not cheap but you get every bit of your moneys worth in service and food at Ruth's Chris Steak House.

This is how a steakhouse is done.

Two thumbs up for Ruth's Chris Steak House!

I'm always a fan of Ruth's Chris, and this visit was no exception. The one thing I would warn about, however, was the location. It happens to be right underneath a dance club. I was there on New Year's Eve, so it may have been louder than usual, but we experienced a continuous thumping from the club over our classy dining music. Besides that, the restaurant is just beautiful, and the service was wonderful, as usual.

The location of this restaurant is great and their service was awesome.  I ordered the petite filet mignon and will admit that it was delicious!  The ambiance or feel of the restaurant gets an A+ but the only down side of this place are the prices.  The least expensive steak is the petite filet mignon and that costs $35.  For me and my date, the bill (with tip and wine) was $150.  Can you say "Ouch"?  Besides the prices, this place is a great restaurant but make sure you budget for it.

Attending a conference in Baltimore I urged a group of friends to give RCSH a try.  BIG mistake and was I bashed for pushing to eat here.  Could have easily been one star.

Very pompus and expensive.  Everything is ala carte and adds up quickly and if you drink or have wine you are in the stratosphere of expensive.

Service was minimal and the food very average.  I think a supermarket steak would have been on par with what we experienced.

A small filet is served on a large serving platter.  It is pathetically comical to see this tiny piece of $32 meat sitting alone on the hot platter surrounded by its burned juices well highlighted by the whitness of the otherwise empty platter.

Taste?  Certainly not a $32 experience.

Given the la-de-dah of the server you would have thought that he had brought gold to the table.  Such a scam!

I realize that Sean Hannity's enthusiastic endorsement was bought and when he would arrive my guess is that he would have gotten great service and free meals.  I further guess that unlike Paul Harvey, Hannity does not try products he endorses.

I was stunned at the number of groups celebrating birthdays and such, along with the glowing reviews here on Yelp*.  Maybe RCSH is the best they have ever experienced.

I do not recommend RCSH unless money is no object.   You can do far, far better at just about any other steak place around.

"Leave the cooking with us," yes please music to my ear especially during holidays or my no cooking weekend off.  It's dinner time I would love some juicy USDA Prime Rib at its best. Well marbled for peak flavor, deliciously juicy in the inside, moist and tender, melt in your mouth carnivores dream.  My half Spanish blood cries out for Savor in my dish and anything less would not satisfy this meat lover mamasita.

Only a place with such class, long standing awards of culinary achievements, and coming from humble beginnings on Broad Street in New Orleans to their current position as the world's largest fine dining company, Ruth's Chris Steak House has come quite a long way in its first four decades from a woman that broke the mold-founder Ruth Fertel is worthy to be called an All-American Signature Steakhouse.

They also have a variety of fresh festive salads, soups, appetizers to further tease your taste buds, and a full stocked bar with local and imported brew, vintage wines, and mixed martinis and cocktails to make your meal even more enjoyable.

Not a big steak fan try their Lamb Chops three chops cut extra thick, served with fresh mint. They are naturally tender and flavorful or a Fresh whole Maine lobster, ranging from 2.5 to 5 pounds.  Feeling like seafood and BBQ try their Sautéed New Orleans style in reduced white wine, butter, garlic and spices served on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes and you'll be having a Mardi Gras celebration in your tummy in no time.

Finaly, you got to end a signature steak dinner with some rich soothing Crème Brûlée the classic Creole egg custard, topped with fresh berries and mint.  Even the classic All-American Warm Apple Crumb Tart Pie with Granny Smith apples baked in a flaky pastry, streusel crust and vanilla bean ice cream.  Oh yes no cooking weekend is definitely something I look forward too. The way I love my steaks, it got to be prime USDA Meat and Ruth's Chris surely satisfy my appetite with every plate that comes piping hot from their kitchen.

This being my first yelp review, I hate to be so negative, but unfortunately I think it is necessary. On the other hand, there were still some positives to the meal, but food poisoning really overshadows any good. I went here on a random weeknight with my girlfriend for a quick meal in the bar area where there is the option of ordering from a bar menu with cheaper options. I had a burger, which was exceptional. Perfectly cooked and tasted great. The fries were also perfect. My girlfriend got the seared tuna salad. She enjoyed the salad, and said the fish tasted fine, but then she ended up getting food poisoning from the meal.

I realize that you don't typically go to a steakhouse to order rare fish on a salad, but I would at least hope that the fish is fresh enough that it doesn't cause absolutely horrible food poisoning and debilitating illness for a  full 24 hours. Aside from my girlfriend being bedridden for a full day and night following this meal, the meal itself really did seem fine, which is why it's so unfortunate that the fish made her sick. As far as service, even though we sat at a table, our server was the bartender, and the service was still quite good.

Walking out of the restaurant, I was thinking this was a 4 star meal and was happy to recommend it to anyone, but I think food poisoning, especially this being some of the worst food poisoning I've seen, really overshadows the positive.

This was an incredible dining experience. The waiter was involved and talkative but then disappeared when my wife and I wanted privacy, only to reappear when we wanted service. He cautioned us against ordering too many side dishes, as each side serves two, deliciously. The steak was amazing, tasty, delivered to the table a little on the rare side and then served on a sizzlingly hot platter, with the result that each bite was perfectly done.  I only wish to return.

Came in on mothers day around 7pm, and the restaurant was slow, sat in the players lounge.

Our server Brandon gave a great opening speech at the table, that is where the level of service I would expect from this place stopped..

--Ordered a bottle of conundrum...Brandon did not even offer for me to tatste it, just poured 2 glasses ??? who does that
--not offered pepper with ouR caesar salad
--wine sat in the bottle while my glass was empty...I had to pour in myself
--Messed up our order, we ordered a filet and crab cake entree to split
order came out with the steak and a single crab cake

AND THE WORST   WHEN WE LEFT THE ENTIRE HOSTESS STAFF PLUS THE GM (BALD MAN FROM THE SOUTH) LITERALLY IGNORED US AS WE WALKED OUT

    NO THANK YOU, OR GOODBYE

IF THE GM IS TRYING TO CHANGE THE CULTURE OF THE STORES IN MD....KEEP TRYING

This was my second time at this Ruth's Chris and it was even more delicious this time.

Maryland style crab cakes (3) - Disappointingly small, flavor was weak. Maybe the Baltimorean in me is being too critical, but there are plenty of other local establishments that have bigger, better, and much less expensive crab cakes. Skip it.

Porterhouse for two (5+) -  insert superlative compliment here:_________. It was served 2 inches thick, cooked perfectly to medium-rare, and served on famous melted butter. The strip was immensely flavorful while the tenderloin was melt in your mouth soft... steak done right. Quantity is certainly enough for two.. Pricey, but definitely worth it.

Creamed spinach (4.5) and garlic mashed potatoes (4) - Both were delicious, but overshadowed by the porterhouse. Spinach was rich and velvety. Mashed potatoes were buttery and silky smooth, but lacked seasoning and could have used more roasted garlic.

Overall, a good experience. Next time I'll try the ribeye and the beef carpaccio appetizer (although this was a special).

My brother in-law and I had the absolute WORST porterhouse for two ever here. Our piece of meat was not suitable enough to be served at Sizzler. It was fatty, tough, gristly, and woefully cooked. So why the 4 star rating? Every once in a while the steak gremlins slip one past the goalie. A place like Ruths Chris serves thousands of steaks, most very very good, one is bound to be bad eventually. It's the law of averages people. The reason for my 4 star rating is for the way the staff handled the situation. Both our waiter and the manager were excellent in this regard. They explained what the possible reasons were for the bad cut, they offered their sincere apologies, and asked if we wanted a replacement steak. The manager then invited us, as his guests, to the cigar bar located above the restaurant with complimentary cigars, and he comped almost everything on our bill.

Bad steaks come and go and can be easily forgotten, but how it's handled by the staff leaves a lasting impression.

The only reason i'm not giving a 1 star, is because the server/managers are on point and friendly. The food is really not that great. The steaks are corn-fed and remind me of a bag of fritos. The happy hour specials($5 per dish) were decent, but completely a rip off. When i ordered the shrimp dish, they gave me exactly two shrimp. That's $2.50 per shrimp. Do you realize the markup that the restaurant is making by charging 2.50 per shrimp(and this is their supposedly HAPPY HOUR SPECIAL pricing). Unacceptable. The small crabcake wasn't that bad, but once again, these portions look like the size of pogs(milkcaps).
I can understand that they are trying to be a really expensive restaurant and all, but I'm just not a fan of these big expensive "chain restaurants." Won't be going back ever again, unless the meal is free.

I've been to this Ruth's Chris location 3 times now and have always had an excellent dining experience.  The previous times were for dinner on special occasions but I recently went with my family for Christmas Eve lunch and wasn't sure what to expect.

Lunch service was new to this location (I believe it was only for the holidays and no longer offered on a regular basis) and they pulled it off tremendously.  You could still order all cuts of steak but they offered several lighter appetizers and entrees.  I got a tenderloin and portobello salad which had a small salad with a sliced tenderloin and portobello on top of grilled asparagus.  It was great because I could get the steak I wanted, but as part of an overall lighter meal; perfect for lunch.  Afterwards I was very satisfied and didn't feel weighed down as if I have just gorged on a huge steak dinner.

Service was also excellent.  The waitress was very helpful, offering insight into all the dishes and providing recommendations based on what we were looking for.  She happily brought out a full-sized piece of chocolate sin cake (which chocolate loving people tell me is unbelievable) when we told her it was my stepdad's birthday.

Ruth's Chris is great for a special dinner or night out, but apparently it's also a great spot for lunch as well.  And prices are quite reasonable too!

This particular Ruth's Chris earns three stars on the basis of its food alone. While the service and surroundings are a cut above your everyday chain restaurant, it didn't seem to jive with the upscale prices. For instance, the dimly lit dining room is comfortable, but a bit cramped and the decor is uninspired. Our server was friendly and courteous but his appearance was sloppy (sagging dress pants) and the service was somewhat casual.

Then again, as noted above, the food is excellent. The steak is the main focus, of course, and it shines under this spotlight. Served on "500-degree" plates, the meat is juicy, tender, and well-seasoned. Serving it on butter may not please everyone though, so tell your server if you want to change things up. Portions were large and tasted okay, though not as amazing as the steak. The house salad wasn't anything to write home about. Everything lacked in presentation, as food was served on boring white plates that show major signs of age.

Frankly, after all the great things I'd heard about Ruth's, my visit was something of a disappointment in that it just wasn't the all-around amazing experience that I had envisioned. Perhaps it was because my visit fell on a Sunday evening. The dining room was only half full, and despite the "Proper Attire Required" lettering on the door, my friend and I were seated despite being dressed very casually.

In sum, this Ruth's Chris won't wow you with the service, decor, or presentation, but one thing you won't complain about is the meat.

I went here with my coworkers to celebrate my birthday.  We met at the bar for drinks beforehand to capitalize on the happy hour specials ($5 wines and well drinks and $3 beers!!!)  For dinner, we splurged and went to the dining area.  Since we're on a budget, we each had the 3-course special ($39.99 or $49.99, depending on entree selection).  I had a salad, 6 oz. filet with grilled shrimp (cooked to medium) and creamed spinach, and a slice of sinfully chocolate cake.  The steak was AWESOME - a week later, my mouth still waters when I think of it.  It melted in my mouth, so tender, juicy, and flavorful!!!

I don't eat red meat very often so this was definitely a special occasion spot.  If you're craving a quality hunk of meat, this is the place to go!  The patio is also really nice for happy  hour and the patio menu is reasonable!

This is my favorite restaurant of all time, and if I could only go out to one place for the rest of my life, this would be it.

    The Perfect Menu:
Appetizer - Mushrooms Stuffed with Crabmeat
    Salad - Steak House Salad
Entree - Petite Filet (Chesapeake Style)
    Potato - Lyonnaise Potatoes
    Vegetable - Fresh Asparagus
    Dessert - Creme Brulée

As for beverages, I'd have Merlot with the meal and coffee with dessert.

If you aren't drooling yet, I don't know what to tell you.

A group of us from our convention went down here.  The meal and the service were delightful.

Our waiter had the greatest personality and joined in on our fun.  I would definitely go back and I don't eat steak but the fish plate I ordered was super.

He split up our bill with no problem.  He was very attentive to our table as well as the others he was servicing at the same time.

    Truly an enjoyable evening.

I would only go here for restaurant week: otherwise I would consider this place slightly overpriced.

Despite how busy it gets during restaurant week, i found this location perfectly fine, AS LONG AS YOU MAKE A RESERVATION.

For both years my roommates and i went for restaurant week, ruth's chris offered the same prix fixe menu.  I had the seafood gumbo, petit filet, and flourless chocolate cake.

i would have given this place 4 stars for their food alone.  the fact that they seem to serve their steaks on a burning hot plate was good, but soaked in melted butter/oil, not so good.  it makes me believe that the tenderness is attributed to the fat content of the dish.  during my second visit, however, my steak came out fully burnt on the outside and raw on the inside.  they fixed my order without any hassle, so that was a +1 for them.

as for location, the waiting area is very small, and especially being next to inner harbor and during january, it can get very cold waiting outside.  i will definitely go here again for the upcoming restaurant week in spring 2010.

They serve the steak on 500 degree plates (ok, maybe 400, but it's hot so your food stays that way).  I order the NY Sirloin medium rare sans butter.  (They serve their steak in butter and I personally prefer it "plain".)

It is pricey, but you won't be disappointed.

I thought that this place was really nice. I took my mother and grandmother here for mother's day and they really enjoyed it (so did I). The food was REALLY good, particularly the sweet potato casserole and the creme brulee. I had ordered a steak and a loaded baked potato for myself. The potato tasted a bit weird, because it seems as if the sour cream had been sweetened. At first I didn't like it so I started eating my mother's delicious mashed potatoes, but then I started to like the taste of the bake potato.

Besides the food, the best part of this experience was the service. The staff was extremely pleasant. My grandmother was being a nuisance (she wanted to change seats), but the staff accommodated her. She didn't like the special potatoes that came with the meal, so the waitress gave her the sweet potato casserole...free of charge. The staff was just really nice and accommodating (lol, I have to stop writing the word "really")

Oh, and the cutest thing was that our waiter sent us a handwritten, detailed thank you letter. (They work hard for their tip ;D, lol )

I pick this as the top steakhouse in Baltimore.  I know it's a chain, but in terms of the old school ambiance, the awesome steaks that's sweetened with butter (I always ask for extra), and the flaming banana's fosters (off the menu desert), this place has it all.

Oh, and I've ONLY received great service here.

This was my second time coming to this steakhouse and I have to say the first time was better but it was still good.  They had a special $49.95 or $39.95 3 course meal.  I got the steak salad, ribeye medium rare and the chocolate cake dessert for $49.95.  The steakhouse salad was pretty good and I also go the French onion soup.  It was pretty good.  The ribeye steak was cooked a little too much and it came out more medium well than medium rare but it was still good.  The garlic mashed potatoes was good, the creamed spinach was ok.  I also tried the crab cake and I really liked it because it had some spice to it.  The chocolate cake was also pretty good.  I thought the service was just ok compared to the other time.  Anyways, I still thought it was pretty good so I would come back again but I was disappointed that it wasn't as good as my first time here.

The old saying,"You get what you pay for" rings true! The steaks are simply heavenly! This place has become our celebration station. The service is unparalled. Try the porterhouse for two. Try the lobster bisque and lump crabmeat( I have never seen crabmeat so white), the sauce that comes with it is to die for! The apple pie a la mode is spectacular. The players club room does get kind of loud. Ask for Jeremy, he is a dream! I can't wait for my New Year's Eve reservation.

You have GOT to be kidding. I've had better steaks from Costco! Great service, wonderful atmosphere, average food, extravagant prices.

This particular Ruth's Chris location is very good.  They can be hit or miss sometimes.  I have been here several times and had the bar special and it has been excellent and so has the service.  The guys at the bar are very nice and helpful.  I plan to keep going back whenever I am up in the city.

After we left the horrific "McCormick & Schmick's" (should be schmucks) we went around the corner to Ruths. GREAT service and, although not the best steak in town, the food was certainly worth the price. Great wine list and the beer was super cold.

    love ruth's chris - who doesn't?

great management in the baltimore location, though.

my friend wore a white peacoat to dinner and hung it on the back of her chair. one of the bus boys must have dropped some type of sauce and it splattered all over the back of her jacket.

none of us even noticed or knew until the manager approached her with his card to tell her what had happened. as he explained, the assistant manager came over with club soda and a napkin and began trying to get the sauce off as much as he could.

they offered right away to pick up the tab for the dry cleaning.

pretty awesome, i think. none of us would have ever even known!!

    very impressed.

I love this ruths chris, classy layout with nice decor.  My steak is always good here, cooked to perfection with nice service.  The lighting can be a little dim though.

I've dined at this location four times, and every time I've been very pleased with the food and service.

Filets, porterhouse, ribeye, prime rib... it's all good :)

To be honest, my experiences at Ruth's Chris, albeit not the most expensive, have been better than many other steakhouses (Morton's, Smith and Wollensky, Fleming's, Nick and Stef's). So much so that I don't really have a desire to go back to the other places (unless you're buying).

Been going to Ruth's Chris as far as I can remember.  I think I've been to everyone of them in our Metro area.  This location is by far the best location.  Great food, and great atmosphere.  I love the old wood beams.  It looks like how a classy steak rest. should look like.

I always go here with 2-3 people.  That way I can order what I always do, Porterhouse - medium rare.  Filet side is just amazing on it.  NY side is little too chewy.  Their soups and vegetables are also well done.  My favorite being lobster bisque and potato au gratin.  Can't go wrong visiting here.  4.5 stars, just notch below Prime Rib in DC and on par with Capital Grille.

Ruth's Chris is a very good restaurant but it is overrated.  I don't know the selection in the Baltimore area, but when I went to Ruth's Chris there, I kept thinking how much I missed Capital Grille in Miami.  Same prices but lesser steaks.  The side dishes and desserts at Ruth's Chris are very good, however.  The service will always be top notch.  I don't like the porterhouse, too crude.

I can't complain about the butter steak.  It's always rich and savory.  However for high end steak places it's okay but not spectacular.  The Ribeye is done well.  The garlic mashed potatoes are also surprisingly good.  Good for a busines dinner.
