Rustic Rooster is a novelty in Encinitas.

It has managed to remain open as so many of the old furniture places that used to dot the street close.

They have some pretty cool stuff, and always ecletic finds.  It keeps you wanting to drop in and see if they have some freakishly cool thing that just might be PERFECT.

The workers are awesome as well, and are helpful in letting you know all about the goods.

Nice to drop in at, even to just kill some time in Encinitas.

I love this little home decor and furniture shop. A sweet blend of true rustic and custom items such as dressers, bookshelves and decorative pieces. The photos tell it all.

The Rooster is now seven years old and I remember when it first opened its doors selling unique antiques that the mother and daughter team (Sally and Alexandra) refurbished in the back. Now they have a proper garage and still spruce up the old pieces themselves. The newer items are usually modeled after the old but have modern-day conveniences like rollers for the drawers. They also do custom slip covers and can design an entire room for you or a house for that matter.

The shop is about to add on a baby center where you can buy rustic-style furniture as well as gifts in the same vain.
